The Capital Grille - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
Still probably the best steakhouse in Baltimore to me. Even though Restaurant week, we got seated promptly, good service, despite a couple minor things, they over compensated to make things not just right, even better. Steaks and Tuna were excellent, bread as always, and service took care of us well!
We went to the Capital Grille for the 1st time during Restaurant week. We had dinner reservations before the Oriole game on a Saturday evening. Manuel Harris was our waiter and he was excellent. He did such an amazing job. We also received a visit from the Manager and Owner during our meal to check on us. The food was outstanding! The drinks and Manuel's knowledge of the wine list was impressive. What an excellent dinner and such a professional staff. We will come back again. We loved it!
TRIFECTA! We hit the trifecta!
SERVICE – Mark, the consummate server - he always makes us feel so welcome and he delivers the best service.
RESTAURANT WEEK MENU – Delicious – we enjoyed the wedge salad with blue cheese and Nueske’s bacon, the Caesar salad with Gran Padano Cheese croutons and the New England clam chowder to start. Our entrees were the Porcini rubbed sliced tenderloin and two 18 oz. bone in Kona rubbed strip steaks. Our steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked to our specifications. To finish we enjoyed the flourless chocolate espresso cake and two classic crème Brulee.
THE GENEROUS POUR – Superb wines! It was really nice to be able to try the 7 wines that you offered for $28.00 - three whites and four reds.
We thank you for a delightful dining experience.
Wow! What can we say?! We have chosen this capital grill for many special occasions particularly our anniversary and as always we were so glad we did! Everyone from the reception desk to the bus staff made us feel so welcome and celebrated our special day with us! We can't say enough about our awesome waiter Carlos Ramirez who definitely went above and beyond including taking our picture and framing it for us before we left. And oh, the food! Beyond wonderful and there is just no better place for an amazing meal and feeling like you are at the fine dining establishment it is!
Thank you again to every staff member including managers who stopped by. All of them made it a very special night for us!!
A tried and true classic. Have been to Capitol Grille on several occasions, but the restaurant never fails to disappoint. Made a return visit for Restaurant Week. The Restaurant Week menu appeared to be identical to last year's. Our party ordered items from both the "a la carte" and Restaurant Week menus, as well as the wine pairing. The wine pairing was $28, and we each received 7 glasses of 90+-point-score wines. The Filet Mignon with Jumbo Shrimp, as well as the Lobster Mac & Cheese were both very well-received, though all items were to our satisfaction. Hope to return to this restaurant soon.
This was our second dining visit for The Generous Pour event. Our Waiter Mr Mark Wiedorfer treats us so well, we plan our visits around Mark's schedule. He knows our likes to a T. We will be back one more time, what a great event, our 8th straight year. Thank You Mark and Capital Grill. Danny and Elaine Moffett.
Great dining experience. We recently had a bad experience and went back to give it another try. It was excellent. The manager and the wait staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food and service were terrific and we will definitely be going back.
Great experience, as expected. Scott, our server was very attentive, and it was obvious that he wanted us to enjoy our meal and know all that Capital Grille had to offer. He offered his advice when asked, but was sure not to make us feel pressured to make a decision. As for the food, everything that we ordered was superb, as anticipated.
We dined at the Capital Grille for restaurant week. Our waiter was Paul (P. Quinn). He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable and helpful. He recommended an excellent wine that paired wonderfully with my meal.
Bryan and Patrick at the bar were excellent as well.
When I want to thoroughly enjoy an excellent meal with wonderful service, I go to the Capital Grille.
Once again another excellent dinner at The Capital Grille. By far our favorite special treat restaurant not just for the food but also for the service. I ordered the filet (medium) and jumbo shrimp last night but my filet came out just a touch medium rare so I asked our server, Paul, if I could get it cooked a minute or two longer. Paul went above and beyond. I rarely send food back and always kind of feel bad when I do. He was very nice about it. No grunts, no eye rolls, and made me feel like it was no hassle at all. A few minutes later Paul brought back my steak along with extra shrimp (I had already eaten 2 before sending my plate back) and another order of truffle fries! I wasn't expecting any of that but it just goes to show the high quality experience and superior service Capital Grille strives to maintain.
The only reason for not returning to this location is because we live near DC. We made reservations before a concert (Lamb of God and Slayer for anyone taking notes) we were attending and it was a good decision.
We brought our own bottle of vino only to learn this location does not provide bottle corking of patrons' bottles. But no problem, the host asked of our plans for the evening and after learning that we were going to a show, let us know they could hold our bottle for us.
Our server was Jackie and she was wonderful. This was during their Generous Pour event and Jackie knew her wines. She even poured the Zin a bit early because she knew it would work well with our appetizer. Aaaaand she was not wrong about that.
Even with the tables filling up around us, her attention did not waver.
Capital Grille always delivers on great food and wonderful service.
Noisy as hell. Dined dozens of times at Capital Grilles across the country and this experience was miserable. Even the wait staff was distraught and hoping that the place would empty at some point to restore dignity.
Not in any rush to ever go to this CG again. Food and service was very good but not at 80+ decibels.
This is basically your typical steakhouse but they do have a few more non-steak choices than many other steakhouses. The lamb chops and the filet mignon were excellent. The scallops were over salted and disappointing. The cream spinach and potatoes au gratin were exceptional. The wine list is on a tablet and I don't do tablets. I asked the waiter to show me available wines from Spain. I had about 10 wines in a wide price range to pick from and all the wines offered were very good labels. Our waiter, Paul was very professional and knowledgeable. He was attentive without being overbearing and he had a great sense of humor.
