Sorellina Ratings and Reviews

My husband and I dined here for our anniversary. We were seated at a makeshift booth, corner table, which was uncomfortable and awkward. My husband was cornered in the booth so when he had to use the restroom we either had to move the table or scoot around the booth. Not what I was expecting at a 5 star restaurant. Especially when there were several open window tables available. Once we were seated, we waited about 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken. All in all it was an average experience. I feel as if we were treated differently because we are a young couple. Maybe if I had CEO written across my forehead things would have been different.

Had not been to Sorellina in a very long time because last time we were there was an unpleasant experience but we decided to try again. We had a very good experience. Food was delicious and service was generally good. The only criticism that we have is that water glasses were not filled unless we asked for it and the bus boy did not wait till both of us were done eating to remove dirty plates. Pricey but good for a special occasion.

Sublime! Sorellina never disappoints! Excellent service, wonderful (romantic) atmosphere, and food that is as beautifully presented as it is delicious. Don't miss the lobster gnocchi - one of our favorite all-time dishes! Other homemade pastas are another must. Fresh ingredients and fabulous flavor combinations go into every dish. You must eat here!

Rapid valet parking, seated immediately in previously requested quietest area available (6:00 PM). Comfortably paced drinks, dinner, wine, dessert. Noise level did not go
up noticeably by 7:30 PM. Food excellent throughout. This was about my 10th evening at Sorellina and we will go back again.

Our waiter Kirk was a total snob to us. We were directed to the restaurant from the concierge at the Fairmont Copley Hotel where we were staying. All of us felt like we were being rushed to leave. When one at our table did not care for the wine selection, it was obvious that he was annoyed and didn't even offer to bring the wine menu so she could chose another. Rather, he made the decision. All three of us had homes in Florida in the hurricane path and were all in need of some respite from the worry. We all left feeling very disappointed that our last night had to be spoiled by a waiter who clearly thinks it's ok to choose which customers in which to look down his nose. For what it's worth, two of the three of us were Doctors.

They just do a flawless job at Sorellina, and yet they make it seem effortless. Relax and enjoy beautifully prepared food that doesn't try too hard, and attentive and friendly service. Our 3rd time and it's never missed a step.

We celebrated our anniversary at Sorellina. The food was fabulous and the service superb. It was also so nice to be in a restaurant where the noise level was low enough that we didn't have to strain to hear each other.

We went to Sorellina for a romantic birthday dinner, and it was absolutely wonderful. Great service, delectable food, romantic atmosphere with quiet atmosphere, dimmed lights, generous space between tables that gave privacy to conversations, and classy, modern design. We had octopus, filet mignon, halibut, & ice cream for dessert and it was all prepared perfectly. I loved, loved, LOVED the octopus appetizer with thinly sliced grilled octopus and squid ink cous-cous! Their wine selection is outstanding as well! Our waitress was knowledgable and charming and all other personnel helped to enhance the experience of truly refined dining.

Best Italian I've had in a long time, everything from appetizers to after dinner coffee, excellent! Veal and Meatball dishes best ever and wine selection was also outstanding. Service was very attentive but not annoying. I had left my credit card behind and they sent a driver to my hotel to bring it to me, unbelievable!

We met friends for dinner whom we hadn't seen for a few months. The waiter, realizing this gave us plenty of time to catch up.
The unhurried meal was delicious, Wyguu beef meat ball, veal chop, and a steak, preceded by salad and oysters. You can't get much better; everyone was happy. The Barolo wine selection suggested by the waiter was outstanding.
A very nice evening and we look forward to returning.

We usually dine at one of their sister restaurants but decided to give Sorellina a try. We where seated promptly at an end table that we soon found out could barely contain the plates of food that would come out. I understand fully that that are trying to maximize the square footage but jeesh.
We ordered the grilled octopus , nice tender pieces on top of what appeared and tasted like black lentils and it had some nice thin sliced banana peppers mixed in.
We also ordered the truffled burrata , this was a fresh burrata ball surrounded with a puree of truffles and some mushrooms, this app was excellent to say the least.
My wife ordered the halibut as a main course , not to impressed , not a lot going on and we both felt it was under seasoned.
I ordered the veal saltimbocca , this dish consisted of 3 pieces of veal loin wrapped in prosciutto on top of truffled mashed and a very nice demi glace. a lot of flavor in the dish but again felt the veal needed more seasoning.
as far as the service went it was ok, waiter was pleasant enough..
The menu did have a lot of pasta dishes which sounded great , we will probably give Sorellina another shot in the future.

Loved this restaurant as two of us had the gnocchi with lobster for a main course which we always try when dining together and this was one of the best examples of gnocchi we have ever had the good fortune to experience. Perfect texture with the most delicious lobster sauce with a generous amount of lobster chunks -rich and buttery. Still thinking about it -that good! The veal Milanese was also very good as was the very large portion of mushroom fettuccine. The waiter was excellent and the atmosphere lovely. I highly recommend this very polished restaurant run by an obviously very professional group which also owns Ostra -another great restaurant.

Food was very good. Lighting was poor. Hard to read the menus, but they had mini flashlights to give out (Shows that I am not the only one). Portions are reasonable sized. Too many restaurants give too much food. Ran out of a special too early. Would go again for a special occasion. Noise level less than most good restaurants. Conversation was possible.

This was our first trip to Boston. I had done my homework to find an outstanding restaurant within walking distance of our hotel (The Lenox). Decided on Sorellina. And, we were very happy with our choice. The restaurant is beautiful. The menu is great. The service is professional but not "stuffy." And, the food and its presentation was wonderful. The wine list is extensive (but, frankly, most of the offerings were out of our comfort zone price-wise). We really enjoyed the evening and would surely go there again next time we're in Boston!

Sorellina hit several home runs for our party of four. The veal raviolis were the best anyone in the group had experienced anywhere in the world. The chef's version of veal saltimbacca was unusual and delicious as was the meatball entry. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the tariff was not overwhelming. Overall, a very good restaurant.
