Because our son had told them it was our anniversary, they were especially attentive - even surprising us with champagne before we left. The food was creative, delicious and plentiful. Blue Point is one of our favorites!

After having had an amazing dinner at Blue Point this summer - having not been here in years- we decided to spend a birthday celebration here recently. True to form, our dining experience was fantastic. Wonderful ambience, service, food, & scenery.

The food was terrific and the service was even better. Mark did an outstanding job, his timing and attentiveness was perfect, and he was a pleasure to talk to. Looking forward to our next trip to OBX and another night at the Blue Point!

Tim was our server...with a great memory and a good sense of humor. I thought the flounder on a bed of mushrooms, sausage, and apples was especially yummy, and our friend loved the classic crab sauté. We love coming to BP in all seasons, and the fall sunsets are very fine! See you soon. Thanks.

From the warm welcome to the truly attentive and superb service, to the brilliant food and wine, this is our totally top restaurant on the OBX! The bartender came over to chat about our wine selection, and his input was great. Our server was both knowledgeable and gracious. There was an issue with our reservation and the owner was wonderful in every way. We shall return, all the way from Houston, as much as we can! Best Crab soup ever, and it was a truly exceptional dining experience!

The Blue Point never disappoints. We frequent the restaurant at least 2x-3x each year and we continue to be impressed by the attention to detail, knowledge of the staff, and the creative food options. The staff goes out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. Can't say enough good things and thank you for making my wedding anniversary such a wonderful event!

Dinner at The Blue Point is always fun and very good food. I typically get the crab cakes and made the mistake of trying the crab/salmon entree which was just OK. Everyone else enjoyed their entries and the key lime pie was a hit. We have been going to Blue Point since it opened in 1989 and will always make it our #1 favorite spot in the Duck area.

We have great expectations whenever we visit the Blue Point, and they are always met. It is hard to choose among great appetizers, terrific soups and salads, notable entrées, and delicious desserts. I almost anything you choose will be a winner. The Apple cobbler with lemon buttermilk ice cream was terrific.

Went here twice in a week and could easily have gone more then that. We make it point to eat here every time we vacation on the Outer Banks. We've had the good fortune to invite family and friends here as well, always to rave reviews.

My husband and I discovered Blue Point on one of our trips to the OBX and continue to visit each year. This year we traveled from Southport, NC to the OBX for one night just so we could have dinner here! We always make a reservation to sit at the bar...the bartenders are the best. Blue Point never disappoints!

Always good, always reliable. We trade between Ocean Boulevard and Blue Point each time we come to the beach. This year it was Blue Point. Had a great table, plenty of room around it so no nosy neighbors. It had a good vibe, abit loud for easy talking but not too bad. The food was excellent...I had the North Carolina crab saute...ate every bite. My husband had the biggest pork chop I've ever seen and apparently our neighboring table had ever seen! Impressive. Plus a generous wedge of mac and smoked cheese, and an interesting slaw. It meant plenty of leftovers for home! We shared a bottle of Prosecco but skipped dessert. The result of too generous entrees which can be a good thing. Love being able to see the water, as a bonus.

We recently spent a week at the Outer Banks for our annual vacation. We had dinner at the Blue Point two times during out stay. It is our favorite restaurant in the northern Outer Banks. The food is always excellent, along with the service. Can hardly wait until our 2017 OBX vacation to eat at the Blue Point again!

The staff was friendly (it was my birthday and each waiter, it seemed, came by to wish me a Happy Birthday, though I had never been there before). We had a wonderful table overlooking the water. The food was absolutely delicious and the prices weren't too high. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a memorable experience.

On recent trip through OBX, we were looking for non-chain, elevated dining options. Our entrees were creative and deliciously prepared. The location on the sound featured an breathtaking sunset. We enjoyed our evening at The Blue Point.

We always make a "point" to make reservations for Blue Point when in town at OBX. An outstanding dinner every time that never disappoints ! Great, friendly service as well. Be sure to make reservations and try the She Crab Soup !! Holy Toledo !!

Our meal was OUTSTANDING!! We started with she crab soup with a touch of sherry, fabulous. I had the saute of calamari with smoked sausage, tomatoes, roasted red pepper, olives and capers. That was unbelievably good. Our dinners were crab cakes and sauté d lump crab with smoked salmon and herb onion spoon bread. Both were outstanding. The best might have been desert. Ginger ice cream with ginger cookies and caramelized ginger over apple butter. We enjoyed an after dinner drink sitting at the sound and watched the sunset. That was a WOW. Can't wait to go back.

We have been going there for more than 20 years, and it is still outstanding food and service! It is especially lovely to see familiar faces of servers, and owners! Nice to be welcomed back! It is our favorite OBX restaurant :)

Excellent as always! I had the salmon special over soba noodles and it was delish. Others had the beef, scallops and catfish. All were very good. Tried the calamari starter and it was a nice and lighter change of pace. A wonderful place for date night or out with friends.

Dined at Blue Point three times in two weeks. Each time was excellent. Had different fish preparations: tuna perfect, salmon the best ever. And I've eaten in many great restaurants around the world. All very creative, beautifully developed flavors and seasoning. Who would know there is superb dining in Duck!

We had been here several years ago and thought we would try it again. The first problem occurred when we were seated In the dark restaurant the light above our table needed the bulb replaced. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to see the menu. When asked if we could move to another table we were moved to a table next to the original. They sat another couple at the unlit table.
Two appetizers were ordered. A chilled potato soup. Too much cream and too many chunks of something unidentifiable made this very unappetizing. The fried green tomatoes were what was expected. The problem was the crab meat topping. It was like cat food in looks and the taste was not much better.
A tuna entre was almost ruined by a sweet tomato jam on top of the tuna. The tuna was cooked perfectly and when the tomato scraped off was quite good. The catfish was cooked nicely but the slaw plus a sauce was too much. One or the other but not both.
I hope this was an off night and not common.

We made reservations before going to the Outer Banks because this was on Open Table's list of 100 Restaurants with Best Views. We had a good view from the boardwalk outside, but once we entered the restaurant, we couldn't see anything from where we were seated. The only people with a poorer view were the ones seated at the bar with their backs to the water. (I figured they weren't there for the view anyway.) We asked to be moved to a table by one of the many windows, but were told that wasn't possible, even though 3 window tables opened up while we were waiting for our food. The food was good but pricey, and certainly not the best we had while visiting the Outer Banks. If we should ever return to the Outer Banks, this won't be on my dining schedule.
