The Melting Pot - Arrowhead Ratings and Reviews
While the food was good, it took forever to get through dinner. The waiter was nice but slow. We were there for 2.5 hours, with a very tired 9 year old. It should not take that long to get through dinner. Plus it was freezing in there, we were shivering the entire time. Overall , not very pleasant.
Very nice restaurant, but prices are on the high side. Was a little uncomfortable with staff asking to many personal questions. It appeared to be standard operating procedures as I noticed that they attempted to engage in personal chatter at each table. I guess some people like that, but it's not for me.
The quality and portions have gone down. This used to be a fun place to go and now instead of large vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower they are serving small carrots and tomatoes with the cheese fondue. Who dips tomatoes in cheese? Just another play on cost reduction and yet the price goes up. I've gone here with my husband before and this time we brought my two kids so paid for 4 portions yet they still brought out the same two portion cups + bread as if I was paying for 2 people. I had to ask for more and the waitress made me feel out of place for doing it. Also, they removed the wedge salad from the menu which was my favorite and my husband went to order the house mule drink and it was $14!
I won't be back and it seems like I am late to the game because for a Friday night dinner this place was dead. Apparently other people already figured this out first. I'm over it and would rather spend $100 on a meal where I can get decent proportions and quality veggies.
I took my wife and adult children to The Melting Pot for Mother's Day lunch. We had not previously been to a fondue style restaurant and were looking forward to the experience. The experience did not disappoint, we all enjoyed experiment with ways to eat our appetizer, entree and dessert.
Unfortunately, the food itself was only average. The white wine used in the appetizer cheese fondue was overpowering; did not meet the adage of "never cook with a wine you would not drink yourself". The entree meats were pretty good, but not to the standard I would expect for price. The dessert was very tasty and we all decided it was the best of the courses.
Overall, a fun place to experience one. Now that it is checked off the list, I can't see spending the money for that meal again.
We're regulars at The Melting Pot. We love the options and the flavors! We had a new server at this time, Zarah and she did a great job. If you haven't been it's a great night out! Not a rush like most restaurants you get to take your time to enjoy your meal and have a nice conversation.
Service was very slow, waiter had to be reminded to bring basic needs like another fork, napkin, plate. Then when glass of wine was requested it was brought to table along with the bill...a bit too late. We were seated next to an exit with a slamming door every time someone walked out. The food was bland, poor quality, and overpriced. I would not recommend and will never return.
I took my Wife here for her birthday. They called and unsold me a Romance package as a private table with rose peddles on the table. Privacy was a thin curtain on a tiny tiny booth on a major walkway, it was noisy and the restaurant was freezing. It was a far cry from from romance. Overall for the cost it was a joke and the food outside of the desert was quite bland. My wife called the experience "fake fancy", my wife was quite disappointed given the close to $170 we spent for two.
Save your money and go to Capital Grill for a real experience.
It was my husband's birthday so I wanted to do something special. The food was good, the service was great, but my one complaint was the restaurant was too dark. We literally had to use our phone cameras to read the menu. Maybe we are just getting old but this was a pain to me. I can not say if we will go back or not. It is definitely "something different".
The experience was horrible! Bad service; poor, cold food! Fondue pots were not hot, just warm. We asked to have heat increased, to no avail. Our server disappeared for a half hour or so and another guy appeared but did nothing! When our server returned he had to take the order again and that serving took nearly an hour! We only had appetizer, salad and dessert and it took 2 1/2 hrs. We took entree home as we had no appetite after so long of a wait. They made us cook all the entree before we were allowed to take it home! For the price, the experience was horrendous; we'll never go back!
It was certainly different that anything we have tried before. I mean that in a very good way. The preparation of the food items was fun to watch and do. The entrees were very good. Just a great time; the staff were friendly and patient with us while we learned the ins and outs of fondue. I would like to try it again.
I think the portions that are brought such as the vegetables for the cheese course are far too small. What was brought for 2 of us looked barely adequate for one person. Also, I'd appreciate more variety of vegetables to dip. Yes, you can ask for more, but there should be enough to begin with especially at the prices charged.
The hostess and our server were very friendly and accommodating which we appreciated.
The music wasn't the most pleasant and was too loud.
The Melting Pot is a quiet comfortable place for either 2 to 4 people. The price is a little high but it does take some time to get through the 4 courses. It can be a little dark for some people but it was fine for us. Joe was an excellent server. This was thebfirst time to the Citadel location but they are all alike. Very good
The cheese fondue was amazing! The main dish (meat) was a little off but I think that was the cook (me). The servers are very friendly and helpful and the meal was very fun and new. This was my first time and I would love to go again. A little on the pricey side. Each 4 course meal runs approx. $50 each. Great value though.
This was my first experience. I was surprised the meat portions were brought to the table raw and we did the cooking! Such a nice restaurant! I kind of summarized it as "4 Star meets Campsite" due to the at the table cooking! (that's meant very positively!)... Very interesting but terrific experience!!! Would go again for a special occasion in a heartbeat. This is not just going out to dinner...it's an event! The only thing I would change is a would try and make the restaurant cooler. In the curtained booths it can get rather warm with the hot plate on. Still...4 stars for this plate! I look forward to my next experience!
