Nice place to eat. Very quiet and cozy both we got. The waiter was there to make sure if you needed anything at all times. We have eaten here before and like it . It's a little pricey for what I'm used too. But the meal makes up for it. We had no wait and was seated right away.
Our friends from Southern California were here for a visit. We live in Reno. It was New Years Eve and my birthday. We were a few minutes late because of parking problems but we were seated immediately at a lovely table. We were so impressed that there was a regular menu to chose from. We thought that our waitress was wonderful. We never felt rushed even on an evening where everyone wants to eat out.
Made our reservations with Open Table which is easy to do. When the reservation is made you receive a e-mail confirmation which is great. When we arrived we wee greeted and taken to our table. Libby our waitress was very attentive and prompt. They had a very good selection at the Salad bar and the Lobster Bisque was excellent. Our Prime Rib dinners were also very good. I would recommend the Eldorado Prime Rib Grill.
Went there for my 60th Birthday Dinner. It was absolutely the worst service you could imagine. If I didn't know any better I would have thought we were invisible. We got seated and was served water and bread, then we sat there for 20 minutes before I finally got up and tracked down the manager to complain. He ended up taking our order. When my wife got her steak, ordered medium rare, it was still mooing! WAY RARE! Had to send it back. Instead if giving her a new steak they just reheated the one they initially brought to the table. I didn't even know who my waiter was because we never really had one person waiting on us. For the first time in many many, years, I left no tip on the table. I will never eat there again.
We had tickets to the show and told the waiter and hostess. Our reservation was for 5:00pm with a 7:00 show time. The restaurant was full and the waiter was extremely slow. We waited for quite awhile for our drink orders to be taken. I think they thought we wouldn't realize how long it was taking because of the salad bar but we realized that there was a problem and told our waiter we had les than 15 minutes before we would have to leave. We had the mushroom ravioli for an appetizer but it came and the pasta wasn't cooked all the way. This was the first time I left it on the plate. When our food arrived, we asked for boxes since there was no time to eat. It was ridiculous. The Eldorado gives you 50% off of your dinner if you eat there when buying a show ticket, yet they are completely unable to handle a full restaurant. The waiter said they were closing the restaurant in a week. It is just too bad they didn't close it a couple of weeks ago. The failure on service that happened last weekend reflects on customer service in all Eldorado restaurants.
Great Steaks...we had the Filet Mignon cooked medium to perfection and Prime Rib cooked rare to perfection as well. Dinners come with a trip to the salad and soup bar. The salad bar was disappointing and was just your standard items you can find at any Round Table Pizza salad bar. Coffee and dessert were great...we had the cheesecake...super yummy. Next time in Reno we will definately go back...
Pretty good food though the spinach in the salad bar could have used some attention. I'm not a fan of salad bars in general and this one was the typical tired assortment. It also appeared as if they had pulled a few salads (potato, mac etc) off the buffet line in another restaurant and added them to this one. The blue cheese dressing, however, was delicious!!
Our table was in a bright busy corner and next time I'd request to be seated further back inside. There were certainly plenty of empty tables back there where there would have been no traffic pouring by. The space is oddly broken up.
Still we'd probably go back, the food was fine in a casual environment that is a step up from the typical casino buffets.
I sat at the bar. The bartender Jordan was very helpful and friendly. My first course consist of the Meiomi Pinot Noir and Wild River salad. The salad was fresh greens with sprinkles of cheese and crushed nuts. Just what I was looking for. For my second course, they had good choice of meat, but I was checking out the trout. The only part I was not sure is why it had two staples, couscous and quinoa. Jordan described the special of the day, the sole. I took the sole with a glass of Zinfandal. The sole is a thin fish, but the chef made it wrapping with tender green inside. It was impressive. The zuchinni and red bell pepper was nicely cooked to accompany the fish. They all sit on a layer of resotto. The flavor of the 4 things make the plate really enjoyable.
the food was very good. We had a reservation for 13 at 7:30. We arrived at 7:20 and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. our waiter came to the table 10 minutes later to take our drink order. we had to wait at least 40 minutes for this same waiter to return to our table to take our order. two other parties were seated after ours and their orders were taken and served before us. Our food wasn't served until a few minutes after 9 p.m. .I was not informed that there was and automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill until after the bill was presented to me. I don't mind paying $67 as a tip to our server if earned it which he certainly did not in this instance.we ran a very successful restaurant in Reno for 43 years( Louis Basque Corner) and the gentlemen who was our server wouldn't have been employed there any longer after Thursday evenings experience with us.
I've always enjoyed the Prime Rib Grill and have always had the Prime Rib. Maybe because it was Thanksgiving but I didn't care much for it. Ordered medium rare and got well done. The others that had the Prime Rib were also disappointed. The one that had the turkey said it was delicious.
excellent service Libby was great .
Thanksgiving dinner was the special occasion Turkey dinner was excellent much better than last year, Turkey was sliced thin and not chunky like last year. Food was served hot , hard to do on a holiday. My sirlon steak unfortunately was tuff , but my baked potato was very good and the salad bar and squash soup were good as always.
This was our second year of enjoying Thanksgiving at the Prime Rib Grill. Both this year and last the meals were excellent.
The only critique for both years is the soup. Last year the soup was so salty it was not edible. This year there was Butternut squash, and all that you could taste was canned milk.
Other than that, a lovely way to spend the evening.
