Most seating is good but we had table back by stairs. It great experience and new server that was slow.
Experience was wonderful as usual. Il Sogno never disappoints.
We chose this restaurant based on reviews and are glad we did. Lively atmosphere, great service, very good meals - a great evening overall!
Tasty italian cuisine and prompt service. It was packed; the noise level on a Friday evening was very, very high. Hard for our party of four to hear each other, and we were even in a corner.
It was very hot in the restaurant
The food was outstanding. We enjoyed our dinner but we did feel rushed. As we were eating out salads the server tried to serve out dinner entrees but was directed away by our waiter. My husband’s dinner plate was removed as soon as he was finished while I had more to eat. Just a little too eager to move things along through the whole dinner.
This family owned restaurant is an absolute gem. Our service was absolutely spot on. Tiffany made sure we had a very special evening celebrating a belated Valentine's Day. She was very personable, attentive, made fabulous suggestions, and checked in just enough to make sure everything was going well. The food was amazing. Don't miss out on the bruschetta. You will want to eat the whole thing, but that won't leave room for your delicious entree. My husband had a pasta dish (their pasta is made fresh daily) and I had the chicken marsala. The dessert menu looks good but we were too full to indulge. We will definitely be returning.
My husband and I went to Il Sogno last Saturday for our Valentine's dinner. We have been to the restaurant 3 previous times. The decor of the restaurant is very warm and welcoming.
We started off with the seasonal Pumpkin Ravioli's (there is a longer Italian name, but that is whay we call them). They were delicious, we found out later we could have had them as an entree that may happen next time.
I had a Beet salad, it was done way to soon.
For the main meal we had a mushroom marsela dish and Ossobuco with garlic mashed potatoes, also amazinig.
The evening was wonderful and we will be returning soon.
Our waiter was not attentive enough, couldn’t recommend any particular entree when asked for a recommendation. another waiter was happy to help. Food was good, nice size servings. The Ferraro Rochere gelato was disappointing. Staff was friendly. Ambiance was nice, would like to come back and see the rooftop in the summer.
It was our first time at this restaurant and it definitely will not be our last. The atmosphere was vibrant yet quiet enough to have a nice conversation with others. My wife and I were very impressed with the quality of our meals and especially with the service. The table staff was most informative of the menu items and very attentive to our needs. Our meals were delicious and were prepared promptly. All in all, it was a very enjoyable and memorable evening for the two of us, one that we will definitely remember.
Bring Valentine's day off course busy. Our server was amazing and accommodating on insuring food was right. Handicap stall could have a Changing table in it, certainly large enough wouldn't hurt even for the occasional infant even though not a typical"family" restaurant.
Everything fell short of expectations for a 4.5 star restaurant. Server did not review specials (but was otherwise fine), they ran out of the appetizer special before 7pm, "bruschetta" was really a focaccia flat bread with cheese/garlic, 6 little neck clams (very very little) were gummy and overdone, main courses (short-rib I.e., pork shank and filet) were honest to goodness inedible. For Valentine's day the place was absolutely packed and far too noisey. I don't hold that against them, but the experience was loud and rushed in my opinion. For what we got, was overpriced. Did not try desert. On a positive note, the bartender was killing it.
Great food. Great service. Always a pleasurable experience!
A favorite place to celebrate special occasions. Romantic atmosphere, excellent friendly service, great food and wines.
Sogno is always great! My favorite Wheaton restaurant.
We visited Sogno twice in two nights, first as a date night for ourselves and the next evening for a “going away” get-together of family before one son moves out of state to take a new job. Both nights we had excellent service, excellent food, and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. A wonderful experience and we’ll definitely be back.
Love this place! Great food and service! This was our 2nd time and we will be frequent visitors in the future. The caprese is wonderful! The gnocchi and the pumpkin ravioli are awesome!
We ate at Il Sogno for the first time Saturday night with the kids. The food was very good ( I had a risotto and fish special). The dessert was excellent. The prices were a bit high but I would come back here for a special occasion but not an everyday dinner.
Great food!! Such a nice place! Our server Jessie was awesome! Highly recommend this place!!
As always, food was great! Really enjoy dining here.
Wonderful service & great food!!
We had an early dinner reservation. The restaurant was not busy, but they sat tables next to one another. By the time we left there were 4 other tables full surrounding us and it felt very claustrophobic. It quickly became loud and we heard every bit of conversation from the neighboring tables. We had one server, but 5 different servers and bussers, checked on us and literally hovered over us for about half of the night. Our main server also gave us attitude because the spaghetti was made with cheese and my wife has a cheese allergy. Food was good, not great, but service differently left us not wanting to go again. Overall it was a decent restaurant.
