We met friends who were in town visiting from Canada. Lunch was delicious. We all had the mixed green salad with lobster! it was excellent!
I met 5 friends for dinner before a show and we were seated quickly at a patio table (requested). Service was great and they provide prompt food delivery; however everything was great except my Brussel sprout salad. I've had it before (and would order it again) but I think it had been made ahead and sat. It did not look , nor taste fresh. That being said, the sandabs were terrific, burrata/tomato salad special and short ribs that my friends ordered were all terrific. We'll be back
I couldn't decide between their mussels and one of his all-time favorites, veal liver. The server said the flies are drawn to mussels (yes, there were flies around) so I opted for the liver. My wife had an unpronounceable seafood soup.
Before the entrees came, the server brought over a small plate filled with Tabasco sauce. She said it helped with the flies and it did. But my wife's soup had several mussels. She quickly de-shelled them and the server removed the shells and added a second plate of Tabasco.
If this doesn't sound like a five star review yet, it's because I haven't yet descibed how wonderful our entrees were. My wife's soup was filled with mussels, shrimp, scallops and fish. And the broth!!! Wow, just outstanding...
I thought my liver was the best I'd ever had. Topped with grilled onions and bacon, it was exceptional. By the way, both our entrees came with a delicious scoop of spinach mousse.
While my wife ordered a mango ice for dessert, I had another order of their bread to sop up the remaining broth from my soup.
Our service was great, our meal was superior and the weather cooperated, too.
Excellent food and menu selection. Very nice outdoor seating perfect for a warm desert evening. Very good service. Prices on the high side but appropriate for a high class restaurant in this area.
The service as well as the meal was excellent. Will definitely be back soon.
Great table good food @ service
This was the first time that I have not agreed with my friends posting reviews on Open Table. Our server was possibly one of the least chatty, least engaged, least caring waitresses I've every had, and the food wasn't good enough to overcome the poor way we were treated. We left feeling like just another group of three not worthy of a pleasant greeting, some light conversation, or a friendly relationship. Sure, we tipped, and it was far too much.
The food was okay, but it wasn't really fair to judge it, as we were so totally unimpressed by the service.
We won't be back, and there are far too many good options in the neighborhood for us to even consider this as a viable option.
Always delicious - greeted warmly by Sylvie, attentive waiter, brunch options are all inviting and delicious. We SO enjoy Si Bon.
Excellent Food and drink. Nice atmosphere. The Wienersnitzel is outstanding. The liver and onions are also excellent
Hostess asked our name then immediately took a phone call and left us standing there which was a little disappointing. Then our waitress ended up behind the bar so we didn’t get to order our food for over 30 minutes. Glad we weren’t in a hurry. Food was good so there was that. I’d try it again but they need to work on service.
Delicious! Great dining atmosphere. All food is fresh and yummy. Will definitely make go back.
One of the best and finest restaurant in north Palm Desert. Definitely worth trying. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Would suggest reservation.
Their food is excellent; each dish is given its own individual twist so it stands out. It is a great neighborhood restaurant. The wait staff is excellent as well.
Superb server and pleasant outdoor setting though adjacent to a parking lot. Menu is French-Belgian and prices quite reasonable. fine salad. Previous dinners of mussels (from British Columbia) and fries were outstanding. There may be a seasonal variance in BC mussels as there is in Europe and this time, they were quite small and relatively tasteless. Frites were excellent as before. Fried veal dish ordered by friends was just above average.
Service was slow getting started, water was served to four tables, two of which were seated after us, so I finally had to ask for water even though the server would look over at our table. However, the food is always good as expected...just need better service.
Made a last minute decision to have brunch/lunch at SiBon because we were in the neighbourhood. Snagged a nice seat on the patio and were greeted immediately by our server Armando. My husband ordered a crepe which he said was wonderful. My crab cake Benedict took a couple tries before it came out hot but didn’t cause any real distress. Next time I would probably order the crepe because the crab cake was underwhelming and the waffle base wasn’t that impressive either. In any case, we were well looked after and were kindly given a discount without us asking for one. We would definitely return.
As always has been, meal & service was excellent
My friends from Colorado and my husband and I went to Sunday brunch last Sunday. All of our dishes were great, but my friend said his blueberry pancakes were the best he ever ate! My other friend ordered the Quiche (which I usually order and is ALWAYS wonderful) and I had the very light, "melt in your mouth" Belgian waffles. Si Bon is a local favorite for us and now it's a "must go" for our Colorado friends, when they are in town!
Awesome experience. Our Waitress, Kelly was phenomenal. The food is always great. Came out to dinner with another couple that never been.....they are sold on Si Bon.