Visiting from Folsom and have eaten here several times over the years. As always, service, food and salad bar all very good. Thursday night around7pm and only about 20 of tables occupied. Small beer selection. Good wine choices. Bartender needs to learn to make Long Island Iced Tea's - first one had so much sweet and sour that I had to send oit back. Second was in a high ball glass (????), and while pretty good, not a typical long iced tea.
Stick with the prime rib cooked medium rare, a great salad bar and a good glass of red wine and you will be happy.
Expect about $50/head including a glass of wine, meal, tax and tip. More for specialty items, addl drinks and appetizer/dessert.
Excellent Surf and Turf - During our Girlfriends' Getaway Weekend, we decided on steak and lobster for dinner on Saturday evening. Not wanting to leave the comfort of our hotel, we decided to try The Prime Rib Grill at the El Dorado Resort & Casino. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The staff was very friendly and served us with smiles on their faces. We had hot bread with creamy butter and the salad bar for starters (everything was fresh and tasty). One ordered the Filet Mignon and Lobster with Mashed Potatoes and the other two Lobster with Rice Pilaf which was prepared to perfection. We barely had room for dessert but I decided to try the Banana Cream Pie which was a delightful sweet treat which was baked on site. It was so good that I took one for the road and enjoyed it when I got home. We all enjoyed our meals and enjoyed every bite, and all agreed that it was our best meal of the weekend... We will definitely be back! Thanks El Dorado for making our Girlfriends Getaway Weekend the Best!!!
Nice restaurant. We came her at 5:30 on a Saturday Evening before the UNR/SDSU football game. We were staying at the Silver Legacy and chose this place because you could dine there without having to walk outside (since the El Dorado and Silver Legacy are connected).
The prime rib was good. Thought the price was reasonable for a hotel restaurant. I had the 12 oz. Prime Rib, my Girlfriend had the 8 oz. petite cut Prime Rib. My College Age Son had the 12 oz. New York Steak. My son ordered Medium, but looking at his steak it was more like medium well. I ordered my Prime Rib as Medium Rare and it was done perfectly.
The Soup and Salad bar that is included with your entree was a very nice surprise. Seems like places I go these days do not offer soup and salad bars any more. Soup was Clam Chowder, the Salad bar had an assortment of pre-made salads as well as the standard lettuce and salad toppings. They also had a nice assortment of sliced fruits on the salad bar.
Restaurant was clean and the waitress was attentive. A little noisy and the tables are out in the open, so not sure this place would be good for a Romantic Dinner, but definitely a comfortable dining experience.
Steaks have no flavor. I ordered the filet mignon medium rare, received it medium well. Other parties ordered filet mignon well done, received raw the 1st time and blackened crispy the 2nd time and another ordered the cajun rib eye which had NO flavoring at all (think they forgot to season it) and the cut of meat was mostly fat, especially around the bone, meat was chewy. We were surprised and a little turned off to see a salad bar. It looked good, but after about the 1st 15 minutes of the rest opening, others had "dribbled" their dressings, etc all over the other food and salad dressings, it was unpleasant. On an up note, the man who supplied the water, etc was EXCELLENT! I have yet to find a restaunt in the El Dorado that is worth spending more than $5/plate at. Find another restaurant!
Drove 200 miles, Napa, Ca to Reno to dine at the primerib grill, having a confirmed reservation for Nov 9, 2016 , at 5:00 pm. After checking into the hotel, we went down to the primerib grill for dinner only to be met with a sign CLOSED. After the long drive, having a confirmed reservation, needless to say it was quite a disapointment.
Very disappointed ! My wife and I had a very special friend come to town; we suggested a dinner and show. We took advantage of the 50 percent off coupon associated with "The Producers" show. We were asked by the hostess, the bread person and yet again by our server if we had coupons from the show. We were perplexed (at first) as to why the same question. We are now convinced it is because the portions are different. I ordered Filet and Lobster; market price $65.00. I have seen bigger shrimp than this lobster tail. The Filet was slightly over one half inch thick. Our friend ordered the Filet Brochette ... one skewer with 5 TINY bites of meat and a baked potato. The presentation was not worthy of a truck stop. VERY disappointed. BTW, the show was very good but get dinner at Harrah's Steak House, absolutely superb. Even though we are in our 60's, we go out EVERY Thursday night as "Date Night". Sorry El Dorado it's back to Harrah's or the Atlantis.
Third time visiting the restaurant. The steaks were cooked to perfection. It is clean, the host greeted us with a smile. Our waiter, Aldo, he's just fantastic. He helped with our wine selection and was a great choice. He checked in on us and made our night even better. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for tasty steaks.
We were told by friends and saw great reviews of this place and have wanted to try it out quite a few times but there weren't reservations available when we had came to Reno, definitely not a place to just walk in per our experience. So we had came up for a fun weekend and made a reservation a day before to ensure we could get it. Let me tell you the food was not worth the wait, a huge disappointment I could have gotten the same prime rib at the buffet. We actually had to send ours back because it was over cooked. The salad bar was good and the service was excellent but the actual dinner was less than desired. The price definitely does not meet the quality. We will never eat here again.
We came back after having one of the best meals here last year, was not disappointed! Only negative, and it was slight, waiter didn't ask if I wanted a refill on my drink until it was too late in diner to get one. Salad bar is wonderful! Chicken was very moist.
