The Capital Grille - NY – Time Life Building Ratings and Reviews
Had the Cesar salad, bone in fillet, sautéed spinach, bottle of wine and coconut cream pie. Here are my notes: Friendly attentive staff
First time for a bone in fillet, nice Sautéd spinach. The fillet was tender and flavorful. Highly Recommend the coconut cream pie unlike any you have had before. Not too sweet, nice presentation and enough for 3 or 4. Nic stopped by to check in on me , nice touch.
I eat at this location often. Recently I planned a (significant) birthday party for a friend's wife. Everything was wonderful. The wine list is extensive, therefore enabling everyone to have what they enjoy. The management and staff are superb, and when necessary always accommodating. I highly recommend The Capital Grille in the Time Life Building.
First timer, and very impressed. EXCELLENT customer service, 2 in our party ran 1/2 late. The young lady who checked us in was so accommodating and friendly, she advised to keep her updated. We sat at the bar, had a drink and waited for our party to arrive. One they arrived we were seated quickly. Our server Brianna was excellent, she was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. From appetizers to desert, the food did not disappoint. I can't wait to return.
Great food. Steak was excellent. Lobster tails were also very good. Very clean, quiet although very busy, waiter was very attentive as was the entire staff. Great professional service. Well worth the expense. Prices were high but to be expected for a very good restaurant in Manhattan. Not over the top. We had a wonderful time.
We went for an early dinner following a matinee on Broadway as we usually do since we like this place so much. My friend had the pre/post theater menu (you have to ask for it) and had the double cut lamb chops (3) with a starter of Cesear Salad and ice cream for desert. I had oysters to start and the seared red snapper special. Although the Capital Grille is a steakhouse, it is also great for fish and seafood. My red snapper was a large boneless filet that was cooked to perfection. We also had great service thanks to Rikki who took great care of us. We shall return soon.
Took my girlfriend there for Valentines Day...just like everyone else that was there! Service was amazing and we got seated right away despite a packed waiting area. The food came out right away. Was not as good as I was expecting for the price. Service and atmosphere is what you are paying for if you dine here.
The front of the house was amazing... I was running late for my reservation and they were able to change the time for me....👍 but our waiter was ok he didn't check on us, no personality... also it was Valentine's Day and everyone got a rose expect us.....👎 but beside that it was a good restaurant.
Would I eat here again NO!!!!!
My buddy and I went here for restaurant week. This is our 1st time. We really found the food to be tasty. I had the salmon, which the sauce was to die for and a cesar salad and my buddy had the sirloin and ice berg lettuce with bacon and blue cheese. But what we liked mostly was our waiter was absolutely awesome; very attentive and funny. We felt very welcomed also because the owner spent time chatting with us and told us about the theatre menu which we look forward to when we return. I thanked her for participating in Restaurant Week and look forward to this experience again.
I came here for the restaurant week menu and it was delicious. This is definitely one of those steakhouses you check out using restaurant week and then add to your list of restaurants that you'd come back and pay non-restaurant week prices for. The dry-aged steak was delicious and needed nothing - which is how you know a steak is good. I'd definitely recommend the food here.
Ed Sullivan! Remember that name! His service was above and beyond! And I hope I get him the next time my husband and I dine at The Capital Grille Time Life! This was my second time there and I still have no complaints! Thank you Capital Grille for nailing it again 2 times in a row!!!!!!!
I brought my husband here to celebrate his birthday before we took in a Broadway show. He was so impressed by the handwritten birthday card on the table when we arrived. Our server Princess was absolutely wonderful and made a point to know our names. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the wine menu was outstanding. We will definitely go back again!
We had a 7:45pm reservation and was there by 7:30pm. Waited at least almost 25 mins before getting seated. We were served by Michael and his service was impeccable. Good food, however lobster mac n cheese was so so. Although crunchy but it was dry and not enough cheese. I feel Del Frisco has the best mac n cheese. One star minus was that they didn't give us the bread basket until we saw another table having them. Anyhow we didn't care for and having so much food in the table. Overall everything was good.
Have been several times for lunch. Service was particularly poor today--wait staff arguing over covering our table. Aside from waiting almost an hour for our meals, we had to send entrees back for two diners in group. Wait staff members (2) we had were a bit rude. I more than likely will not go back.
Steak came out kind of cold. Not sure why, I asked for a medium and it took awhile to come out. Maybe someone forgot to bring it out?? Friend's salmon was pretty delicious though! Server came by twice- once to take our order and once to give us the check. Had to ask for a refill and he dropped it off without stopping. Wasn't asked how our food came out or how everything was (which is why I just ate the steak). Being a server myself, I know sometimes it get busy and you get behind. A simple "sorry I wasn't around, it's a little busy today" would have made me feel a little better about the lack of attention.
I love the ambiance and atmosphere the waiters are friendly and courteous the food is great i dont like vegetables but i eat them when i go here and the drinks are cool and refreshing and the ladies room is clean and spacious overall experience marvelous and splendid
Our experiences at the Capital Grille are almost always excellent, but this time it fell woefully short. My wife wanted her steak cooked well done and it arrived medium rare, I asked them to hold my steak while they cooked hers correctly and when they brought them back mine was over cooked and had to be redone, so the goal of eating together was defeated. The steak they finally brought me was cooked right, but had no char on the outside and was the thinnest steak of I've ever had in a steakhouse and it certainly didn't taste like a quality dry aged steak. I think I'll avoid during Restaurant Week.
The first waiter we saw is/was always GReAT! Tall guy with long hair. I think EDWARD? But then mostly saw short dark haired gentlemen who was abrupt and short at every turn. And in general the service was very slow and not very attentive. We had to flag sown
