Love Melting pot food. Had taken my wife for dinner date on her birthday and she love the touch of romance this place does on request. I would definitely go back to have chocolate fondue.
Service was great but food was okay..
Always wonderful. Our favorite place to eat
I had a great time and both the food and service was great !
The quality of the Melting Pot -Troy is not to the level it use to be. My husband and I began visiting the Melting Pot when it first came to Troy and needless to say we no longer have it on our top 5 list...
This has always been one of our favorite restaurants but this last time didn’t quite meet our expectations. We made a reservation and were there on time but no one was at the hostess stand so we waited for 10 minutes before someone showed up and asked if we had been helped, when we told her no she came back in a minute to seat us. I ordered a strawberry basil lemonade and our waiter came back with a regular lemonade and told me they are all out of basil apologized and said he wouldn’t charge me for it which was nice. We had the troys big night out which was amazing except for when we ordered the bananas foster dessert, he brought out the white chocolate and apologized again because they were all out of bananas. At this point I was very much disappointed because that is really what makes the dessert, I could understand being out of something every once in a while but that was two things I ordered that they did not meet expectation at all. I just expect more when I spend $130 for dinner.
Way overpriced for what you get. Manager was sloppily dressed, and for a newbie, the description of options and directions for cooking were inconsistent. Luckily I overheard the waiter on the table next to ours for better descriptions and directions for the offerings. Fun for a one time thing, but not worth the price.
We were very disappointed with our experience. Service was terrible. We had never been to this establishment and it is not your typical restaurant. We were not informed of cooking options, cheese/chocolate options nor was service prompt or friendly. Manager Trevor was not helpful and left us for quite some time. I would definitely not recommend.
Our server was either high or drunk- eyes bloodshot, slurred words, orders wrong, etc. Very very poor experience.
Waiter and Waitress were super nice but the food was disgusting
Excellent 4 course meal. Service was great and food was amazing.
Very poor service. Waited 20 min to be greeted at the table. Our server changed four times over the course of the meal and our main server didn't even bring us the cheque at the end. Everyone from the hostess to the person who took our bill at the end seemed sad to be working and annoyed that you were there. Not impressed.
We were not finished with our cheese appetizer and it was removed from our table along with the rest of the goodies that went with it. We got our entree and it took an hour and a half before we ever saw the waiter again. Our entire meal took 3 and 1/2 hours total. Our reservation was for 7 and we were not seated until 7:30. We were given chocolate covered strawberries for that inbonvienece.
Poor corporate decision to email locals to come in for free kids meal then charge $18 per kid if they want cheese and chocolate fondue. Not really "kids eat free". Kind of a scam, a bait and switch so to speak. Manager did lower cost to $12 per child. $130 plus tip for 2 adults, a 10 yr. old, and an 11 year old is real steep in my book. Won't be back due to cost but will say the service is excellent. If money is no object you will enjoy. Unfortunately we did not.
We went to Melting Pot for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience ! The food was delicious and we loved the interactive cooking! We had the best server (Rawan) and the entire staff was friendly and personable! We will definitely return !!
Food was good and the experience was great, but parking was a nightmare!!!
The food and service was exceptional!
The experience is great and it is really fun with kids. The service is slow. And the place could be cleaner.
I made a reservation online on Thursday (April 4th) for 8:45 pm, for my birthday for two. When we got there we were about 4 min late and had to wait for about 15 minute, however it wasn't busy. It was mine and my boyfriend first time there so we didn't know that you cook your own food. When the waitress came she kept telling us that it would take about an hour to two hour for us to be done cooking our meal?? She kept making it seem like she wanted us to leave because she obviously wanted to leave and the restaurant closes at 10 pm, so we had good hour. The waitress was so discouraging that we decided to leave because we were starving and she had said it would take about 1-2 for our food. It was our first time and my birthday and the experience with the service didn't go well at all.
My husband and I decided to try The Melting Pot in Troy, MI, per word-of-mouth recommendation from co-workers. I had never been to a fondue restaurant, and it had been quite a few years for him. We went on a Wednesday and played it smart with 7:45 reservations, four days in advance, in which we arrived ten minutes early. Unfamiliar with the area but following our GPS, the building wasn’t the easiest to spot, nor was parking abundant. The Melting Pot Troy is on the bottom floor of a sky-riser, secluded to the side with a questionable entrance. Walking into the double doors, we were more hopeful, thanks to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We pass an incredibly-abundant room full of wine, along with many couples/groups of adults nestled into their booths. There were also a few children in the restaurant, which surprised me because of the fine nature of dining and the late hour in which we were eating. We wouldn’t dare think about bringing any of our four kids to a place like this, so the fact that there was a screaming toddler right around the corner from us COMPLETELY killed our kid-free romantic date night out. When the father finally decided to leave with his little one, our evening definitely got more peaceful - unfortunately, a little too peaceful. We seemed to spend more time waiting on our server than it took to drink, cook our food, and eat. The server we had was very polite and kind, but he must’ve missed the memo where you’re actually supposed to check-up on your table periodically. In between courses, sure, let us digest our food, but still periodically check-up on us! We finally flagged another server down just to pay our bill, completely skipping the chocolate fondue. I suppose that must be typical when you have young college students serving at fine-dining restaurants, which I was honestly surprised to see. We should’ve gone to Morton’s right next door, but now we at least know because we tell all of our co-workers/friends NOT to try The Melting Pot Troy.
