Food was good, but wasn’t really special. The view was incredible. Server was fantastic.
Make sure to get a table next to the rail which allows an unobstructed view of the mountains. The sun was setting as we ate and the lights of Asheville came into view. The view and atmosphere was outstanding and the food was delicious. This would be a meal for a special occasion due to the price but worth it. We took our time and did not feel rushed. The portions were good size and the dessert was big enough to share.
I ordered the crab cake sandwich. It was served on a bun with bay leaves?
Bay leaves on a sandwich. Not very tasty! And of course I had to take the sandwich apart to remove the two large bay leaves. Not a classy experience while eating not to mention the taste.
Then fries were so salty and over cooked that for the rest of the date I could not drink enough water to compensate.
My wife ordered the Portobello mushroom sandwich. Her response was the mushrooms were tasteless. The saving grace on her sandwich was the good cheese.
Thank God for the biscuits that were servered at least they were terrific.
Thus my 2 star food rating.
The service by our waiter Derrick was terrific.
Just wish the food was as good.
Delays in service were annoying. Took 10 minutes for someone to actually acknowledge us. Then awhile longer to get water. Then our order was not submitted because of an error. Fortunately the food and ambiance were enough to overcome most service issues. The manager should have brought us water if he knew the wait staff was spread thin. The restaurant was not busy so not sure why they had these problems.
Our waiter was outstanding!!! We do not eat any grains or sugars and he did his very best to lead us into the right direction and ask the cooks what we could substitute.. He was attentive and very nice!
The food was great but I would not recommend the baked Alaska. It tasted like charcoal and was not edible for anyone in my party.
Great service. The food was amazing.
My friend and I were visiting Ashville and were given some gems of to do's. The Omni was one of them for the fantastic views and sunsets (unfortunately we did not have a spectacular sunset that evening ). The food was a bit pricey, but well worth it. We had the aged beef for two, Fresh Asparagus, and lobster mac and cheese (would not recommend that), preceded by a wonderful crab cake. For dessert, we had a very unique version of creme brûlée that was the best I have ever had! The service was terrific, and the servers really watch for your every need. They noticed I was playing with my second cocktail and came to ask if everything was okay. I explained the situation, and the situation was remedied.
We had a wonderful all fresco dinner on a beautiful evening last week. Lex was our server and she did a great job, making solid suggestions and making us feel very special. Will definitely return - a beautiful restaurant!
Vacation, a must for sure!
Service was excellent. Food was average. We expected better food for the price.
We absolutely love having lunch here! One of our favorite spots! Worth the drive every time!
First dinner experience at the Omni Grove and it couldn’t have been better. We made 8pm reservations, so there was still some daylight to experience one of the best views in NC. It was also a time of day where there was a large crowd (and it was Sunday evening). It was a bit pricey, however it was a date night, so we were prepared to splurge a bit. All in all, Two thumbs up experience and will definitely go again.
2 hours for dinner. Had to send food back due to it being cold. Waitress was very sweet and comped a desert but food took a long time for a really expensive dinner. We will not eat there again due to other great experiences at other restaurants at the resort.
We stayed 1 night at the Omni grove Hotel and i decided to book a table for that night, we checked the restaurant after we checked in and i was so excited to try the restaurant.
1- The view is incredible, we can see the mountain we booked our table for 6.30 so we can see the sunset.
2- Great surprise they have kids menu, i was worried about that and already checked what i could order for my 2 kids (8 and 6 Y)
3- We ordered :
*** NY Strip
*** Pork chop
*** Asparagus and potatoes gratin
*** 1 kid meal with chicken fingers and brocolini ( instead of fries)
*** Simple salad
My only complain would be the wait to have our food (1hour ) , i did not mind waiting but my kids were starving !!! I really enjoy the view.
Overall we everything was delicious, my kids love our meal more than theirs !
It is a little pricey but totally worth it.
Okay food with a great view. Somewhat awkward service and a weird tourist vibe (that is to be expected).
