The Capital Grille - NY – Time Life Building Ratings and Reviews
The food was great. However, the AC was broken and the restaurant was very uncomfortable. What frustrates me is that the restaurant was unapologetic. The staff acknowledged it, but didn't apologize for the inconvenience, mention what the issue was or anything. They couldn't have seemed to care less.
We went to e the Capital Grill for the Great Pour event. I am only sorry that we went towards the end of the event as we would go again. The food was great, the service greater and the wine even greater. This is clearly my favorite restaurant and Saturday just proved why. The steaks we had were cooked to perfection as was everything else we had. Thanks for a wonderful evening celebrating my wife's birthday.
We let the restaurant know that it was our anniversary. They went all out by sprinkling hearts and red confetti on the table, writing us an anniversary card and then bringing us a special dessert acknowledging our anniversary. The food was delicious and the service attentive. We had a wonderful pretheatre dinner!
We went there for our anniversary, we were suprised to find our table was beautifully decorated with rose petals and a celebration card to wish us happy anniversary! 👍🏻😍🌹 It was very touching. The foods were excellent. The steak wasn't what we ordered but it tasted good. We will definitely come back again!
We are always treated very well by our server Ed Sullivan and the entire staff. Food is great and we think this is one of the best places to go in NYC. We were celebrating some special occasions and the extra touches that were provided made it an extra special dinner.
We were given tickets to a play for our wedding and couldn't have picked a better restaurant for our dinning. Somewhat expensive but you're in the heart of NYC. Steak was excellent and the drinks were, too. Letting them know the time of your play helps keep things moving but not rushed.
Never fails to impress! I took my friend here for his birthday. We decided to sit at the bar for dinner. The bartender was friendly and provided great service to us. Every dish was excellent as well as the wine-- can't go wrong coming here that's why we keep coming back!
We were visiting New York to celebrate our 20th Anniversary and chose The Capital Grille for our first dinner out. It was also the last day of NYC Restaurant Week so that certainly made it appealing as well. Oh My Goodness....Restaurant Week or not....the food was fabulous and well worth it; even at regular menu price. The service was outstanding and special thanks go out to our waiter, Bill Sheridan, for making our experience a truly memorable one! Excellent Service and we certainly appreciate it!
Excellent service with little touches like offering a dark napkin so your dark clothes won't be spoiled with white lint. We went for dinner during restaurant week and received a great meal for the money. Loved the sauteed green beans. Not sure of the value proposition with their regular prices, but still a great pick if what you're looking for is a traditional steak house.
I have been to the Capital Grille many times in 15 years of working in that neighborhood. The food is always outstanding for lunch or dinner. Great steaks. Great desserts. Drinks are very good, as well. Birthdays are especially fun. Highly recommended as one of the best places to dine in the Times Square area.
We came here for Restaurant Week and it was a total steal! The food and service were impeccable and the wine was great. I had the NY Strip Steak and my husband had the salmon. Both were really flavorful and decent sized servings. We had chowder and a wedge salad, both of which were also very good. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake and crème brulee and they both tasted amazing!
Making a reservation was easy and a follow up call which was a nice touch.
The quality of the beef was good.
We were disappointed in cooking skills. Rare steak was cooked more than rare medium.
Lobster Mac & C: Mac was raw and lobster juice was not used in cooking it. Much less lobster than in Santa Ann CA location.
Maybe just an off night. I am a Capital Grille fan so will return.
