The Harvest Grill at Shelton Vineyards Ratings and Reviews
Harvest Grill never disappoints. My wife and I went there for a quiet brunch in celebration of our silver anniversary. The food was fantastic, as always, and the service extraordinary. We were seated next to a crackling fire on a very cold morning on the patio. The restaurant even gave us a complimentary bottle or our favorite Shelton wine. What a fantastic way to quietly celebrate this milestone.
Celebrated out 27 yr Anniversary at Shelton and had a OUTSTANDING experience from our stay at the Hampton Inn to our wine tasting to our dinners at Harvest Grill. Great job!! Big shout out to Madison who was outstanding at the wine tasting AND she was out server one evening at Pudders. She’s a gem!😊

W always like the Harvest Grill. The food is always good, with many tempting selections. The outer dining area can either be open in warm weather, or closed in by windows in cooler weather, and the scenery is very nice.
The wines are quite good, and they provide a great variety.
We were greeted upon arriving and seated quickly ( we had a reservation). The waitress came right over greeted us went over the menu took our drink order then cam back with our drinks and took out dinner order then brought bread. Our dinner came out quickly and then our waitress disappeared and never came back to check on us until we were completely finished and we were wondering if she was coming back. Everything was great up to the point when we couldn't find our waitress. The atmosphere is great and a great place to dine and have a conversation and decent dinner with whoever you are with.
The hostess graciously sat us at 5:30 for our 6:30 reservation. We were early because the weather had curtailed our outdoor activities. Blair was our waitress. My wife ordered your Estate Chard and I had the Duck Rabbit beer. Both were excellent. We did not bring our normal robust appetites with us so we backed off a bit and ordered the large Caesar to share. My wife had the Pot Pie and I had the Brisket Mac.
The bus girl, not the waitress, Blair, put the salad dish between us and left. She did not serve it. I called her back and asked for dishes and utensils so I could share the salad with my wife. The salad was very good, with lots of dressing.
I then asked her if there was bread to accompany the salad. Blair finally came by and brought bread and butter, which was very nice, but had to be asked for.
The bus girl served our entrees; mine to my wife and my wife’s to me. Blair finally came by and switched them.
We enjoyed our salad and entrees. However, the service was abominable. Our section of the restaurant was about 2/3 full, so I don’t know why Blair couldn’t serve the salad and our entrees properly. It just took the warmth out of the occasion.
Inside room was a bit dark. Would have like to sit on the enclosed porch, but not available. Service was good. Food was tasty, but a bit over-priced. Disappointed that my salad was just chopped iceberg lettuce. Would have expected a nicer assortment of mixed greens/arugula for the price.
We left Harvest Grill thinking it was a very good restaurant wannabe, but not quite there. We were on a long road trip and stopped there because of the reviews. We made reservations ahead of time. The setting is nice, with the restaurant nestled at the end of the drive up through the vineyards. When we walked in, we weren't greeted for several minutes as two hostesses seemed to be working with one group that was still waiting on some to join them. After we were greeted, we were seated at a table next to a wall. Since it was just the two of us, we thought the tables next to the windows were for foursomes. However, couples were later seated at those tables and some were left empty. We had an appetizer, soup and entree. The appetizer was good, but not special, the soup was cool, and entree was tender and cooked as I requested, but not much taste. Brussel sprouts with it were tough and chewy. The waiter was nice, but not real attentive throughout the meal - missing little touches like filling the wine glasses. With the setting and wine, it was a good enough meal that we would return if we come through the area again, and I would recommend it for others to try. We liked the wine, and the prices for the bottles were very reasonable. We even bought some to take with us, with the one nice touch of having the bottles boxed and ready to go when we left. But as travelers who chose it as a special destination stop, we felt it fell a few touches short of the aspiration of being an upper tier dining experience.
Great dinner here on our way north on road trip from FL. Such a convenient location just a couple miles of beautiful countryside from the Hampton at Dobson exit. Gorgeous setting in middle of private vineyard. Not a big place but stunning surroundings. Food is delicious, I had Grouper which was broiled, I believe, maybe baked, sorry, I can't remember, on bed of wilted spinach and lovely white cheddar mac and cheese. Might sound weird due to my description, but it was delicate and delicious. My husband had lamb chops which he loved. We enjoyed a bottle of their Sav Blanc, my husband also had a glass of merlot and we bought a bottle of their port. All delicious and we are picky about wine. Service is outstanding, knowledgeable and efficient. Friendly atmosphere with a little class.
$40 tender was overcooked. dinner took over two hours. had to get up and stand at the exit in order to get the bill. Would not seat us where we requested . At 7:30 Saturday night only four tables occupied in our section . Outdoor beach music event earlier in the day . Mediocre food and poor service made for disappointing birthday dinner for my wife . Normally good this time not .
We went to the Harvest Grill for our 8th Anniversary. The service was professional, informed and non obtrusive, with just the right amount of attention. We had a very nice 2015 Family Reserve Chardonnay to accompany flavorful crab cakes and a full rack of lamb prepared a delightful medium rare. Very nice dinner to celebrate our special day, and beautiful winery grounds surrounding us.
Went for dinner after wine tasting at Shelton Winery, which is adjacent to to Harvest Grill. The menu offered a nice variety. Our group went with Grouper, Pork Loin (2) and Filet Mignon. Everyone enjoyed their choice and the sides that same with it. As one might expect, the wines were from the winery next door and very good, but a bit shy of exceptional. The grounds are immaculate, overlooking the vineyards and a small lake. All in all, we enjoyed our choice of the Harvest Grill and recommend it.