Had 4 adults and 8 year old and we were seated by kitchen where the heater did not cover. We were given blankets and that kind of took away from the fine dining experience. Food was great but service to get food really slow. Our server was nice and the view fantastic.
We had the bison filet mignon and the lobster mac and cheese Both were outstanding!
Amazing experience! Amazing service and food was delicious! Had a reservation at 530 and perfect timing to enjoy the view and later the sunset! Definitively coming again!
Sunset Terrace is an exceptional place to have a meal. The view is outstanding and the food is very good. The wait staff is excellent. They are very cautious to make sure health issues - such as my wife's gluten issue - is taken care of. I highly recommend this restaurant for your next meal.
Cool evening but radiant heaters kept the hard bite off the cool weather. Cloudy evening but view was still spectacular. Food was amazing. Didn’t have the best pairing with Mac and cheese lobster and bison but both were good
The Sunset Terrace is a premier Asheville landmark dining option, but on my latest trip the wait staff was somewhat offputtingly rude, and brief. Though he was not busy.
In addition, the saddle of lamb was left poorly trimmed so that the knife provided had to be impolitely and roughly used to saw through the meat and gristle. The filet minon was well prepared though to an uneven temperature.
Waiter did not know the single malt scotch selections. All in all the ambience was wonderful and I would go again, but I was disappointed in the food and service.
Well worth it. Incedible service, outstanding food, and tremendouse view. We had lunch there for our anniversary and wanted to come back that evening for an after dinner cocktail and enjoy the night view. Highly reccommended...
Excellent steak and lobster Mac and cheese
View is gorgeous! The weather was cooler, but it was very pleasant! They have some heat on the covered portion of the restaurant. I had a crab cake sandwich that was outstanding! Food is slightly high priced, but to be expected for a venue like this. Would definitely go back again!
We sat out on the patio overlooking the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Food, service and atmosphere were all spectacular!
Amazing view, great (but limited menu) food, superior and professional service, picture perfect, sunny & mild fall day, effective radiant heaters . . . . what's not to like about the Sunset Terrace.
The terrace has a gorgeous view with a delicious meal. Everything tasted fabulous, our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and helpful with recommendations. We made reservations to celebrate 2 anniversaries and truly enjoyed it.
Always enjoy a trip to Asheville when it includes a meal at Sunset Terrace! Food, service, ambience...it has everything!
Had two fantastic salads for lunch. Also the hot chocolate with Baileys is a must for cold days looking out over the mountain range.
The views are stunning and one of the best steaks I've ever had. It's pricey but in line with as expected for this type of dining experience.
Service on this property is always great. The Sunset Terrace view is amazing!
I️ went with 2 friends on a girls’ trip to Asheville, and we came here one evening for appetizers and drinks and to watch the sunset. It was amazing!! The food and drink was outstanding, our server even offered to take pictures for us, and the sunset was fabulous! It was perfect!
The views cannot be beat! Our server was delightful and helpful since it was our first visit.
Fantastic food, service and location. Will definitely go back often.
We had lobster Cobb salad which & the lobster roll was equally dry tasteless.
The service was excellant. The bill for 4 @ lunch was 160.00. 2 COBB SALADS 1 LOBSTER ROLL
1 SALMON 2 BOTTLES OF WATER LINES 1 RASPBERRY SORBET 1 COFFEE. IT IS SAD THAT THIS
TOURIST TRAP IS EXACTLY THAT. VENUE SUNSET TERRACE. The saving grace was the view &
Our family lunch at the Sunset Terrace was to celebrate my sister-in-law's special birthday. The staff did everything they could to make this day outstanding. The food was terrific and sitting on the terrace, even though it was chilly, was wonderful. The wait staff even brought us blankets to stay warm. Highly recommend this venue for visitors to the Asheville and locals, like me!
My husband and I celebrated our 18 year anniversary at Sunset Tavern. View was beautiful, wonderful weather for dining outside! Extensive wine list. Had the seafood tower for two and split a caesar. We were too full for desert. Could have done without the lobster on the tower. It was flavorless! Had the desert wine flight which was enjoyable if you like sweet wine! I would go back and try something else.