Love this place but terrible service this visit.
The way we were welcomed was quite poor, and it set the tone for the evening. We were right on time for our reservation. Four employees were standing at the reception area, laughing and talking. One woman finally greeted us and said we were checked in and she would seat us soon. The group continued to laugh and talk about personal things. After 5 or 10 minutes, we were seated. There were several empty booths near ours, so they weren't overcrowded. It took way too long for our waiter to come over. It took a long time for him to bring the water we requested, and even longer for our drinks. It was clear that the staff has not been trained to value the time of their customers.
Our waiter was exceptional - so fun! Great food! Nice place for a change in Easter dinner!
The food was great; however it’s not really a kid-friendly restaurant.
First time going here so I had no expectations. I cannot think of a complaint about the meal, seating or service. It was cozy, well rounded and relaxing. 10/10
I thought it was average at best. I didn't expect it to take 3 hours+ for 2 people to eat dinner. By the time we were finished, I couldn't wait to get out of the restaurant. The service was insanely slow, the bartender worked at snails pace and we dropped $160 on a mediocre meal. The menu is very ambiguous so i was hoping our waiter could guide us, however he had a significant speech impediment and we couldn't hardly understand anything he said. Obviously, that is not his fault, however it does put a damper on a customer facing situation. This was our first experience at the Melting Pot and we will definitely not be returning.
It's just a bit pricey for the amount of food being served. Otherwise it's a great experience for something special
There were three of us that dined Friday evening. There were many tables open but it seemed that every table that came in was seated all around us. Maybe spreading people around when not so busy would be better. Our server Eric was amazing and we would request to have him as our server again when we next visit the Melting Pot.
Great food and great atmosphere. Great night out!
We love coming to the Melting Pot and have been to every location in Michigan but I have to say that we experienced the absolute best service at your location on Sunday. I cannot remember our server's name but she was so friendly, really helpful, and made our visit memorable by going above and beyond for a special 13th birthday. She was great!
Great experience and our server was very helpful explaining the process.
It was our anniversary and they gave us chocolate covered strawberries!!!!!
This was our first visit and I expected a more high end ambience with immaculate cleanliness, professionally dressed staff, and better parking options. There were debris on floor, our booth seats sunk down too far, the wait staff were in jeans and their clothing were soiled. Parking was horrible, had to walk for over five minutes just to get to the entrance with no valet parking option. The meal was over priced; I was not full leaving the restaurant. There was too much work and wait involved. The waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
The fondue is a great experience. But food quality and presentation can be improved. Have been there two times and service isn't good. Team is nice, but take long to show up and check on guests and do not pay attention to details.
I believe the service seems to have been quicker. Usually it is 2+ hours.. I think you now have bus boys clearing off the tables, which moves things along. This best the thing I recall was moves along quicker. Good time
We frequent this location a couple times a year. This time it was for our 2nd anniversary. Things started off great. Drinks and first course right away. After that the service was garbage. Server had an attitude... came back only to bring the next course. We did not get a single water or soda refill. The server at the table next to us was amazing. Frequently checking on the table.
Went to The Melting Pot for the first time for a birthday celebration and was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress, Dakota, made sure that our experience was a memorable one. The food and ambiance was great!
Made reservations on open table over a week ahead and when we got there they seated us right away but in the bar area. We asked for regular seating and they moved us without a problem. Had the same waiter we had a year ago and were happy for that because our last experience was great...not so this time. He rarely checked on us. We had to ask the manager for drink refills. When the meats were delivered we asked for extra broccoli and never got it. He brought extra dips as we were finishing our meat. We ended up talking to the manager and all he did was give us excuses as to why the service was so poor. Very disappointed. Likely to go somewhere else for my birthday next year.
Great food and service. Could use a remodel. The booths benches are broken and the material is torn.
First time at this location. Overall, the food was as you expect. Rated the ambiance lower because the restaurant could have been cleaner. Dirty floors and most of the tables were left unclean in the bar when we left.
