Amazing experience for my wife and I's first wedding anniversary. There were flower petals on the table, exceptional service (both the waitress and the manager congratulated us on the anniversary). The food was outstanding - great portion sizes and my steak was perfectly cooked. We are hoping to make this an anniversary tradition.

Way too many tables crammed into the back dining room. I basically had to sit in a thoroughfare and got bumped several times by servers and other patrons - all so Capital Grille could squeeze another table into a tiny space. Really disappointing. For a dinner that cost nearly $350 for two people, it was really disappointing to be so crammed.
With that said, our food was excellent and our server (Julie) was exceptional.

I have been to the Capital Grille on one other occasion and my experience was great! I was disappointed in the my experience this past Saturday. The food was good however the waiter was not. I was disappointed because he seemed to rush the group and not allow us time to decide what we wanted, granted it was a late dinner seating. The bigger issue was how the waiter reacted to the champagne bottle that exploded behind the table and got several us drenched. He was very flippant and did not seem to be concerned about the incident. I usually don't respond to surveys but I did feel that it be necessary to write something.

The restaurant came highly recommended. Was disappointed in the size of the bone in ribeye. It was tasty but for the price. Would have been better off going to the Waffle House. For 50 dollars plus. You would expect a nice size steak. It was less than 1/2 in thickness. Will go somewhere else next time I am in Kansas City for a steak. Everything else was great. Exceptional service. That was the best part of our dining experience. I loath a thin steak. My family is in the food and beverage and hotel business. I hate giving a bad review. But don't order a bone in ribeye.

The service was excellent and our wait staff very professional and courteous. The food was outstanding. They will give you a tasting of wine if you desire, if the wine is sold by the glass. This was helpful to us. The prices are a la carte for sides but they are for sharing and plenty to share. I would definitely eat here again when I am in town.

Jo Ellen was probably the best server we have ever had including our travels throughout the US. I highly recommend making a reservation and requesting her. It's worth the time. She made our experience memorable and it was greatly appreciated.

We have been to multiple Capital Grille locations where we walked away boasting about the food quality. Unfortunately, it was not the case this time. Steaks were overcooked, One guest ordered the ribeye, returned for being overcooked and came back overcooked a second time. Two filets were ordered at the table, one small, one large ( oz. ) -both were the same size. The couple we were with had been to the KC location twice in 6 months. Experience was the same both times!
Service was excellent, as always.

My wife, friends and I went here prior to going to the Starlight Theatre for a concert. The food was GREAT; the server was pompous for no reason (except we were not André Dawson or George Brett); the atmosphere was perfect; the wine was good; the price was in line for a quality meal. I recommend Capital Grille as you probably will not have the server we had.

The bisque was excellent.
Waiter was condescending. The wine menu was incorrect and the waiter made no excuses
recommendations for a substitute or apology. He brought the wrong wine.
Steak was overcooked.
We had reservations. They seated us near a very large table of women in the back that were very loud. When we asked to be re seated they sat us near the kitchen even though there were other tables open. When we asked the hostess she said we had to make a 'special' request to have a better table. Certainly not customer friendly.
Waiter brought wrong side dish and again checked to make sure we had not made a mistake. He brought the correct dish eventually.
Very surprising. This is the place we generally can count on for excellent food and service.

This was an anniversary dinner out with my wife. We've been to CG probably 6 or 8 times in the past few years. We generally go on special occasions only. The staff was good, but it was obvious the waitress assigned had larger, likely higher paying and more demanding tables to tend with. We were there well over 2 hours and for many that is what they want out of the experience of CG. We were offered and accepted a couple of perks (champagne and an anniversary dessert plate) that were not just very small tastings. I have noticed the prices have sky-rocketed in the past 6 months to a year. I know I'm old school, but a house "glass" of Chardonnay for $13 is a bit ridiculous, especially when a "glass" is only 1/3 of the glass. Time was it was 3/4, then 2/3 and most places now are at 1/2 glass. But this was clearly 1/3. I am aware CG is considered a high end place. But it this time fell short of 5 Stars.

Had a great meal, before attending the Plaza Art Fair. My wife and I shared the grand plateau (or something like that) which was a huge double-decker seafood appetizer tray. Contained two lobster tails, oysters, jumbo shrimp and lump crabmeat. It was outstanding. That, plus a soup or salad was a full meal for us. We received very attentive service.
If you want a quieter table (as we did), request a table in the back.

CG nails it every time . Stephan was our server-ask for him--he's amazing and made our Anniversay flawless. The food is superb (he orderd the ribeye, me: Gorgonzola bone-in strip), even our drinks (a chocolate martini & old fashion) were the best we've had in KC!! Don't go anywhere else for your special occasion this is THE place in KC!

We have always loved capital grille, but this recent visit was lacking in the food department. We've always told everyone how wonderful your food is, but I have to say that this time it wasn't that great. We'll still go back to the other capital grille's, but may not come back to KC. The food quality just wasn't there this time. :(

terrific meal and the service was oustanding, my wife loved the decorations on the table to celebrate the birthday and the wonderful desert. Only complaint was the filet was undercooked, but after it came back it was delicious.

This visit was to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We had also celebrated our last three anniversaries here also. We were first introduced to Capital Grille in Dallas Texas and
needless to say it was love at first bite. We actually are from Saint Louis Mo and never
miss coming to Capital Grille when visiting KC. I hear Saint Louis will soon be opening
a Capital Grille. You bet I'll go but KC will always be my favorite.

I consider Cap Grille a very premium steakhouse like a Mortons. So I really don't have a problem with paying a little over $100 per head. What i was disappointed in was the experience and ambiance. Way too loud especially in the bar area. Tables were too close so it didn't feel very private and did help the noise level either. Our server was super attentive but we were sat 15 minutes late despite being 15 minutes early for the reservation. Didn't have a drink for 20 minutes and didn't get the order taken for over 30 minutes. Might have been an off night but I expected better

The food was very good, and our server was excellent. My only complaints were that the noise level was very high and made it very difficult to have a conversation with my dinner companion, and the evening was pricey.
