We were excited to bring our kids back to the restuarant that holds a special place in our hearts. 12 yrs my best friend proposed and I said yes! We were excited to bring our kids to our favorite restaurant and share our memories with them. The food and service was just as we remembered....remarkable! And watching the sunset while we dined was breathtaking, my babies enjoyed their first visit. We're excited to be back in Alaska to make more memories. Thanks to Simon and Seafort for the enjoyable family night out.

I booked this reservation to celebrate my sisters birthday. She has celiac disease and must eat gluten free. In past visits we were presented a dedicated gluten free menu rather than the main menu and the dedicated menu had a lot of options. This time we were told they dont do that anymore and there were 4 entree choices and only 2 salad dressings that were gluten free. Instead of feeling pampered, my sister had to order a hamburger for her special birthday dinner. Unacceptable! Food allergies and dietary restrictions are more and more common. Simons should start expanding their menu to keep up with these customers and keep their business. My meal was good but wish my sisters bday could have been as special as I wanted it to be for her!

Normally very comfortable dining at Simons because I know the meal will be exceptional. I invited my Grandson as he had not been to Simons before. Don't know what happened to the clam chowder but it appeared to be curteled and wasn't good. The waitress offered to take my lunch off the bill but I noticed when I got home that she didn't do that.

Typically a dinner out at Simon & Seafort's is a pleasant (if expensive) experience. This time it was a disappointing (and expensive) experience. Our party of 2 was seated in a high traffic zone next to the entry to the kitchen area. The constant traffic flow of the restaurant staff going to and from the kitchen was distracting. The restaurant was fairly busy, and the noise level from patrons as well as the from the kitchen was truly intolerable. We practically had to shout at each other across the table in order to be heard! The food was "okay" but not superior. The one positive note was the great service provided by our waiter. Overall a truly sub-par dining experience and not at all worth the price I paid.

Food was good and the view was amazing, as usual. When I made my reservation, I indicated that we were celebrating a birthday. Usually there is some sort of ribbon curls or confetti on the table, but this time there wasn't. Our server, Karsson, was outstanding.

Welcoming hostess, everyone seemed interested in our having a good experience, and the food and service was excellent. One of our favorite places to eat. It is a bit too loud at times to have a normal conversation across the table.

I had guests from Fairbanks and they requested we go to Simon's for dinner.
One of the guest's stuffed halibut dinner was cold. My Scallops were just lukewarm. The waitress replaced the halibut dinner very graciously. It was busy and evidently she had not picked our dinners up when they were finished so they sat and got cold. I did not ask for the Scallops to be replaced because they were fast fried or grilled on too hot of a flame and were a little chard, not to my liking. The Kincaid Grill knows how to make scallops perfectly.
Service was fast and we were happy with it. The appetizers were wonderful as was the spinach salad. A good choice if you don't want an entree.
We all liked the table by the window, which we asked for after we arrived and waited about 20 minutes for.

We visited this restaurant for our last night of a vacation in Alaska, which also happened to be my husband's birthday. He really wanted local salmon, and it was superb. I had the scallops with the crab risotto and a side of their great brussels sprouts. He had the key lime pie for dessert. Even the bread was great. We started with the spinach salad, which was perfect - just the right amount of dressing!
It was moderately expensive - not as expensive as many places we go in California, but pricey for the area. But the food and service made it well worth it!

My parents came to Alaska for a visit and it happened to be over their 45th wedding anniversary, so we decided to take them to Simon and see fortes. I called ahead of time to request something special for their anniversary, and the woman that answered my call said that they do something special, such as rose petals on the table, etc. I thought we could order champagne and do something special for dessert. When we got there there was nothing on the table and nothing special at all. We told our server and he just said, "oh, well then you get your choice of crème brûlée or Keylime pie after your meal!" And that was it. Pretty disappointed, especially for the price we paid for our meal. I would have chosen a different restaurant. Sullivans is a really nice steakhouse, better experience for a special event.

We have been to Simon and Seafort's many times and have had good food and service but this time the food was absolutely horrible. We both ordered Chicken Dijon and our chicken was old, grey and so rubbery one could not cut it with a knife. We sent our food back and ordered the sampler which is always good bit the shrimp was under cooked to the point that we did not eat it. As soon as this happened, our server just kind of wrote us off and no longer felt the need to give us good service anymore. When we paid the bill and gave him our rewards card he realized that we are regular customers and then tried to save face. We will not be going back for a very long time. They seem to have a couple of cooks who do not know how to prepare food in their kitchen which really scares me. Furthermore, I sent Simon's an email directly about our experience and have not heard anything from them or their headquarters. I guess they do not care about their regular customers. We will be taking our business to other establishments from now on.

This is our favorite Anchorage restaurant; we select this for special occasions and special guests. The food is always exceptional, the service excellent, and the kitchen (visible when you enter the dining area) spotless. They have a frequent diner club that makes it feel even better.

The view is spectacular but the restaurant is loud making it hard to carry on a conversation. Pricing for drinks and appetizers was reasonable but entrees seemed too expensive for what you get. It was nice to go, say I've gone, but probably won't go back again. There are other higher value fine dining restaurant options.

Generally a great option, today the food was less than par. Way too much cinnamon on the kid's french toast made it inedible and the Crab bennies (first time I have tried them here) were dry and hollandaise was more like an extra thick Dijon sauce than a hollandaise with Dijon. The French onion soup is always a winner!!
The service was spectacular though.

Simon's is always reliably good, maybe not always the best, but in ANC, the best is often hard to find. I've been doing dinner in ANC for over forty years and the choices were always The Crow's Nest or Simons, with the Corsair sometimes in there, but I don't know if it is still around. Since Princess took over the Cook, the Crow's Nest is for tourists, so that leaves Simon's, a bit touristy, but better.

Were brought to table immediately. Sat for 15 minutes after being passed by three waiters and not being acknowledged. Finally had to get the attention of a waiter who had a discussion with the hostess as to who was responsible for our table. As the waiter told us we were a "pick up" table and he guessed he was our waiter. No explanations as to specials of the evening or what came with a certain entree. Wine and beer Glasses were empty and were not asked about refills until towards the end of the meal. Food (pasta) appeared dried on top when served indicating sitting under a heat lamp for awhile.

Simon & Seaforts is a consistently delightful dining experience. I have been going to Simon's for the last 15 years and with all of the different hors d'oeuvres and dishes available I have yet to find one I didn't enjoy. They are very accommodating to food allergies (give them a heads up when making your reservation if there is something difficult to accommodate during busy hours - i.e. we've ordered the baked brie without the crumb mixture to avoid a wheat allergy and they swap out the toast with apples: delicious!). I've eaten there for both lunch and dinner and from seafood, to sandwiches and beef their food is super tasty.

It was the best birthday dinner I could send a friend and his fiancé on. They were both raving about the food, the waiter, the atmosphere, and the overall classy experience. They had a wonderful dinner and it was the best gift my friend could ask for.
