This was the first time I ever ate here. Took my best friend for her birthday because it is her favorite place. The food was amazing, never had anything like it before and it was great. The wait staff were so nice and helpful, very informative, polite. I love how they cook the appetizer right there at the table. A really great place and I can't wait to go back.

I was so very excited to try this place out. I had never done fondue and neither had my fiancé but I wanted to do something different for date night so I made reservations to eat at this place. The ambience was pretty ok and our waitress was very great and attentive!! The whole experience with fondue was fun and different from our normal date nights that we have. I find the place to be great for date night as you can dress up and really enjoy the time you have together cause it does take about two hours from start to finish. However the down side is the food was very bland to us. The cheese which is what they bring out first was good but the rest was just blah. The main thing we enjoyed was the dessert that we ordered at the end but they only give you a small portion and when I say small I mean small but we enjoyed the strawberries and bananas and marshmallows dipped in the choc. Over all I loved the idea of doing something different more than I did the actual place and most of that is because of the price which was 150.00 for two and the food taste was blah but our service was great !!!!

The Little Dipper was hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever gone to! Not only was the food oustanding, the service was excellent. Our server helped us by making suggestions and we did not regret taking him up on them. I will definitely be going back.

We go here everytime we visit Wilmington. It was our first experience with fondue and we fell in love with it immediately and have recommended it to others, as well as invited others to join us. It is, hands down, one of my favorite places ever!

Loved the food and it was a really fun experience!! We had a table of 6, and unfortunately we were hardly able to hear over the music. We had a hard time hearing our waitress but she was great and took very good care of us! Would definitely come back again!

We were spending a long weekend at the beach and decided to spend Friday night in Wilmington. We picked The Little Dipper from reviews and are very glad we did. We arrived a few minutes early and our table was ready. We had a great server who was attentive, helpful and knowledgable. My wife has a shellfish allergy which required the Restaurant to allow substitutions and they did so easily.
The restaurant is broken up for privacy, but we were seated next to a table of 8 which we could not see, but could clearly hear. They were celebrating a birthday and were very loud. That is the extent of my complaints.
Since it was our first visit, our server was very helpful with the options and choices from the menu. Timing was very good, as we had some time to enjoy our cocktails, and we had the right time between courses.
We had a cheese course, an entree and a chocolate course. It was date night so we also got a 1 oz taste of a paired wine with each course. That added some interest and fun. We really enjoyed all the entrees, but must say that the dark chocolate really put a great end on the evening.

My girlfriends and I went to the Little Dipper for a fun, girls night for my birthday. We had an absolute phenomenal experience. We had the best seat in the house by the window overlooking the streets of downtown wilmington. We loved seeing the horse carriages go by all night. The food was incredible. The service was pristine. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The specialty drinks were the BEST I've ever had. The atmosphere was beautiful with dim lighting and cute little nooks for private, intimate, dinners. It's the perfect spot for date night or out with the girls. It's worth every penny. It's officially my favorite spot in wilmington. Kudos, Little Dipper!

This was the second time I dined here and it has been amazing both times. We just did appitizers and dessert both times with multiple drinks. The food, service, drinks, and atmosphere was all great and we will definitely return. Can't remember are servers name, all I remember is king Henry IV, you know who you are and you are a great server.

Once again we selected The Little Dipper to celebrate our Anniversary. We had a reservation later but we decided to come into town an hour earlier and they accommodated us no problem. We had a cheese fondue course with some meat added on and then finished with a chocolate fondue with tons of great dippers. We love this place and it is a great spot to just relax and slow down and eat one fondue forked morsel at a time. The service was great and we had no complaints at all. We will be back for sure on the next occasion to celebrate!

I use to love Little Dipper for birthday celebrations and Wednesday's girls night out. My husband brought me here for my birthday again. Its been a tradition the past couple years. Unfortunately, the quality of service has dwindled over the past couple years. Not very attentive waitress; difficult to get her attention. Only came to the table to drop food off. Also, my husband told the waitress more than once it was a birthday celebration. At the end I was looking forward to my cheesecake and candle; there was none. I realize that seems petty but my husband spent $190. We let it go and ate our chocolate fondue. We weren't incredibly hungry at that point and opted to take it to go. By that time the waitress had dropped off the bill and taken payment and was nowhere to be found. We waited for over 10 minutes to get a take-out container. We finally got a take-out plate, but then there was nothing to put the fondue in. We tried again to get her attention, but after another 10 minutes gave up and left. Waste of money. We will be going with a new birthday tradition next year.

We love LD. Usually service is better. Table set up this time not conducive to good group conversation or meal sharing. Waitress never took our bar drink order. Waiter that assisted was much better. It is my all time favorite so I'll be back.

This is our 4 time at this location and it never disappoints. The staff always seems to be spot on with caring about our experience. In a word the service is EXCELLENT, not perfect.... EXCELLENT. We will definitely be back again.

We've been loyal patrons of The Little Dipper since 2007, and the quality of the food, friendliness of the team and overall experience only improve year after year. We try to eat there every time we're in Wilmington and have celebrated many a birthday, anniversary and New Years Eve at The Little Dipper. Our favorite cheese is Cheddar Ale and chocolate is Half and Half; however, you can't go wrong with any of their inventive and delicious recipes!
