So, I told our hostess that this was a special occasion. It was my wife's birthday and I had secretly arranged for two of our kids to come in from out of town and they were going to surprise her at the restaurant. Our daughter had flown in from D.C. and she had not seen her mother in months. My reservation had secretly been made for 5, as our youngest daughter, my wife and myself were seated at the table in an small, extremely loud room. Remember, it's a surprise, she doesn't know ANYONE else is coming. So the hostess that I had JUST TALKED to about the surprise brings out 5 menus (there's currently THREE of us) and says, "I'll just put these other two menus down here", to which my wife asks, "why two more menus?". Well, so much for the surprise. THEN, the waiter comes out and says, "Is this the SURPRISE table?" Mind you, the kids haven't shown up yet. To say I was upset, is quite an understatement. I'd been planning this for months. Then, to top that off, he proceeds to tell us that they're out of their two most popular menu items. That'll be the last time we visit The Melting Pot.

My wife and I were on a mini getaway from home and I brought her here as a surprise. We got here and waited a little beyond the original reservation time but they seemed to have their hands full with one of the local high schools having their homecoming the same weekend we were visiting, so it was understandable. That's said, that was about the only non-exceptional part of that evening! The staff there was friendly, the decorations (which as I'm told was Justin's handiwork here), was great for Halloween theme, the lighting was great, and we even got a table with one of the newer heaters. 👌🏻 Cade was our server and was spot on the whole time! Justin (Who was awesome btw) gave him a hand while he was having a rush of high schoolers getting seated in his area, which to me is a great plus knowing the staff can come together when it's busy time. It creates more of a seamless experience. Cade was friendly, knowledgeable about the service and cook times, glasses were always filled, and the sauces too for that matter. I have been to a few Melting Pots since my wife first took me to one and this one took the cake. I would/will definitely recommend them to friends and family near there.

The food was not of it's usual quality! Our Server Ryan would be missing and didn't make frequent visits to table. After serving our water he then didn't come back for 20mins. Must have had to many reservations at one time. This use to be a favorite spot of mine, and I will never visit again. Also lights burnt out in the ladies bathroom, and even after requesting to get them fixed or religious candles they did not. Worst service and food quality I've had in years.

We came for our 20th anniversary, having dined here many years ago, for a romantic and sophisticated dining experience. The food, the service, and the decor were all top notch, just as we remembered. Unfortunately, the other diners almost managed to ruin the night. There was a couple watching the presidential debate on their phone, with volume turned up loud, which made it difficult to enjoy quiet conversation while Hillary and Trump were arguing one table over. (I later noticed that the debate was being shown on a TV over the bar, subtitled with the sound off - a missed opportunity for them?) Our waiter was kind enough to let us move tables halfway through our meal. We enjoyed a delicious dark chocolate fondue course for dessert, while another group two tables over were loudly accusing each other, trying to figure out which one of their party farted. Not exaggerating. I can't fault the restaurant staff on the terribly inconsiderate manners of their customers, but sadly, it will certainly make us think twice before going back.

I brought my parents from Lincoln Nebraska to the Melting Pot in Addison last week and was extremely disappointed I had previously been there before and always had a great time and always had experienced wonderful service. I booked three weeks ahead of time online a table for 4 people at 8PM. They seated us fairly quickly but proceeded to seat us at small table with only one stove. Which is a problem when you have two vegetarians and two omnivores. We asked him if we could be re seated to a table with two stoves and he said no because it was a Saturday and they were too busy. He rudely said we would have to cook the vegetarian meals all first and then cook the meat orders after. After we were seated in a semi empty room it took 15 min. for the waiter to come to our table to turn on the pot and to take our drink order. Once he came and tried to turn on the stove for the pot he realized that something was wrong with the cord. He disappeared to find another one leaving us at the table with no explanation. About 5 minutes later he returned with another cord and was able to fix the problem and left our table again without even taking our drink order. By this time it's about 8:35pm. Another 5 -20 min. later he returns quickly takes our drink order and begins asking us if we are ready to order. My parents who had never been there had no idea what to order or how it worked so I asked the waiter to please go over the menu with them and give them tips on different options. He was annoyed and literally ran through the menu and how to order. When he left to get our drinks my parent still had no idea what was going on. After the orders were put in it took literally about 30 min. to even get the starters out on the table. Terrible service. The food was pretty good but the entire experience was completely ruined by the waiter who could barely find time to come to our table. For a bill of over $200.00 it simply as not worth it.

The meal was good but not worth $300. The menu is difficult to understand for first-timers especially because it was so dark in the restaurant. We waited a long time to even get an explanation of how to order. Honestly. Didn't know what I was eating because it was so dark and I had so little information about the food--3 hour meal because of the long time between courses. It didn't meet up to the expectations I had based on others that had been there.

