About The Boathouse at Sunday Park
The Boathouse restaurant and event spaces wed the town’s impeccable waterfront views with authentic, locally-sourced cuisine. I've nothing negative to say about our experience. The waitstaff, food, management, view, decor and overall atmosphere of the restaurant was commendable. We especially enjoyed the Motown playlist and the servers ability to introduce us to tastes we hadn't experienced before.

The manager made a point to walk around and make sure each customer was happy and taken care of, often going the extra mile to ensure repeat customers. This was our first of many times dining at The Boathouse in Sunday Park!

Came here for our anniversary with our 2 year old son & it was the perfect atmosphere for him. He loved the water & lobster tank. Only complaint was the special was the rockfish & it was a little dry but other than that everything was great!

This is becoming one of our favorite restaurants in Chesterfield County. On the waterfront (Swift Creek Reservoir) with beautiful views especially at sunset. Varied menu with lots of good choices. The seafood selections are our favorites including the crab cakes and rockfish. Limited but creative deserts. The wait staff is very courteous and knowledgeable.

Really enjoyed the crab cakes! The shrimp and grits were great as well. Went there for our anniversary and the staff treated us exceptionally well. They gave us a free desert to share! We chose the creme brûlée--very tasty. Beautiful setting. Fantastic place for dates/special occasions.

Service was fantastic. Crab and artichoke dip was delicious! Crab cake sandwich was just ok. So glad the $32 crab cakes were not ordered assuming it is the same crab cake as the sandwich. Shrimp and fish were good. Great atmosphere.

What a wonderful experience! I cannot say enough great things about The Boathouse. We had a awesome meal, great service, and beautiful view. We got a table on the deck right on the water. I let them know ahead of time that it was a special occasion. The manager came out and spoke to us personally. I have recommendedThe Boathouse to all my friends and family. I will definitely be going back there again!

Outstanding! The phenomenal waterfront ambiance is matched equally by professional service and exceptional food. Gorgeous waterside seating with live music. Friendly and timely servers. Sincere and caring front of house management. Not to mention the mouth watering and beautiful appetizers and entrees. This is now our "Go To" Midlothian Restaurant! - Robert W. Dodge

One meal was given with raw shrimp on the plate and steak was just seared. By the time the meal was presented the second time everyone else at our table had finished their meal. This meal was eaten quickly and I'm sure it was not enjoyed. Patron was charged for the meal. Shame on the Boathouse.

I was a little disappointed. We arrived at 6 and it was great at first because we had made reservations and were seated immediately. Waitress was excellent took orders got our appetizer right out. Then nothing...we watched everyone around us eat salads and entrees and we got Nothing. We did not get our main course served to us until after 7:00 and no one really did anything. Also after our appetizer we were never offered bread while waiting. Also no compensation was given to our $150 check that I paid and the $30 tip I left.
I was disappointed to say the least.

We took some guests to Sunday Park for dinner on a Thursday night and we sat outside. The outside lighting, scenic view and band playing in the background created the perfect ambiance. The staff was attentive and the food was delicious. This is a neighborhood gem!

Great evening, anniversary dinner! Dined on the porch overlooking the reservoir, weather cooperated. Service superb, dinner delicious what more needs to be said. Price as expected, but worth every penny! Only one minor suggestion -- bowl of clam chowder could have been more -- just a little shy of expected amount. Taste was fantastic however. Good evening.

When we arrive for our reservation, we were told our table wasn't ready yet. There were 3 or 4 open tables. I inquired about the point of having a reservation (and there were open tables) if were going to have to wait. The hostess rather curtly said that there is no guarantee of sitting outside. I did request outside dining on the reservation. After about 10 - 15 we were sat at one of the table that was open when we arrived.
The food was okay. The 2nd martini I ordered was 75% olive brine with just a splash of vodka. I was very disappointed with that drink, especially since it cost $10.00
The service was fine.

Too expensive for us - luckily we had a gift certificate, We were in a back corner of sorts so didn't have a scenic view. Food was good. Five scallops would have been better, esp for the price. Waitress was excellent. My bread pudding was very hard (burnt), so was brought another one, manager came over, and we weren't charged for it. That was nice.

The view is absolutely lovely, if you are lucky enough to sit by a window, or sit upstairs, or the weather is cool enough to sit outside and enjoy the lake.
The food is delicious. I've been three times over the past two years and have never been disappointed in my meal selections. My first visit was for a Mother's Day Brunch (not the best time to critique service, food, and ambiance). My second visit I ordered from the appetizer menu and was very pleased. Sat lakeside and was very pleased. Service was excellent. Noise level was low. This recent visit, my sister and I were seated inside on the first level, in the middle of the room. We ordered from the entree selections (very pricey!). My sister ordered the rockfish entree and I ordered the Risotto Primavera. The server asked if I would like to add shrimp, or scallops, or another protein to my dish. I went with the scallops. The dish arrived with 2 scallops on top of the risotto. Both meals were delicious, as was dessert.
Then the check arrived. The original price of my entree was $18.00. Two scallops added an additional $12.00 to the cost!!!!! $6.00 per scallop. That's outrageous. I will never go back. Who does that without advising the customer what the upcharge will be?! So, instead of paying $18.00 for an entree, I had to pay $30.00 for my entree. Instead of paying with cash, I had to use a credit card.

I ordered a filet steak that was cooked just the way asked for and tasted great. They don't serve baked potatos but I got mashed and they were good too. Came with mushrooms. We shared a Caesar salad and it was perfect for two. My wife got seafood and she also was pleased. It was a night for wine tasting so we tried some samples. Crème Brule finished the meal. Was a great night.

First time at The Boathouse at Sunday Park. Amanda our waitress was great just busy which caused her delays. However she had a good spirit and was always smiling, showing no signs of frustration. The food from our salad to the crab cakes, spinach and fries was all very delicious. The best crab cakes I've ever had. Thank you Amanda for a very

My husband and I enjoyed your establishment very much. The waitress was very sweet and waited on us hand and foot. The only downside was our table was right beside the bar. When I called I told the girl we were celebrating our 33 wedding anniversary. I would have thought a little more forethought would have gone in to the seating arrangements. W cannot wait for The Boathouse to come to Hopewell!
