Virago Ratings and Reviews
Horrible service, terrible assistant manager. The service and treatment we received was disgraceful. Our waitress was pleasant but the assistant manager needs general customer service training. We we're appalled by her response to our inquiry on corking fees. Next she literally yelled at us for unscrewing a light bulb above our table when they turned all lights on, ruining any potential ambiance, instead of simply walking over to inform us the restaurant was closing. Will never return.
the food is usually good, sushi and saki. Kobe meat balls well under cooked and mushy not good at all, pork belly very salty, same as edamame. Sat outside while temperature was good the tables and chairs are cumbersome and uncomfortable. Eaten at many sushi places around the country, and sometimes is hit or miss here. It shouldn't be at this price point
One of the most inventive combinations of sushi and small Japanese plates you'll find anywhere in the US. And at a Nashville-sized price. Great patio and rooftop for gatherings. Outstanding knowledgeable wait staff. Impress anyone, a date or a colleague by taking them here. Cool cocktails too.
This was my first time at Virago with two great friends. The wine by the class list was impressive. I had the Beran red zin and it was delicious. We shared an assortment of sushi that was so good. Get the Bomb roll!! Yum!! The coconut rice was like a desert side dish!! Crazy good. Not far from downtown Nashville but definitely a hip vibe in this area.
With reservation waited 1/2 hour for table. Front desk gal was as uncordial and inept as possible. Not sure why she would be hired as a hostess with her unfriendly and unwelcoming manner. Finally spoke to manager who was able to get us seated and take care of us. Nice ambience but overrated in every other aspect.
Lovely dinner at Virago.. as usual! Our server, Robert, was friendly and attentive, without hovering. We dined for our anniversary and once he found out, the manager brought us a special appetizer on the house. Our favorite sushi in Nashville by far! Always fresh.
Went to Virago for my boyfriend's 22nd birthday. I made reservations a month in advance (just in case). We did not enjoy the loud noise, dark lighting, and overpriced sushi. Don't get me wrong, the sushi was great, but not for the price. However, Virago has been a favorite of mine since I was a teen, but he was not as thrilled to dine there. It is not the same as I remember it being. It is still definitely a hot spot in Nashville. Decorated beautifully.
We heard about Virago through the Omni. We were pleasantly surprised about the choices and the waitress and entire staff we encountered went above and beyond. Loved the fact there were two kitchens and the presentation of the plates we spectacular. Definitely worth it and will indulge again when we come to Nashville.
We really loved the food at Virago. Second time there. However, we had a 6 pm reservation and all our food was out with 20 minutes of arriving. It was hard not to feel rushed. It would have been nice to relax during courses. The sushi courses were wonderful but the Donburri bowl was not very good and hardly touched. I'm sure we'll go again but would stick with sushi!
