Our experience was great except for the fly in my peach mimosa. It was immediately replaced but a bit disconcerting. Service was very accommodating. We had one diner who must have gluten free and this was worked out to his satisfaction.

We were disappointed in our lunch. The menu was really heavy for lunch. I was looking forward to a light seafood salad but none was on the menu. We asked for chicken piccata even though not on the menu and they did accommodate. But the chicken was not cooked properly and it was just OK. The side of pasta was like sticky rice. The vegetables were prepared well and served in a unique way. I'm not a big vegetable fan and that was the best part of the meal, so it tells you something. We won't be going back.

Been here several times often for work though took my wife and daughter this last time, they greatly enjoyed themselves. Consistently good food and service. Patio dining as sun sets are fantastic. Road noise can be annoying at times but you cannot beat the location. Street parking is virtually non existent so you'll have to Valet which can be somewhat frantic. Noted a bunch of after work businesses folks.

Another wonderful experience at Vigilucci's celebrating a birthday with a patio lunch. Champagne and chilled glasses were ready as requested, the staff very accommodating , and the service outstanding. The new retractable canopy over the patio provided shade all around so that everyone was comfortable. Salads and specials were generously sized and very good. The meal was topped off with a delicious creme brûlée.

Well I went there based on reviews. The atmosphere was great. However I ordered the Capito for 2 and ordered pasta with it. I would figure that the pasta would be on the side, but it was in the middle of the dish. This made me feel that my portion of the Capino was less. Also I did not get the service that I expected.

Loved the food and the wine, but it took a really long time in between each course to receive the next one. Especially in between entrée and dessert. I personally feel that the mark of an OUTSTANDING restaurant is one that can coordinate food delivery seamlessly. But all in all it was still a great dining experience and the conversation was flowing so the wait wasn't unbearable, just noticeable.

A great experience. Food was excellent and location/view was perfect. We met the owner in the bar before eating and he was extremely nice and helpful in picking what to order. Service was excellent! Definitely would recommend!

This was an anniversary dinner. We had Cioppino. The price was $40.00 per serving. It was served in a regular soup bowl. There were 5 pieces of crouton shaped fish, 1 large prawn shrimp, 4 small mussels, 4 baby clams, 2 wedges of bread, small desert, small appetizer, cioppino sauce.
The shell fish had been cooked so long that the meat in the shell fish had reduced to nothing and appeared to be empty. We also had 2 drinks. The bill came to $117.00 with tip. We did not dispute the dinner because we wanted to keep the night on a high note and just paid the tab.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I had lunch here with a good friend. The ambiance is very nice. We enjoyed the view of the ocean and the gentle breezes through the open french doors. Food was delicious. The wait staff realized we wanted to have a leisurely lunch and visit. They were attentive but did not try to hurry us.

We chose Vigilucci's as a spot to meet up with my father and stepmother as a place to celebrate their anniversary. I had a little trouble with my reservation, but the staff were helpful, friendly, and more than willing to accommodate us. They offered us a spot near the wine cellar- which was absolutely perfect for our small group of four.
Again, the staff members here are phenomenal. The waiter was highly attentive, but gave us enough space to comfortably go over the menu; absolutely excellent service. The food was incredible, and you can tell each dish was given meticulous care.
Dining here was an experience- a little pricey, but VERY worth the ambiance, service, and food. You get what you pay for!

This was a wonderful experience for our anniversary dinner from the time we pulled into the lot to the time valet opened our doors to leave. We grabbed a drink in the bar as we arrived early for the reservation and it was a usual busy Friday night. Once we were seated we were offered waters and quickly got fresh warm bread to munch in while our amazing dinner was cooking. The veal chop my fiancé got was probably the most tender we had ever tasted. To top that off, the waiter brought us a complimentary creme brulee for our special occasion at no cost! Even the hostess said happy anniversary as we left. Top notch experience with a priceless view. I will be going back.

Our server Dani was absolutely delightful and made the evening even more special. Food was great, view stupendous, was in walking distance of where we were staying in Carlsbad, and overall a fabulous restaurant. We would definitely return!

Went for wife's birthday. Got a window table where we could see the ocean. My cioppino was full of mussels, clams, shrimp and fish. Wife had 2 appetizers which was quite enough. Great polenta. Excellent service. Offered free birthday creme brulee.

We love Vigilucci's and go there for lunch more than dinner. I realize why after our last anniversary dinner there on Sept. 1st. It amazes me that owners/managers do not say anything to very loud and rowdy groups. The entire place was fine with the exception of one table of about 7-8 people just a table away from us who were loud and obnoxious. I realize that when people start drinking their brains seem to go on vacation, that is when a waiter or manager should quietly ask them to quiet down for the sake of other diners. Is it better to offend one table or a whole restaurant because no one has the nerve to ask the guests to quiet down. Last time i'll be there for dinner for a long time. Lunch is never that noisy. Disappointing as it was a 54th anniversary.

We went here for my birthday, my husband and I loved it! The food was delicious, the presentation beautiful and the service/atmosphere was perfect. It overlooks the ocean but is beautiful inside. You have views everywhere. We had the seafood ravioli and penne vodka, along with the sautéed scallops for an app. Dessert was just as amazing with tiramisu and crime brûlée. We could not have asked for a better evening at a better restaurant !!! We can't wait to visit again.

The positives were: both our food and the service by our waiter were very good. The BIG negative was that we waited almost an hour (beyond our scheduled reservation time) to get our table. When we first came in we were told that our table was being set up. Over the next 45 minutes, I asked the hostess on several occasions when our table was going to be ready. She said that the group that was currently sitting at our table was "lingering" and that it shouldn't be too long now. At no time did the hostess or the general manager try to arrange for alternative seating for us. To add insult to injury, after we were finally seated, neither the general manager nor any other representative of Vigilucci's came by to apologize for the delay. Over the years, we have dined at several of the other Vigilucci restaurants and have enjoyed our dining experience. Unfortunately, this experience has left a bitter taste in our mouths and, as a result, we plan to dine elsewhere in the future.

Our family of five (all adults) dined there was the first time. We had no complaints about the quality of the food. Overall it was very good. The steaks and prime rib were generous and of good quality. The seafood was fresh.
Overall, however, the experience is taxing. Parking is a major issue. Their lot is small and fills up quickly. Although the food was good, the prices are very high. The place itself is across the highway from the beach, so traffic is noisy and the views are average. Our party waited 30 minutes WITH a reservation. When we were there, the restaurant was "screaming to be heard" noisy and remained that way throughout our meal. The service was good, but all of the wait staff look frazzled. All in all, the place feels stressful, not enjoyable and relaxed. Didn't hate it, but probably won't be back.

This was an amazing restaurant! We sat on the outdoor patio with ocean views on a lovely summer night. The plating of the entree was beautiful and the dish was the most fabulous seafood dinner I had while in Carlsbad and San Diego. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I will have vongole spaghetti every time.
I think that you changed a type of spaghetti.
It was a type of fat and roll.
Although it is my individual opinion, it is not good combination between spaghetti and sauce.
I like previous old type spaghetti.
