The food was good to be buffet style. Our waiter forgot about us and didn't bring our drinks until we asked 3 times for them.
We dined here for Brunch on Fathers Day. We are locals, and this is one of our very favorite spots in Charleston for their brunch buffet, which they serve regularly.
Their food is well-prepared, delicious, and of high quality. Their brunch buffet is nicely presented, with two areas - one in the front part of the restaurant that includes cold items including a nice variety of finger foods, such as breads, crackers, lox with capers, dips, olives, salads and desserts, and the other area in the rear of the restaurant, the hot entree area. Hot entrees include some nice dishes such as eggs benedict, yummy flavorful bacon, and french toast. Make sure to try the lemon curd sauce if you like lemon. As part of the buffet, one can also order delicious pancakes or omelets to order. The atmosphere is also very nice - comfortable yet upscale. We saw everyone from young couples, families with children, and a few elderly people with mobility issues who had no problem with seating. The re is also a rooftop bar, but for brunch we eat downstairs. Highly recommend.
Raymond our server was amazing!
Our experience was okay only. There were flies and gnats around us while we were trying to eat. Food was nothing special.
Great rooftop, good cocktail selection. Wine on tap. Food was good. Some options a little pricey. Scallops were cooked perfectly! Risotto was not - it was not very creamy and a bit too al dente.
Perfect food and service
We celebrated my wife’s birthday after a really tough week and the service was absolutely amazing on both the rooftop and the dinning area. Chris, without a doubt, is one of the best servers we have ever had the pleasure of being served by and no experience is complete at Stars unless he visits our table. Thanks to Stars for such an amazing evening.
We had a great dinner and our service was wonderful!
Great food! Great location. I'd recommend going here for brunch. Great drink specials as well.
The food was good and it was great that they could accommodate 11 girls for dinner. The rooftop is packed on weekend evenings and they had a fun DJ on the first floor after hours. I'd recommend for a bachelorette or birthday party for dinner and drinks!
Stars is a classy restaurant with excellent food, decor and service. It's a gem of the Charleston restaurant scene. The wait staff are knowledgeable and chatty; the overall impression is sophistication.
Loved the rooftop bar as well as dinner downstairs in the dining room. Amazing food!!
The restaurant was mostly empty however it took extremely too long to get our food. We made a reservation early to get to a spoleto event. We barely made it.
Our food was very bland. No flavor.
This was an amazing end to a girls weekend. The food was incredible and at a budget friendly price!
The brunch was first class! The food was amazing! The chef made us a custom shrimp and grits without the ham and sausage. It was perfect! Can't wait to return to Charleston for another brunch.
Too loud & busy for a special occasion. Waiter brought wrong salad & waited extraordinarily long for entree. Seems popular, just not for us.
Bad experience overall. Food was good and the waiter did the best he could but the kitchen was beyond slow. Took over an hour to get a salad appetizer. Rooftop bar was also very disappointing, no view at all basically just an open air space.
Noisy, unfriendly atmosphere
The ribeye was fantastic, the filet was excellent and the seafood pastas were great, too. Good drink selections, too, with wine by bottle and on tap.
Service was great, food was amazing but it took a long time to get our food (we did have 6ppl) but 4 were salads
Our waiter was great. Also glad we reserved a table
We had the crab cakes, kale salad, and shared the lobster fettuccini. Food came out too quick and was just barely warm. Pasta was very bland. Our waitress Sullivan was very nice and had a good personality. Happy hour upstairs was pretty cool I would recommend that at least. Its a younger crowd with good music and drinks. For food there are MUCH better options just about anywhere you look downtown.
Excellent service. Excellent food.
Our server was warm and friendly. Our server gave us champagne on the house when he found out it was our anniversary.
The Rib eye was cooked perfectly.
Visited the roof top for ore dinner drinks. The bar tenders were friendly as well.
It was our first time at this restaurant, but it exceeded our expectations. The food was very good, but small portions and kind of pricey. Our server was terrific, friendly and efficient.
This is a busy vibrant restaurant with great food and great service. I had the lobster fettuccini with black truffle oil an incredibly rich dish that should have been hotter, but was really delicious. The roof top bar is very nice although the greenery around it (which is lovely) pretty much blocks any view of the city. All-n-all a fun place to go for an evening out!
We found the restaurant VERY noisy and actually had to ask the hostess to turn down the music as we had a hard time carrying on a conversation. There was also a large crowd at the bar and perhaps they were contributing to the noise level. We do however, enjoy the rooftop bar!
The oysters Bingo we're terrific as was everything really! The shellfish and grits absolutely fantastic!
Very delicious and our server was awesome and very outgoing!!
Best kept secret in Charleston. This restaurant outranks High Cotton and Hall's. The food is unforgettable. It is consistently excellent.
we were in Charleston for a wedding and this was a group of 16. The server was terrific. All the food was great and everyone was happy. For a group this size, we got to choose from the regular menu, didn't have to pay for a private room and they were extremely accommodating.
Went here for Mother's Day dinner and enjoyed ourselves once again. Good meat and seafood options. Nice cocktails, a nice wine list and very good service made it a memorable evening.
We came here for the weekend brunch over Mother’s Day Weekend. Phenomenal.
Their brunch is amazing, you can get special pancakes & omelets made and it’s included in the buffet. We were a party of 9 and service was amazing
We went for Mothers Day Brunch,5-13-18. We had a FANTASTZIC experience! Great Food, Brunch Buffet, and Excellent Service! I have told several friends, and am looking for the next time we get to visit STARS!
We stopped in at Stars and had a few drinks at the bar before the rest of our party showed up for the reservation. They were running late and the hostess said no problem. The bartender we had knows how to mix a drink. I had gin and tonics and my wife had a couple Kentucky Mules. Very good service, we did not wait to be served and refills were prompt. When we were seated it was towards the back. Our waitress was named Sullivan and what a fun waitress she was. Personality and service were the best. We ordered the bacon tots as an appetizer and then I had the steak and risotto and my family ordered a burger, lobster fettuccine and shellfish and grits. It all tasted great. Presentation was kind of plain but the food was very tasty. Noise level is high but you can hear your own conversations. It was a good meal in a lively place. We will go back again.
We went here the night UCharleston graduated so it was quite busy. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for the area. The waiter was very attentive and the service was great. The rooftop deck looked like fun but it was very crowded so we didn’t stay. We wished we had tried this restaurant earlier in our trip.
Fun place to eat and everyone was nice, but the food just wasn’t on par.
We had a delightful experience once we got over the shock of it being buffet only and the need to make plates in a frantic rush as our reservations were at 1:45. Please make that known to future guests that it is buffet only and that late lunch reservations shouldn’t be made past 1:30. I reserved through Open Table; maybe that info could be included there. Our server was magnificent and he helped us relax and enjoy our celebration.
It was absolutely delicious! Can't wait to return!
