I was very excited to go to this restaurant. The interior is simple but classic.
The atmosphere good. There is a little bit of noise coming from the open kitchen, it may be a nuisance to some people.
The service was excellent. The menu a little bit limited. The food was very tasty but not worth the price. The portions vere extremely small for the price asked. Overall I felt a little bit robbed, I was expecting more (I don't mean just the portion). For a historic building it's not enough. I wouldn't go back anytime soon.

The service and food was great!
The staff appears to be knowable regarding food and wine which adds to the enjoyment of the meal and provides a pleasant ambiance.
Well worth the visit particularly for special occassions.

I wouldnt normally go to an Italian restaurant to have a low carb meal, but easily found great low carb options (lamb chops) and the restaurant easily substituted risotta for seasonal vegetables.
The waitress we had was entirely professional and ensured we were on time to an event we were attending while providing just the right amount of attention to our table.
This was another great experience at Teatro!

We had an early dinner here before a concert at the Jack Singer. Loved this restaurant! First class service with all members of the wait staff working the entire room. All needs were met before they were even anticipated. The food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. So much care and attention taken. For a special occasion or a memorable date night, Teatro is a wonderful choice!

Great restaurant for a lovely evening out. Our waitress was especially pleasant. We sat in a quiet corner near the entrance. It was cold. The risoto was nice. The lasagnia was delicious served on a hot pan. It had scallops, prawns, lobster and pasta. Mouth watering. Stayed hot till the end of the meal.

Teatro is beautiful! It is a lovely place to sit and dine. the service is great! The calamari was delicious and the wine list is large. However, for the price, the entrees were not as good as I expected. We had pasta's and the portions are decent and it was tasty but not anything I would want to try again or come back for. I would come back for drinks and the calamari and perhaps try some of their other mains. Overall it was a lovely experience!

Teatro is a really nice restaurant to visit. The menu has a great array of choices. The food was very good, not excellent but good. I did find a lack of flavour in the lasagne. The appetizers were great we thoroughly enjoyed the olive tray. The wine list is extensive and laid out fairly easy to read. Would have enjoyed a Petite Sirah though.
We did find it quite noisy, the tables are close together so it lacked the intimate evening we were looking and hoping for. The service was excellent, our waitress was very gracious and respectful. She gladly helped out with questions and suggestions.
We left happy and fairly satisfied. We would go again.

My wife and I rate Teatro as our favourite restaurant in Calgary and I took her here for her birthday. Unfortunately on this occasion, we found that both of our dishes were not up to the same quality as we have experienced in the past. I had the ribeye and the cut of beef seemed fairly poor and my wife had the rotisserie pork which was very plain. Hopefully next time will be better because the ambiance is fantastic and the food is usually very good.

Food was good, but nothing spectacular. They have an amazing selection of wine and the service is really good. As a meat lover I was disappointed with the cut of Ribeye Steak, expected a thicker cut of meat. Overall good experience.

Had their tasting menu (without alcohol) and it was AMAZING! You have to be willing to pay, but for us foodies, it was well worth it! Changes every day and its a surprise until each dish shows up at your table. Highly recommend it! Every single dish was phenomenal!

I took my wife to Teatro to celebrate our Anniversary. When we were seated we were asked if it was a special occasion and we informed the hostess. We had a waitress and a sommelier. I ordered the 6 course special with premium wine pairings. The waitress was excellent, she was friendly and accommodating. We received fresh wine glasses and fresh silverware with each course. The sommelier was much less friendly and extremely light in his pouring, which was fine for the first few courses that were smaller portions. We enjoyed oyster, soup, scallop with prosciutto and tuna all of which were incredible. Next up was a salmon ravioli, which neither of us enjoyed because the salmon was tough and overcooked. Our main course was chicken, which was tasty but I would have thought something more special would be coming our way like lamb, lobster, halibut or tenderloin. Furthermore the sommelier poured the tiniest 1.5 oz portion of Barolo for us to pair with a full plate of meat. Could he not give us a healthy glass for at least this course? Considering it was our anniversary they did nothing to make us feel special and if anything the evening felt rushed as the dishes came out at a tremendous pace. I have dined at nice restaurants in France, where your meal is your evening and that was not the case here. With a final tab of over $500, Teatro fell short of my expectations. I will not be returning and do not recommend.

We decided to attend this fine establishment, looking for a romantic dinner. Teatro has long been touted as one of Calgary's better places, so we were looking forward to it immensely. I'm a larger fellow, and the first thing I noticed was that the normal chairs in this place are quite uncomfortable - just a note if you're a taller person. The food was excellent, we had the Chef's Tasting, my wife had the wine pairing. The sommelier was very knowledgeable about the wine pairing, each with a story.
The only problem that we had was when we were served a dessert that contained nuts to which my wife is allergic. The restaurant initially tried to serve us only 1/2 of the dessert course as a result, but corrected this by providing an alternative dessert when I mentioned that we felt gypped out of part of our meal. The servers handled this request very well, with style and dignity, so all was good.
The food is enjoyable, and you should see what this kitchen can do with mere tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and some oil. Amazing. Some of the courses were very "safe" (the ling cod, for example - while delicious - could have come from one of many restaurants.) Overall, this restaurant is worth visiting at least once. For the price, however, I'll save my special occasions for another restaurant here in town.

From the minute you walk in the door to this beautiful restaurant, to the special touches like the stools brought over to our seats so we can put our purses on them, the added little birthday treat. The servers, their knowledge, the special Teatro cocktails, and above all the exquisite food.
Absolutely worth going to for a special and memorable dining experience.

The service was amazing!! The building was very nice and worth going at least once. The food was good, but not worth what you are paying for. I don't think I would go back now that I have experienced it, overall just didn't wow me.
