SUSHISAMBA Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Sushi samba is my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas- I have been here many times but I will not be returning after my experience on Saturday night. To start off, my husband and I were about 15 minutes early to our reservation but the hostess made us wait till 15 minutes past our reservation where we were taken to the back room which only had one party in there. The back room was pretty much completely empty and we still had to wait till after our reservation time. Every time we come we do the tasting menu and always leave satisfied. This time, the food choices that came out were horrible. One of the courses was completely inedible- the rib eye skewers which were completely drained in a salty A1 type of sauce. Service was also unacceptable - our drinks took forever to come out (a beer and bottle of sake) and we were never checked on till we ate the last dish and were told that was our last dish. Unfortunately sushi samba, that was our last dish because we will never be returning. We spent 200 dollars for a dinner for two and are still talking about how disappointed we left. I don't know if the management has changed or the chef, but it's a shame.
We eat at a lot of upscale sushi restaurants, and the lively atmosphere and ambiance at Sushi Samba is hard to beat. The rolls were creative but had very limited options, and there weren't many we were excited about. The fish was fresh but way over priced for the quality and portion size.
WE WERE SO HAPPY TO EAT AT SUSHISAMBA AT THE PALAZZO (LOCATED IN THE GRAND CANAL SHOPS AS PART OF THE VENETIAN/PALAZZO MASSIVE HOTEL COMPLEX (MORE ON THE PALAZZO SIDE)). IT IS ALSO AN EASY WALK FROM THE WYNN/ENCORE AS WELL AS IT'S BASICALLY RIGHT PAST THE BRIDGE THAT CONNECTS THE TWO HOTEL COMPLEXES. ONTO THE FOOD: THE FOOD IS AMAZING, DELICIOUS AND VARIED. WE HAD WAGYU BEEF WHICH WE COOKED OURSELVES ON A HOT STONE RIGHT AT THE TABLE, YELLOW "TACOS", MISO SOUP, AND A MISO BLACK BASS-- ALL OF WHICH WAS INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS, NOT TO MENTION TWO DESSERTS WHICH WERE PURE BLISS. WE CANNOT RECOMMEND THE FOOD ENOUGH !!!!! THE ROOM IS NOT A QUIET ROMANTIC ONE, IT'S A LIVELY FUN ENERGETIC PLACE AND YOU FEEL VERY CHIC EATING THERE-- A FUN ROOM ! THE DRINK AND FOOD MENU ARE BOTH VERY VARIED AND THEY HAVE A GREAT SAKE COLLECTION AS WELL. IF YOU LOVE ASIAN FOOD, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO !
Very innovative restaurant. We asked our waiter to bring us a number of samples of his best recommendations that would total roughly $85 a person. Over the next 2 hours we experienced eight different courses. Each one being very unique and outstanding. A very memorable evening for a foodie. Our waiter Frankie absolutely nailed it.
Food was delicious and reasonably priced. I would recommend the sea bass skewers they melted in your mouth when you ate it. The rock shrimp was one of my favorite dishes as well. I also had the green bean tempura it was good with the truffle oil dipping sauce. The scene of the restaurant was dark and pretty.
Restaurant is not in restaurant row at the Venetian but in the shopping area that is attached so it took us some time to find. But the atmosphere is really great and the menu has a large selection of Japanese and other cuisine that go together well. We ordered a bunch of small places and tasted lots of different things. The sushi was good.
This is my second visit to SushiSamba and enjoyed it very much, in comparison of my first. Great service from the front desk to the final dessert, and food was very tasty. The difference to keep in mind, is this is Vegas, and not a fair comparison to your favorite sushi place at home, so come with that mindset and you will experience a wonderful meal. Open Table reservation at 6:30 set the right pace with our table being fully prepared for our arrival, no wait at all. Carmine, our server was excellent, with being there as we arrived, and all throughout the meal. He gave a overall intro to the restaurant, and make suggestions on drinks and food. We chose to put ourselves in his hands, with a menu of his recommendations, based on a set fee for $60 USD / person. This turned out to a great choice, giving us a taste of everything SushiSamba had to offer. Round 1: Fried Calamari and Wagyu Beef Gyoza (Fantastic!), Round 2: Shrimp Tempura Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll (spiced to our level of heat) and Salmon Sashimi. Round 3: Wagyu Beef, Chilean Sea Bass (requested) and Chilean Corn. Dessert was extra, and was just “filler” for us to complete a very nice dinner. One note would be on the noise level, as the restaurant filled, the overall noise level grew noticeable and normal conversation will become more of a challenge. The entire meal was excellent and a wonderful experience – compliments to the entire staff, and special thanks to Carmine!
Great service and fantastic sushi. Noise level is on the high side, can be difficult to hear your guest sitting across the same table. Tables are very cramped together too but it does allow you to spark up conversations with others next to you. Great wait staff though!
Food was good, nice casual ambience but the server really rushed us, dishes taken away the moment we picked up the item to eat and asked us did we want dessert while we were still eating our first dishes. I would not go back to this location again for that reason - we would have ordered dessert when we were ready but decided to leave and order dessert elsewhere as it was really very strange and uncomfortable.
