About Taco Jane's

21 Tamalpais Ave
San Anselmo, CA 94960

Color! If I close my eyes and think of the Yucatan, color is everywhere I “look”. Huge flowers in reds, pinks and yellows so saturated they almost vibrate against the landscape; bright peppers and tomato salsas; jungle greens; hot blue sky; vivid tropical fish swimming in a clear, turquoise sea. Color is the medium. Mathew Boussina, who grew up in Tiburon and traveled his way around Latin America, has chosen to translate the Yucatan experience to Taco Jane’s, his breezy little San Anselmo café, where an interior washed in sunshine yellow and an outdoor deck splashed with flowered oil cloth tables both pulsate to the beat of Musica Cubana.

Great top-shelf marg. Good guac, could use some salt and acid. Also enjoy the fish tacos. Enchiladas have no cheese inside? Very expensive place for what you get.

The Best south of the border in the Bay area.

Dined on May 4, 2014

The food and drinks here are superb! Do not miss the steak fajitas or the fish tacos, also the Sangria is really good. The waiter and service is some of the nicest and best we have had even compared to very expensive places. Everyone is so friendly without imposing, and the food is always fresh, never greasy or too salty, just healthy and delicious. It's our favorite Mexican Restaurant in the whole bay area. Gourmet food for those who love to eat quality and the prices are most reasonable. Every meal we have had here has been outstanding!

Back again and the red snapper fajitas were over the top in flavor and freshness. Our usual waiter was great as always, in fact the whole staff aims to please. My husbands chicken enchiladas were so good he ate every morsel. We will return very soon! Just Wonderful!

Quality Mexican Food

Dined on March 15, 2014

We went there for Lunch and were extremely pleased. Mexican/Central American Food was really good quality. The chicken was way finer than the usual fare at other similar cuisine places and way less salt and grease. We loved the chicken fajitas, and the chicken enchiladas. I think I had the best Sangria I ever tried, and the watermelon agua fresca was really good! Loved the way they caramelize the onions and peppers in the mix with the meat. Other server was excellent. The beans and rice could have been hotter, and it takes a while to get your food because every thing is freshly made, no complaints there, we love Fresh. Can't wait to go back and try the steak or beef tostada the lady at the next table ordered and was raving about it.

Neighborhood Gem in San Anselmo

Dined on February 16, 2014

Funky and fun, this little spot on a side street in quaint San Anselmo is just the ticket when you're in the mood for well-prepared Mexican fare. The room is light and airy with vibrant colors and ambience to spare. The wait staff is attentive and friendly and on top of their game...as is the kitchen. We loved it.

Very authentic restaurant

This small unassuming restaurant delivers fine Central American organic food with a very friendly staff. Definitely worth a try for any fans of south of the border food.
