Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab - Naples Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I went to Truluck’s for the celebration of his birthday. It was a lovely night and Truluck’s provided us with an opportunity to dress up for a great night out. The food is very good I had the sweet and spicy yellowtail which was superb and my husband had the grouper which he also loved. The staff was very accommodating and the manager even stopped by our table to wish my husband a very happy birthday. A rather odd occurrence did take place when the waiter brought over the gorgeous birthday cake, he lit it on fire which was something of a show but as it died out I believe that the waiter, growing somewhat impatient, leaned down and blew out the remainder of the flame. While I realize that waiters are busy I have never had a waiter blow on my food before, very orthodox and a little unpleasant. Outside of this undesirable transfer, we had a fantastic night at Truluck’s and would be astonished to find a single person that upon leaving Truluck’s did not have a memorable meal.
This was my second visit. My first visit was extraordinary. The service and food was the best I've experienced.
This last visit was disappointing to say the least. Our waiter was unsophisticated for a restaurant of this caliber. The shrimp cocktails served had no taste. The rest of the meal was something you could get at any steak house. I would rate this last visit very disappointing, a poor value and will not be back.
Truluck's was truly one of a kind....I still can't believe it's chain! The food was outstanding and the service was exceptional. Get the stone crabs when in season...they are to die for! My boyfriend and I split the king crab legs and a filet with the chefs topping...both were amazing. We went to celebrate his birthday and they put confetti on the table and gave us a baked Alaska that they set on fire for a beautiful presentation. Both were nice touches and made the night special. I will be back when I'm in Naples!
My husband and I have enjoyed Truluck’s a few times . The food and service has always been good with attention to details. This past visit was truly disappointing with the waiter forgetting an entire side dish And when it did arrive it was missing a key ingredient, crab. In addition my husbands steak was totally undercooked. The value for the money was not worth it this visit. We will definitely try Truluck’s again as we are hopeful our experience is not a trend.
We came to Truluck's to celebrate my sister's birthday. It was a wonderful evening. Our server Johnny was very attentive and fun. The manager took the time to come by and check on us several times. The food was outstanding! They topped off this wonderful experience with a ice cream cake that was great! I must visit while in Naples!
Four of us enjoyed a lovely evening celebrating a birthday at Truluck's. The service was outstanding, the ambience very nice, and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. Two of us had the beef filet and two the grouper special offering. All of us were delighted with our choices, and my only regret is that we were not aware of the large quantity of red snapper we would be served. I had about three meals worth on my plate and at least was able to take a good bit of it home, but I would have chosen to share the dish with my friend who also had too much snapper had I known of the large quantity. The preparation was divine, accompanied by asparagus with Bearnaise sauce and some tarragon on the fish. Truluck's surprised us with a beautiful Baked Alaska dessert which we all enjoyed tasting!
We have always loved Truluck’s but this last time has changed my mind. Both my husband and I ordered the Yellowtail. Both were VERY fishy tasting. I sent mine back but my husband ate his. No one checked on our table to see how things were until everyone at the table only had a few bites left. They offered to bring me something else but who wants to eat when everyone else is finished. The bill came and they charged not only for my fish but for other items we didn’t have. To top off the evening my husband was sick all night....I’m convinced it was the fish! I may give Truluck’s another chance but not for awhile.
We sat on the enclosed patio and enjoyed the Halloween happenings around the neighborhood. My husband had the Grouper Pontchartrain which was delicious. And he loved the “small” piece of Key lime pie. Not exactly tiny! I had a wedge salad which I enjoyed. I also had a crab cake with a filled tartar sauce. It was fantastic. The restaurant was lively, as always and the piano player/singer was playing some of my favorites from the 1970s. Such a nice place for a special occasion. Even date night on Halloween.
Our second visit and we all came away very disappointed. Two had the miso sea bass and both commented that Nemo’s was WAY better. One had the filet and described it as average at best. I had the whole snapper and was stunned at the lack of quality. Virtually no seasoning, no sauce, just a plain piece of fish..........at a $60 price. There are too many great restaurants in Naples to return to this establishment. A $300 bill and nobody was very happy.
Terrific restaurant. High end and special. Our servers were outstanding, knowledgeable, attentive and welcoming. We enjoyed an excellent, reasonably priced Pinot Noir. The stone crab claws are a real treat. My wife was pleasantly surprised by the special 3 course menu for under $50. I ordered stone crab claws and excellent Pacific Yellowtail from the main menu.
Great until the end. After a great meal with above level service, the restaurant decided to seat a party of 10 in the middle of the dining room. They took over the restaurant. They were loud and having a good old time.
The restaurant became a sports bar with profanity, singing, and yelling.
We were fortunate enough to be through most of our dinner, but we did leave earlier than we wanted.
It was obvious me that Truluck’s was not concerned with the other diners in the restaurant. I’m not sure I’ll be returning
