The Capital Grille - Seattle Ratings and Reviews
Our meals at the Seattle Captial Grille are always excellent as is the service. They have been one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle ever since my wife took me there years ago for my birthday meal! I like that they are centrally located within walking distance of many nice downtown hotels and bars!!
We went for my husbands birthday and I have to say it was a great experience. When they called to confirm the reservation, they asked if we were celebrating anything. I️ told them my husbands birthday.
They asked how his name was spelled. When we arrived for our reservation we received top notch service. Valet parking. Coat check. The whole nine.
Our table was adorned with cute confetti and a birthday card for him. The food was amazing and our server Rod was very attentive.
The birthday dessert was more than we had anticipated. It was beautiful and rich and the plate was so pretty.
We will definitely come back for our next special occasion.
This was our first time. Our waiter, T, was great : service, recommendations, and friendliness. We had the best oysters we’ve ever had, fantastic soy glazed brussel sprouts, and lamb chops cooked just right. It was a special evening enhanced by a wonderful dinner.
Went for a birthday/graduation celebration for my wife who is a steak lover. She absolutely loved the tenderloin with mashed potatoes, which was one of many gluten free choices that were available. I am not a huge steak fan so was pleasantly surprised with the other choices. Was recommended the Lobster Bisque as a starter and the Scallops and Mushroom Risotto as a main course, they were both exceptional. Topped off the meal with Cheesecake with Berries, the unique take with a carmalized sugar top like creme brûlée was great. Our server Jon Fiely was very knowledgeable and patient walking us through the Gluten Free options and had excellent suggestions as well. I highly recommend the Capital Grill and Jon to any and all interested in a great meal in downtown Seattle. *
We often use this restaurant when attending evening events downtown. The restaurant is professionally run and the evening food of very good quality. The service is efficient without being intrusive to conversation.
The only negatives are price particularly having to pay $16 to $20 for a glass of wine.
We eat out in the city at least once a week and I usually love this restaurant but the lack of attention we received on Tuesday night and a Brussels sprout salad saturated in dressing makes me think I will dine elsewhere, especially since they are on the higher end on prices.
This place is great. Our friends weren't able to join us until 7pm. We let the waitstaff know that we all had 8pm tickets at the 5th Ave Theatre and they were able to make sure we were out with enough time to get to the show. The food was great and the service was awesome.
Thought this would be an amazing cap off to our Seattle trip.....and NO...it was so...what is the word....boring. The worst was the service. Our server...name begins with T (out of respect for his privacy) ....paid little attention to us. He walked by us several times without even a glance to pour our wine or ask how we were doing. The few food items we had...the calamari...the lobster crab cakes were delicious. In another setting we would be WOWed by this, but here it was just ok. I hate to give hard working people reviews less than great but I am doing this here. I only saw one hard working person and it wasn't the one we had.
Cool place but nothing more than average as far as the steaks go. It appears they do not grill their steaks? It looks like they either pan sear and finish it in the oven, or broil it. They were good, but not grilled as the name implies. The asparagus was woody towards the bottom of the spear. The caprise was excellent. Service was average. Not bad but not excellent. We had one call cocktail each, one bottle of wine ($105.00), a steak (at the lower price range), and a side of asparagus. The bill was $350.00. A bit over priced for what you get.
This was a very average dining experience for the price. Our bill exceeded $350 for 2, including a bottle of medium priced wine. The food was ok, although nothing exceptional. The biggest problem is that we were seated at the very back by the kitchen and service area. It was noisy and ruined the atmosphere of what was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner. The service was very average also, except the bartender where we had a drink before being seated. He was great. Should have just eaten at the bar...
20 minutes after we were told our table would be ready in 5 minutes, we were sat. One hour before we had our first drink. Three hours and several hundred dollars later - we had experienced cold food, an indifferent server and questionable food quality. This used to be a dependable chain restaurant - never again!