Il Sogno has become very consistently good. plus the menu is reasonably priced.
Great place to come for any occasion or just a friendly meal!
Spectacular food & service!
Excellent dinner. Great service great food. Very happy and will continue to return
Local eatery, consistent quality and perfect wait staff. Overlooking downtown Wheaton, lighted trees, strolling Wheatonites. Always pleasant and satisfying.
Excellent service, great food.
One of my favorite places
With only a “fixed menu” for the New Years Eve Holiday, they ran out of both some entrees & deserts by 8:30 PM yet the server did not freely offer alternates off the menu. Nor did the management comment. And the food came cold. Not going back, ever.
We did not have a place to celebrate NYE this year and with a newborn baby, our plans were spur of the moment. We noticed that Il Sogno had availability and a pre-fix menu for the evening. Everything was great. Complimentary valet for the car, a sling for the baby car seat, staff was extremely attentive. Noticed that there were a number of families there with small children, yet atmosphere was still enjoyable. Menu choices for a pre-fix event were still enticing and the cuisine was delectable. We now want to return to enjoy their regular menu when we have a chance.
Open Table made it so easy to do the reservation. When we arrived our name was on their Ipad. The food was great and the ambiance lovely. We had an attentive server which makes for a great dining experience
Overall a very satisfying experience. My daughter asked if the kitchen could prepare a meal not on the menu, and they happily obliged. The food was delicious and the servings were generous and more than adequate. Our reservations were for an early hour and the dining room was nearly full by the time we had finished our meal. At that point, it started to feel a bit crowded. This was a first time for us and we will be back. However, be aware that this is by no means a moderately priced restaurant.
Il Sogno is the best restaurant in Wheaton. The pumpkin ravioli appetizer is to die for.
Nice atmosphere. Service was good considering the holidays.
My husband and I came on Christmas Eve. The check in desk is oddly placed at the top of the steps. Waiters are rushing by with hot plates from the kitchen and you feel as if any moment your going to fall backwards down the steps. Wouldn't be surprised if that hasn't happened already. We were sat by a large family party od what looked to be 30 people which was placed in the center of the dining room. It felt as if we where intruding on their private event as their family kicked and bumped and repeatedly crashed into our table. The water was less than enthusiastic no matter how hard we tried to be nice to him. I can imagine it's not fun working on Christmas eve, but come on. The food was ok...not outstanding.
Sogno was packed Christmas Eve and the noise level was high, but the food and service was still outstanding. Still one of my favorite fine dining spots.
Food was fresh and delicious. Service was wonderful.
The food was pretty good as well as the drinks & ambience of the place. My girlfriend is a vegetarian so we had the gnocchi, beet salad, bruschetta on focaccia bread (my favorite item of the night), spinach, potatoes, and asparagus. All very good items! We drank the Pomegranate drink they had on their specialty drink menu & it was sweet & delightful! It got my girlfriend drunk! For dessert we had the Ferrero Rocher Cape which was basically Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato in a Champagne Glass - very yummy & a nice way to end the meal!
The only problem I had was our server would disappear for long periods of time when the place was nearly empty. When I wanted to close out my tab I found him sitting at another table with what I assume was a friend because he sat there for more than 15 minutes talking with him before he came back to our table. We only knew it took that long because we looked at the time he printed out the receipt (which was the last time he stopped by) and then checked the time he came back more than 15 minutes later. My girlfriend wanted me to leave him no more than a 10% tip, but since it was the Holidays & the bus boy provided better service than our server, I decided to give him 15% when I normally leave anywhere from 20-25% at most places & even a lot more than that during the holidays. It would have a been a very good if not an excellent experience if it wasn’t for our server disappearing for very long periods of time.
Other than the service it was a great experience.
My dish was very good and my niece liked hers as well. The ambiance was very nice. The service was a little slow, but not terrible.
Sogno did not disappoint as usual. The food is delicious and the drinks are very good. The staff is attentive and courteous. Rosie is wonderful.
As usual, the food was very good, and the service was good as well. I had the Risotto special, which was quite good, but at $36, seemed a bit pricey for the amount and the fact that it was not steak, but a small piece of red snapper. The snapper on the regular menu was $7 less, so hard to believe the special was that much more, whether pricing effort to make or ingredients. Otherwise, good food and we will return.
