The cove trattoria is a contemporary family-owned and operated italian trattoria, bringing italian elegance to every dining experience. Old world tastes blended with new world twists inspire the restaurant’s diverse menu, ranging from chicken saltimbocca, lobster ravioli and pasta rustica, to seasonal specials like flavorful hand-cut steaks and fresh fish. Each wood-fire pizza is hand-tossed and prepared with homemade sauces and fresh ingredients baked in an oversized brick oven. Modern décor and an inviting dining room, complete with local artists’ works adorning the walls, resemble a refined italian family room with an exhibition kitchen as the backdrop. The Cove Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
We had not been to an Italian Restaurant ...
We had not been to an Italian Restaurant that featured a gluten free menu before, so we decided to give it a shot. The experience was excellent, from the moment we walked through the door. The waitress was attentive and happy to answer our questions. The food was great! I lived in Italy 28 years ago, and this food was just as good as being back there. If we ever return to Phoenix, we will definitely eat there again.

It's not for us. The atmosphere felt a bit like a clique, we didn't get the impression it's a place that's particularly inclusive of all races.
My husband said his filet was one of the worst steaks he's ever eaten. On the flip side, my sausage caramelized onion pizza was one of the best I've eaten. The food tends toward the trendy.
My mom has the best dentist in the world, because he gave her a coupon for a free entree from The Cove Trattoria for her birthday. I am so glad he is the generous soul he is, because we had a remarkable meal. Tucked away in the Seville shopping center (just east of 21 Cakes) is this delightful restaurant. The ambiance and decor is pleasing and calm - not jumping out at you as you dine. The noise level was low, but we showed up right as they were opening for dinner, so I don't know what it would be like when they are packed. Mom ordered the prawn primavera and I ordered the tre funghi, both which were exceptional. Mine was literally loaded with three kinds of mushrooms in a light cream sauce. Rather than have the pasta it normally comes with, I opted for the gluten-free linguini, and it was delicious! It tasted just like regular semolina pasta, and arrived al dente, just the way I like it! Mom's primavera was tasty as well, with lots of nice big prawns to accompany the delicious spring veggies and spaghetti noodles. And they conjur up a mean Manhattan, as well! We'll be back!
Consistently good food
My husband and I used to dine here a few years ago when we both worked in the area, but it has been a couple of years since we've been here. Our most recent visit was for a family gathering of five people. The service used to be great; this time it was inattentive at best. Our server brought us a wine list & menus, then disappeared to sit and chat with another patron at the bar. It was happy hour but we would not have know that if we hadn't specifically asked. They used to bring a basket of bread to the table - we had to ask (the runners) for that too. The food is still good and even though the place filled up, the noise level was low enough that we could hold conversations without yelling at each other.
We were very impressed with our first visit!
We were impressed with the sophisticated ambiance, cozy lighting, understated decor, delicious pizza, and attentive staff. We are definitely going back to this lovely gem!
I'm so glad they had an ad in the paper; it is a good way for new people like us to discover what others already know - Cove Trattoria is not to be missed!

The restaurant is in a very nice neighborhood, easy to access, to park and look quite charming. We've been there twice and it was always crowded. We only had to wait a short time to seat and the services are good. The menu is American with Italian accent and we like it a lot. The jumbo shrimps are spicy and loaded with veggies and noodles. The halibut is grilled just right and served with veggies. The best part is the desserts. The teramisu and panacota are just delicious, creamy but not greasy nor oversweetened. In all, dinner at the Cove Trattoria was an excellent experience.
we have gone here for about five years and always had wonderful casual dinners, usually on the Patio. We were inside for New Year's Eve and the ambiance was warm and cozy. The best dinners and dining experience that night. Always wonderful service, too.
Good Italian restaurant
My girlfriend and I went to the Cove on Friday June 12th. Very nice, but casual, restaurant. Server was very courteous and polite, food was delicious, especially the pork loin that I ordered. Nothing major to complain about. Only one minor nitpick: the pre-meal bread was not served warm. Other than that, terrific dining experience!
Not many people in bar or restaurant. Service was average, food tasty but would not return. Many lighting fixtures out throughout restaurant, no candles or lamps. 4 tables full in entire restaurant and only 3 people at bar (even during NBA Playoffs). Not fun, not memorable, would not return.
Good, not great.
This restaurant was quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be. The owner and the maitre'd were very friendly, courteous throughout the visit and the service was timely. I was a little disappointed with the pizza. While it had a excellent ingredients and a wonderful taste, the crust was soft on the bottom and was not really hot when delivered. The ambiance was rather dull, perhaps because it was a Sunday evening and it was somewhat slow.
This was our first and last visit to Cove Trattoria. The food was fine but unremarkable, and not worth the price. The restaurant was very understaffed. Our server was so busy in other areas of the restaurant that she didn't stop by our table once during our meal and something as simple as a soda refill was overlooked.
Love this place!
Found the Cove quite by accident and have returned several times on our visits to baseball spring training. Have never been disappointed with the food (try the gnocchi sauteed in brown butter!), the bustling atmosphere or wine list. It was the busiest night we have experienced there, yet the staff moved like a well- choreographed ballet.
