Stumbled upon Vera Mae's tonight for an impromptu dinner and was pleasantly surprised! Amazing food, we left stuffed and had food to take home. The crab artichoke dip was amazing, I didn't want to share. The service was awesome, every time we turned around our water glasses were filled and we were being tended to. Recommend this to anyone for a nice quiet dinner with excellent service.
Everything was wonderful!
Loved the Fetta spinach wontons. Had the bet pork chop ever. Service was great as well!
Food & service were great, as always. The bourbon signature cocktail was on-point, and the special (seafood dish) was tasty & well-priced.
First time visiting. Excellent food and attentive service by Hannah!
Fun décor, lots of antiques, unmatched chairs, interesting and eclectic artwork. Live piano music in one of the rooms (the cozier one in which we sat the first time we ate here). We were not that hungry, so decided on sharing some appetizers. French onion soup was very good, but overwhelmed by cheese. Salad nothing more than some greens, a couple red onion slices and cherry tomatoes -- salad dressing good but salad underwhelming. Cajun crabcakes very spicy. Nice place to have dinner if you happen to be in Muncie.
This was our first time at Vera Mae’s. The Pasta was great, crab dip was excellent, pecan pie was really good as well, but the chicken was over cooked and dry. The decor was dark but relaxed. Overall it was a good visit.
Our most favorite dinner in Muncie. It’s always a treat and everything we always want.
Went for Valentine's day so while the service was a little slow that was understandable as they were very busy. However, at 60 dollars a person the food was very underwhelming. My date and I both felt indifferent about most courses and negatively about some. Definitely not worth the price although the live music was cool.
This was the first time my husband and I went to Vera Mae’s. It was delicious and a great atmosphere! The couple that owns the restaurant were wonderful with guests. They were kind and it was nice to watch them hug and call the regulars by name. The food was great and the portion size was perfect. We went home stuffed and just had a little bit of leftovers. Will definitely be coming back to try the cream brûlée!! :)
👍. Excellent food and decor
Wonderful dining experience, excellent food. Best beef filet we have ever had! Thank you!
We ate at Vera Mae’s for my grandma’s 75th Birthday. The staff was all very nice and our waitress was especially friendly. She was very helpful with picking out cocktails and answering any questions we had about our food. The food was delicious, especially the French onion soup. I would highly recommend coming here if you’re looking for a nicer place to eat.
Vera Mae’s is always a treat...they greet everyone like their best old buddy!
A wonderful dining experience. Terrific food and great service. This is our go-to place for special events when we are visiting Muncie. Thank you for another great evening!
Excellent overall traditional experience and atmosphere....filet was undercooked but decided to take home...no issue. New contemporary artworks will enhance experience see 21C Louisville....mobile petit performances/musicians, light mood shifts, guest chefs, group tables with strangers, aromatic fragrances, variety of seating options will entice new visitors...eric
We needed to discuss committee business and decided to combine that with lunch. The good fun and wonderful sunshine combined to make our meeting very successful.
The food was excellent, the atmosphere was very nice and I especially like the live piano music!
We were a party of 10 and the staff was great. I had the special, Blackened Scallops and they were outstanding
This was an ideal location for a business meeting. An issue needed to be discussed and resolved. Good food and pleasant surroundings facilitated the purpose of the lunch.
We enjoy what the owners have done with the "experienced" location. The dining room is pleasant, the food is great, and the service is well done. The cost is very much in line with the value received.
We had a very productive working lunch facilitated by very good food and high quality service. Muncie is fortunate to have such a facilitative venue.
Best dining in the area, one of the best in the state. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is always friendly. The menu is diverse and the food is always good.
As always, great food, great service, great ambiance
Have never had a bad experience and have been a patron since they 1st opened
My husband and I went there for New Years Eve dinner. We were early for our reservation and were immediately seated. Very friendly staff, awesome food , great service . We definitely will be eating there again!
It was super yummy and fabulously tasty. I can't wait to go again. You'll never be disappointed at Vera's
We started a holiday celebration with dinner at Vera Mae's. The food was wonderful as were the drinks. We then walked across the street to the High Street Church for the Masterworks Chorale Christmas Concert. One can have a very nice holiday celebration right here in Muncie. We felt very fortunate to have started our evening with such an outstanding dining experience.
The food was great and the service was good. My only complaint was that we were seated at a table right in front of the door.
Usually LOVE Vera Mae's. On this visit service was noticeably slow, not sure why.
Additionally, we were seated next to the door with no break between us and the cold as the door was opened which made it a bit uncomfortable.
Fantastic as always. Kent & Steve do a wonderful job. Sea Bass was great, they should have it more often. Pork Chop can’t be beat.
Vera Mae's was recommended to us and they did not disappoint! We are not from Muncie and wanted to treat our daughter and friends that are attending Ball State to a nice meal someplace they had not been. We were very impressed!
Great food, great service, great seating. The French onion soup is a must try. Wish I would have found it sooner. It's an hour drive from my house and well worth it. I would recommend it to anyone interested in an upscale dining experience. Great date destination, but also I think it would be great for a group.
The chairs need some type of padding, they at all old and the pad are all thin. Made for a very uncomfortable visit. The food was good but with one exception the strip steak was big gristly piece of meat the you couldn’t even cut. We tried three knifes and all had problems cut what they called strip steak. The banana fosters we ordered had very green bananas and this made them hard and like rubber. After telling the server that the bananas were to green they did nothing about it but to acknowledge that they thought the same. So why serve them if you know they going to be to hard. Overall most of the meals were good but probably will not come back for a average meal and way to pricey for green bananas and a gristly strip steak.
We live there s restaurant
My son and I visited early evening, and wss greeted, and seated by the owner. I had rack of lamb, and my son selected filet of beef. Both entrees were prepared as requested, and delicous. Our entrees were served with asparagus spears, and the rich and tasty, mashed potato's. It was a delightful dining experience. You will not be disappointed, with your visit to Vera Mae's.
Absolutely loved this place. I did think that the noise level of all the talking was a bit distracting. I wish the live music was a bit louder to be heard easier.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We really enjoyed our outing
Vera Maes is always a class experience, food, service, atmosphere and they genuinely make you feel welcome.
Food is consistently outstanding and service is excellent as well. Best dining in Muncie.
We've been to Vera Mae's several times and never had a bad experience. The restaurant provides such a great atmosphere and the food is incredible.
