The Ice Bar at Uley's Cabin Ratings and Reviews
A+ experience! The sleigh ride was beautiful, the Decour of Uley's cabin was elegant/rustic, and the entire staff were welcome mean, professional, and experienced. The food was phenomenal --top notch! I will be back and have shared experience with Facebook friends and many others. Thank you thank you!
Uley's was amazing! The food was delicious, drinks at the ice bar outside are fun for before or after your meal. The beer, and wine by the glass lists are reasonable. The food was incredible and priced super reasonably for the quality. The bottles of wine were a bit much for my wallet but otherwise loved the experience!
This was the highlight of our trip!! The sleigh ride and scenery were amazing. The 5 course dinner was absolutely the best we had ever had. We appreciate the chef coming out so we could tell him. I would highly recommend to friends and will plan to do it again next year when we come back. Since I can't ski because of an injury I was thrilled to be able to at least go to the top of he mountain.
Sleigh ride was incredible! I was a little bit disappointed with the food. Everything was good don't get me wrong, however just wasn't as good as I was hoping for (and for the price ~$300.00 w/wine, food, sleigh ride and tip). I got the Venison Shank and my date got the Filet Mignon. The Venison was very dry, even with the delicious sauce they used. Pre-meal dishes were really good I should note (cheeses, soup, etc.). My date's steak was good and flavorful, however was really undercooked to what she asked. Service was fantastic and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Would recommend, but would probably pick the salmon or the duck they were offering instead of what we got.
Uley's cabin dining is a mountain EXPERIENCE~ You go up to the restaurant in a sleigh pulled by a snow cat with apx 40 other guests and it can be VERY cold so bundle up ( hats, gloves, heavy jackets scarfs etc..) but they also do give out plenty of blankets for the trip up and back. The trip up takes apx 20 min and back down less than 10. The cabin itself is very quaint and its very cozy and romantic. The service is pretty good but not outstanding as is the food. We had 4 choices on our visit on Jan 28 2017- Salmon-Duck-Venison and Filet of beef. They also give you a soup and it was a cream of mushroom and also some pita bread with various spreads etc. They also give you a hot brandy cider tea that is quite warm and tasty. We ordered the filet and the salmon and while the food was good it's NOT great and with the $110 pp price tag you would expect more on the great than good side but in reality you are paying for the sleigh ride and the cozy romantic atmosphere. So with a cheap $30 bottle of white wine and the $220 charge + tax and gratuity were were out of there for a tad less than $315- Now you and a date can eat at a lot of great restaurants in the world for less than that so please understand that this place is for a good meal and a romantic trip up the mountain and not a 5 star restaurant type of experience.
Fabulous evening with excellent food, service and ambience. Starting and finishing with a sleigh ride to and from the cabin. Staff, starting with Mgr Lauren, went the extra mile to make the Family evening exceptional!
Thanks for helping to make a wonderful Family memory
Beautiful venue and excellent food. We took the sleigh ride up the mountain for Christmas Dinner. Staff was amazing. Only recommendation would be to price down the menu as it is quite expensive and perhaps include a chicken dish as well as game and gourmet.
Uley's Sleigh Ride Dinner is a special event. To be hauled up a mountain in a huge sleigh while watching the town glitter below is truly magical.
The menu and wine list are surprisingly good. The food is on the heavy side which is what one would expect.
Alcohol is not included in the price. The high price tag is worth it but only for a very special occasion.
The ride up to Uley's was breathtaking. They gave us blankets to help keep us warm. It was beautiful to see the town at night from on the mountain. The restaurant atmosphere is cozy and could be romantic, but there happened to be many small children running around while we were eating. This is not a place for young kids. Even our 12 & 17 year olds did not appreciate the menu choices. It is fine dining. The food was good, but it felt like they were trying too hard to make it fancy. BUT, it the wait staff and sleigh ride made it a worthwhile excursion on our vacation.
This restaurant is located on the slopes about 1/2 way up the ski area at Crested Butte. There is an ice bar outside and a high end restaurant inside. You can either ski up to the location for food and drinks during the day, or ride a snow cat pulled sleigh up there for dinner at night. The food at the restaurant is very high end, very well done, interesting, local, and delicious. The bar outside has a cool scene, and when the sun is out, it's a great place to hang and have some drinks with your ski buddies. This place is definitely worth the trip and an amazing place for lunch when you're out skiing.
We took the sleigh ride to Uley's cabin for Valentine's Day dinner. Valentine's Day can be a tough day for restaurants because they are just trying to get as many people in and out as possible and the food suffers in return. In this case, if you're willing to pay the price, you will be taken up the mountain with a limited number of other couples and wined and dined for a couple of hours. We had a fantastic seat by a window, with only one other couple anywhere near us, and the food was incredible. As good as it was we found it still a bit overpriced, but worth it for a special occasion.
A sleigh ride up the mountain is the beginning of a high end dining experience... Excellent service beginning with the the attractive and engaging stewardess who later morphed into the maitre' d! and carrying on to the personable young Texan who waited our table...
It was fun to take the sleigh ride to the restaurant. The food was good and the service was very good. The staff tried very hard to insure everybody understood what was happening and to insure all were comfortable and well taken care of.
The food was much better than I expected. Often when you do a "dinner experience" the food is not up to par, but in this case it was very good.
We have participated in the sleigh ride dinner to Uley's cabin for several years and it has been the highlight of our Christmas visits to Crested Butte. The 5 course meal is excellent as is the service and ambiance. It has become a family tradition and something we all look forward to, despite the cold and snow, actually that makes it even more memorable! We have enjoyed special memories there and it is both fun for all ages as well as romantic for couples.
The experience was truly disappointing. For $100/head, I expect waitstaff who are experienced and can at least pretend they want to be there. I was never asked if I wanted a beverage and the table was never offered coffee or tea with dessert. With the exception of being at the Lodge, the service was akin to a hotel banquet, or worse. I called ahead about my Celiac Disease – I question if what I was served was actually Gluten Free in that I was up all night after dinner with a reaction. A real disappointment. The only bright spot is my nephew and his girlfriend said it was the highlight of their vacation.