Horrible experience! Waiter was terrible and it took three different pots of cooking broth to get something that was hot enough to cook our food. After waiter wasted half the meat trying to get it to cook, which he never replaced, he then proceeded to touch the vegetables with his hands and never replaced those either. The came the ice cold chocolate, which we waited 30 minutes for it to heat before they decided the table might be broken! Little apologies for a disastrous (and expensive dinner).

Usually love this place but was disappointed this time around. Food was good but the atmosphere wasn't the same. Music was too loud, old dishes were left behind, and the bathrooms were dirty. Typically this place is great for a date night or girls night out but I am no longer convinced. With their prices I would look elsewhere.

First time at The Melting Pot. Great unique experience, food was good, price reasonable, ambiance nice. Only negative is that the waiters don't wear gloves when preparing the broth/fondue... I'm a bit if a germophobe.

We had a Party of 4, reservation set at 6:45. We left the restaurant @ 9:05. Service very slow. Took 20 mins to just get our water & sodas. Overrated and service and ambience wasn't what we expected. Very dark and outdated.
Server blamed the service on the kitchen which we thought was pretty funny when the kitchen doesn't cook a thing. Your food is raw and you prepare and cook your meats at your table.

Service was very very slow. The server was nice, but at one point we said our kids where really hungry and he said "well they have me working a whole bunch of tables.." so I guess too bad?
You would think it would be easy because you make your own your food at the table.. but it too a long time for the salads to come out, the drinks took forever, the meat forever, dessert a long time. With our two kids with us -- the meal took 3 hours. So be weary.

My wife and I always consider the Melting Pot one of our favorite special date night restaurants. Make sure you set aside a few hours if you're going to go with the four-course option, which I highly recommend. It's not a place to go if you are in a time crunch. If you are wanting to get away from the busyness of life and sit down and actually have a nice conversation without interruption, this is the place to go! Love everything about it. Well worth the price.

We had a great waiter, sadly his name escapes me.
Our food choices were good we started with the Wisconsin Cheddar and the Wisconsin Trio, both fantastic! We all had the California salad. The produce was fresh and the dressing was refreshing without being heavy. Our entrees were The Classic, the Surf & Turf, and two Pacific Rim. We finished with The Original and the Dark & Dulce, both fantastic choices. Where the cheese fondue had ample dippers the entree and dessert were lacking. We requested additional dippers to go with the remainder of our chocolate and it cost an additional $18.
There were eight of us and four sets of silverware were beyond dirty and two of the napkins had been used and re-rolled.
Sadly, because of the very dirty napkins and utensils coupled with the skimpy quantity, for the price, we won't be back and will seek fondue elsewhere.

We hadn't been to The Melting Pot for several years, and we reserve this meal for special occasions. I was concerned with some of the recent bad reviews, but our experience was fantastic! The staff was prompt and courteous, the food was delicious and the pacing was perfect. This is a slow-paced meal, just by it's style, but we were not left sitting with nothing to do for more than a few minutes the entire time we were there.

We had a reservation, I called a little ahead to let them know we were going to be running late due to bad weather. We got there 5 minutes after the reserved time and then had to wait another 20 minutes before getting seated. This was during a slow time and there were plenty of empty seats. Our server was amazing but it took about 30 minutes to get my drink. When I asked what was taking so long, I was told that the fountain machine was broken and they were trying to fix it. I wish they had let me know ahead of time so I could have picked something else. It also took a while to get refills. The food itself was good. I wasn't fond of the lobster which smelled too fishy, like it had been sitting out, but everything else was really tasty. THERE IS ALSO A DRESS CODE, MAKE SURE YOU ARE DRESSED BEFORE GOING.

First time going to Melting Pot. We went during Restaurant Week which was a little busy so it took time for the food to come, but the 3 course meal was great! Love the fruit and bread with the cheese. The 4 types of meats with 6 different sauces. Finally Oreo crusted and graham-crusted marshmallows to pick in melted chocolate and caramel sauce. Definitely plan to go again.

I had 4 courses meal and choose beef and duck and shirimp for the entree.
Beef and duck were not fresh and taste not good compare to the price.
Shirimp was ok.
The most thing I am complaining about is the serving time.
I came in around 6pm on Tuesday, I was not expecting long wait.
I came out from the restaurant around 8:30.
The service was too long. :(

Great place for a special occasion. We take our son here for his birthday every year for the past six years. It is a great tradition. It is nice to have a slow leisurely meal that is entertaining as well. Cooking the food at the table is a lot of fun, and a once a year treat!
