Simon & Seafort's Ratings and Reviews
With the entire restaurant empty they seated us right next to the one other couple in the building and then proceeded to seat every new customer around us. We were trying to celebrate a romantic birthday and the guy behind me kept bumping his chair into mine. When the place is empty please spread your customers out especially those who are there in hopes to celebrate a special occasion.
Perhaps it was the Chef's night off. In our party of 4, all agreed the food was mediocre for the price asked. My prime rib was overdone ( I requested medium); I didn't send it back, but should have. The amount of mashed potatoes on the plate was meager and the asparagus was good, but nothing special. We ate at Simon's often in the past, will probably do so again, but may wait a while. Aside from the food, the service was very good; our waiter was friendly, attentive and professional.
We go on a date night to a new restaurant every Friday and then compare it to others we've been to before, this one so far is my favorite. Service was great, got our food in a timely manner, the atmosphere was great, I really can't think of anything negative to say. It's a must try if you want everything to go smoothly and have a great evenin and great food!
The Food is always delicious at Simon and Seafort’s. The Prime Rib melts in your mouth. This time they had a great special before 6 that included a salad, an entree and a dessert.. I tried the beef medallions and they had a smoky taste. The fresh vegetables are always tasty and well cooked. The Brûlée had an incredible vanilla flavor. Highly recommend.
It was our anniversary dinner and they had rose petals on the table and also offered complimentary dessert! My partner asked if she could have her steak stuffed with blue cheese (wasn’t on the menu) and she said it was the best steak she’s had. Definitely recommend this place.
The Thanksgiving dinner was more like what you could get at Safeways than Simons. Flavor was far below what I would expect on this type of an occasion and for sure would rank far below other mid to upper level restaurants.
The facility is getting old and warn. Way overdue for an upgrade.
Service was very good especially considering the volume of people.
We selected Simon & Seaforts for our Thanksgiving Day lunch. All four in our party ordered the free range turkey dinner and it was delicious. The turkey tasted like you wished your turkey at home would taste, moist and tender. The portion size was large, so we had leftovers to take home. Our waitress , Robin, was professional, yet friendly and very attentive, despite the restaurant being super busy due to it being Thanksgiving Day. She seemed happy to be serving her customers and gave a wonderful example of high level customer service. After going to Simon & Seaforts for 35 years, it still has quality food at affordable prices.
We made reservations for Thanksgiving lunch. Check-in was efficient, and we were seated at a table with a beautiful view of the inlet. Our family enjoyed the sampler appetizer. The adults that ordered the turkey dinner were pleased with the presentation and the meal. I ordered the halibut, which was cold. Had the restaurant not been so busy, I would have sent it back for re-preparation. Service was lacking, as many members of our party had to wait for drink refills for extended periods. Overall, a good (not great) experience. Uncertain if we will return.
Not the 5star experience (or 4star for that matter) I was expecting for the hype of this restaurant. I’m by no means a food critic, but the average blue collar guy that was certainly over-dressed for the occasion. After the coat check you walk right next to the kitchen. The separation is made of glass, which displayed the obvious complacency to this viewable experience. Dining in the evening and sitting next to a window is a mute concept, which is obvious, however there isn’t much else to look at (thank God my wife is gorgeous). Ordered the Prime rib. Never again. Ever. Rather than rare, cold with NO SEAR or crusting. No season. Two bites of cold cow, and I’m done. The Teriaki beef appitizer was excellent, and the server, Dave, was great. For 2 bills, I’ll respectfully go somewhere else.
we have each lived in alaska over 30 years and had never been to simon and seafort's. we booked "a table with a view" for our anniversary, and we were so delighted to discover rose petals lay'd across our table upon our arrival!! waitress robin is professional and courteous, very helpful, quite attentive. the food was beyond excellent! we were offered a warm "no charge to you" muffin, and then we followed that with an appetizer before our meal. needless to say, simon and seafort's is one of our new favourite restaurants in the big city!!
