Dinner at Harvest Grill is always a treat - starting with the setting - Shelton Vineyards- fresh ingredients - a menu featuring Southern comfort food. The staff works hard to make you welcome. Spoiler alert: nice touch that accompanies the check. Also note that you can buy bottles (or cases) of The Shelton wines at their regular retail prices.

my husband have been dining at your restaurant at least 3 times per year for a period of approx 5 years, most of the time with friends.
this is the first time we have experienced poor service. we understand that it was the autumn festival BUT we have been there at this time before with no problems
I was disappointed to see less gluten free entrees on the menu and MOST OF ALL, you removed my favorite gluten free dessert, the peanut butter torte.
PLEASE, PLEASE bring it back!!!!

This was my third time for dinner. There were some things which need improvement. My friend's lamb chop was too chewy, mine was fine. Her salad had too much pepper- caesar salad. The fig tart had wonderful taste but the crust was tough.

I love this restaurant because of the great food and the winery that is one of the best in NC in my opinion. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. I have been here many times and it has always been great. The service was just prefect. Our waitress seemed to know when to be there and outside of that she just left us alone to talk. I have always recommended this restaurant and the wine and will again..

We have been enjoying the Grille for a few years. Excellent food, great variety, with a nice quiet feel to it. Our waitress was Peggy and she was great. It took a long time to get our dinner ''tis time but she made up for it.

This was our first time visiting The Harvest Grill. We enjoyed wonderful wines and our dinner was amazing. Our server was very helpful with our wine selection and such a pleasure. We will add this to our list of special and favorite restaurants.

When we drive from Pennsylvania to Florida to visit our kids, we make a point to stay at the Hampton Inn in Dobson just so we can dine at the Harvest Grill. It is a unique little gem set in a beautiful vineyard. The food and wines are always outstanding, the view is gorgeous, and the atmosphere is quiet and cozy. The servers are gracious and attentive but also know to give diners their space. My husband ordered a Cabernet wine and crab cakes; I had the Riesling along with my filet mignon - all excellent. Dining at the Harvest Grill is always the highlight of our trip and we have never been disappointed.

We have dined at The Harvest Grill many times when we are up in the mountains for the summer. We have eaten here twice this summer before this time and for some reason it was not as good as before. Both soups for the day were spicy. One was gazpacho which we were expecting to be spicy but the other one was described as chicken with vegetables and some pasta noodles. We were surprised to see that it was tomato based when it arrived at our table and as previously noted, somewhat spicy. The fried green tomato appetizer we thought had previously included goat cheese but today it was mozzarella. It was OK but not as good to me as the goat cheese. The selection for brunch was not the wonderful variety of the past but the Corsican wrap was fine. We wish they would bring back the omelettes, etc. of the past and perhaps some turkey sausage and turkey bacon for non-pork eaters? The flank steak was tough but not inedible. In general, the food was OK but we did not think it was as exceptional as in our prior experiences, but we will definitely return to give it another try. The servers and hostesses are always very welcoming and the atmosphere is nice but it can get a little noisy out on the enclosed porch if there are large groups. We still consider it the best dining out option in the area.

The food was very underwhelming. First we received bread that was burnt, dry and hard we told our waitress and she said more bread was in the oven. My girlfriend ordered the special which was the grouper and I ordered the asian smoked ribs. When my girlfriends plate was brought to her there was approximately a 2 oz piece of grouper($18) when the waotress was called over about the plate she informed my friend ( with an attitude) that it was a 4oz piece and reminded her that grouper was an expensive fish(as if we had never bought this type of fish before or had ordered this at a restaurant prior to this visit) we asked to see the manager , the chef came out and to his surprise staed this was not the correct number of oz for the fish and said he would prepare another portion immediately. Lo and Behold here comes the waitress with our bread which was brown on the top but still cold and hard in the center. Needless to say my ribs did not taste like anything Asian that I had had before the ribs lacked appropriate seasoning and they were very dry. At no point were we offered any compensation ie a free dessert or anything. I took a chance an ordered what they called a banana bread sundae. the bread was supposed to be toasted which in my opinion should have been warm, with warm glazed banana chips they were not warm nor glazed. The poor servce coupled with a poor meal does not in my opinion equate to a great experience.

This was our second time there, and it was even better than the first. It's a drive from Winston, but it is so worth it. It's like spending a little time in another world. The grounds are beautiful, and so is the tasting room. We were a party of six, and everyone's food was outstanding!

Food was very good. Service was very slow. I think our server was a bit busy & simply forgot to take our order. Then it took quite a while to receive our food. Our server apologized profusely & had the manager come out to apologize. It took over 45 minutes to get our food at lunch time. It was almost to the point that we were ready to leave when the food finally arrived. I would return again & I would recommend Harvest Grill to friends, but with warning.

We had a party of 10 and weren't the only large party in the restaurant, and the servers rotated amongst tables and did an exceptional job! We had one in our party with an overlooked filet, and they promptly returned it to the kitchen. Her replacement filet was brought to the table by the chef herself and was cooked perfectly.

Our waitress was young and apparently inexperienced. She was very inattentive to our table, and we waited a LONG time for her to return to our table. She promised to bring pashminas to the ladies at the table, who were all cold, due to the a/c. She never provided them, but continued to wait on a larger table. We informed the manager on duty, Frances, who was most apologetic and accommodating. She expedited the food, and did her best to make us feel that our satisfaction was of utmost importance to her. As a final means of keeping our continued business, she announced that they would pick up the tab for our brunch and wine. She is an asset to Shelton Vineyards, and we WILL return.

Very busy at one PM and only two wait staff, but they were able to take care of most people's need. The food was great as usual but menu was different than posted on this site. There were two groups dining so the noise level was higher than normal but in the tolerable range. Overall, an enjoyable lunch experience. The wine was great!
