Silver Grille Ratings and Reviews
This is a nice restaurant with excellent service and food but rather restrictive opening hours (at least in October when we went to the restaurant).
Ambiance is high class and service (from one of the owners) was excellent. Food was unusual and very good. Wine selection, as would be expected in the Willamette area, was top class.
The only negative is that this restaurant did not have extensive opening hours (Wednesday to Sunday only and only for dinner, closing at 8:00 pm). This may have been due to the time of year, but we have had no time to verify this.
Highly recommended if your schedule and the restaurant opening hours coincide.
I have frequented this establishment several times and it never disappoints. I always look forward to what the chef will dream up. The visual art of the presentation, tantalizing fragrances rising up to surround you and the melt in your mouth bites that are soon to follow will stimulate all your senses at a reasonable price. Well worth the trip!
The Caesar salad was excellent and we both enjoyed our entrees (pork and beef). The sauces under which the meat was served was phenomenal. The chef circulated with the customers and was engaging. The service was good and the wine list was comprehensive. A very pleasurable dining experience, one I would be anxious to both recommend and experience again.
We've been dining at the Silver Grill for 4 years, it has never failed to wow us!
The owners are very gracious, food is always farm fresh and artfully prepared.
We live on the Washington coast, so it is always a special occasion when we can get away to come in for diner. Keep up the great work guys and thank you for satisfying our quest to eat exceptional and healthy food!
We celebrated friends' wedding anniversary and the setting was great for a special occasion. Everyone liked their meals and the service was good. Brought out a lovely decorated dessert plate saying happy anniversary. The noise level was a bit too much for our older ears. Some softening with rugs or wall hangings would help.
We are planning to have a wedding rehearsal dinner at Silver Grille so my wife and I and the bride and groom to be had dinner there to check it out. The food was fantastic! great ambiance, wine list, special cocktails and menu. Could not have made a better choice for the rehearsal dinner.
I have already recommended the Silver Grille to a couple of colleagues and can't wait to eat there in October.
We fell upon tjis little restaurant by accident. It was love at first bite. Local veggies, local beef/pork/chicken and seafood. My wife and I have spent the last 5 anniversaries, and 6 anniversaries here. We will continue to be regulars. Whether you are a "foodie or looking for a wonderful meal, this is THE spot to go. I tell everybody that comes from out of town, that we will be dining here. Absolutely amazing. The chef takes your order, and makes you truly feel part of the family. He and his wife are amazing people, and even better restaraunters.
This restaurant has an excellent reputation with a regional draw, so we have been wanting to visit for some time. But due to the distance, we kept putting it off. Now we are sorry we didn't go sooner. The owner / chef is highly skilled and creative. Make sure you get reservations and enjoy the drive to a delightful meal.
Ninteenth anniversary dinner. Good service, reservation held even though we were fifteen minutes late.
Food -- fettuccine was ok but nothing amazing. My wife's surf and turf, though, was excellent. I stole a couple of bites and was impressed with the quality ingredients and preparation. Recommended wine was also first rate.
Dessert -- uh, not so much. Can't recommend the peach cobbler -- kinda mushy with a scoop of icy frozen ice cream on top. Surprising after such a good entree.
Overall it was a good (if somewhat pricey) dinner, and we'd try Silver Grille again
Silver Grille is always wonderful. Chef Jeff creates amazing food out of local ingredients, so the menu on the website might not be accurate. There are specials on the chalkboard. I had the pork special with a bourbon bacon sauce. My husband had the slow cooked trip tip with seasonal vegetables. Yummy!
The service is outstanding, at the level of the University Club in Portland for responsiveness and being unobtrusive. They actually managed to sneak in and refill my water glass without me noticing. Which was a feat as I was at a two person table with my glass on the wall side of the table.
One of the nice touches is that the waiter determined when to put the next course order in, so we had time to relax and enjoy the food and not feel rushed. We never had a course arrive immediately on the heels of the previous or while we were finishing an existing one.
Both the bottled wine list and the by-the-glass list are very good. There was an excellent local white blend on the glass list.
It only has about 11 or so tables, so it seating is VERY limited. Which means the cooks aren't overwhelmed preparing food for hundreds and can take the time to put the best touches on a dish.
The food was excellent, between the home cured salami on the cheese plate appetizer, hand made Caesar salad dressing that was not over dressed, fresh veggies and meat on the main course. The desserts were just as good as the rest of the meal. The bread was fresh and appeared to be made on site.
Small, very friendly, unusually quiet dinner only place with limited but adequate menu with excellent preparation and presentation of the food. The service is superb. Did not have dessert - too full from dinner - but it looked decadent. Worth a trip to Silverton. Upscale food, service and pricing.