We have dined at Si Bon many times and it is one of our favorites. The food while not cutting edge is always very good and the portions ample. The service is generally very good. Our only complaint is shared by most restaurants in the Palm Springs area and probably is getting to be universal. It was VERY noisy because the tables are crammed together. Even if you arrive with 2 people, you feel like you are dining with a dozen. Whatever happened to the quiet romantic dining spot? My guess is that it quiet and comfort are conducive to lingering, which is the last thing a restaurant owner wants. They want to turn over the tables as quickly as they reasonably can.
That said, we will continue to eat at Si Bon because it is one of the best in this area.
Really great meal and excellent service. Beef strog and brussel sprouts salad, lobster salad, and soups were beyond wonderful.
This was an 80th birthday celebration for a close friend. We were seated on the patio, which was fine, but a bit noisy - mostly because there were a lot of people there enjoying lunch and having a good time, so no complaints about that. The staff was attentive, interactive and fun. Everyone enjoyed their meal - we all said we would come back. The "birthday girl" was treated to a special desert which we all shared - it was soooo good!! The hostess came out and made a point to thank us for coming as we were leaving which was a nice personal touch.
pre symphony. Got us in and out on time, food delivery fast, hot and delicious. great Sand Dabs. but the 9 hole escargot, Fab fab fab
This is a great place for creative Belgian cuisine for lunch or dinner. We have been here many times and always had a great meal. The lobster chopped salad and the waffle sandwiches are great. Also love their beef stroganoff and of course the steamed mussels. Can't go wrong here.
We sat outside on a lovely night. The server was most pleasant and helpful, and we had a great experience. My favourite....steak tartare and Caymus Cabernet paired with favourite friends.
Very Noisy restaurant. Food is average but pricey.
Flies were terrible, service was slow, food excellent
As always great food. They try very hard to meet your expectations . Food is presented very nice. We eat with our eyes first.
This is our favorite desert restaurant. Chef Philippe never disappoints! Easter Brunch was extremely busy yet the food and service were first rate!
We had scrambled eggs with roasted potatoes, fresh arugula, corn muffin and house cured Canadian bacon. Excellent. We also had poached eggs with smoked salmon on their famous waffles - wow!
Si Bon is a wonderful restaurant and is usually always very busy so we recommend reservations!
Enjoyed our Easter Brunch tremendously. Was nice to choose off the menu rather than a full buffet.
First off, they did not honor the outside seating request that was given as an option on Open Table. When they seated us they gave us the worst table in the restaurant (waiters coming from two directions and people coming in and out past this table. I insisted on another table (our party agreed to leave with that didn't find us another table).
The food could only be called fair. One person's scallops tasted off. The frites had to be sent because they were uncooked and not hot and my muscles were just ok. The third person had veal liver and declared it ok.
We will not return.
I could not get a reservation until 8 pm although preferred earlier. I had been here before and enjoyed it in the past. When we arrived our table was ready but everything seemed a bit rushed. When our main courses came out within a minute of the appetizers we knew something was wrong. I don't think I have ever received food that fast. Otherwise the server was efficient and the food is good, but I don't appreciate being rushed when you pay these prices. Don't go at 8 pm or later. By 9pm we were among the last people there.
We eat here fairly often. While the food is good the service can sometimes be slow. Also, the last time we ate here we ordered our food and in 5 minutes it was in front of us. Far too quickly as we were still enjoying our cocktails and visiting. It gives the impression that they are trying to turn tables.
Outstanding food and service!
Have dined here several time and have always been impressed with the food and service. This last visit was very disappointing. The service was terrible. The waiter forgot to bring the soup out and when askedabout it, said that it would come out with the entree. He then proceeded to entirely forget one of our parties orders and they had to wait for their food to be delivered late in the meal. The food was good as usual fortunately. Not a very good experience. I hoped this was just an anomaly and we will dine there in the future.
Will not go back. Food was over prepared , mushy veggies dried out fish. For all four guests.
Had heard great things about the restaurant but was a bit disappointed. We made a reservation over a week in advance and had to sit at a tiny table indoors instead of on the patio. I had the pastrami waffle sandwich which was weird and didn't taste good at all. Should have ordered something else.
Nice outdoor location. We were not really excited about the food. My wife ordered waffles, and they were so cold the butter just sat on the top. They quickly brought her another one.
My chicken and waffles weren’t memorable
My fiancé and I were having a romantic weekend away. Si Bon appeared in our feed of places for the best brunch/breakfast. We were advised to make a reservation - and we did. Upon arrival, our table was waiting and ready. There is limited space in the patio area - so be aware that you will hear everything. We ordered mimosas and the bubbly berries (which were awesome). We ordered our meals shortly after... prior to ordering our meals everything was amazing. We ordered our meals... and once they finally came ... they both were cold to the touch. Cold waffles and cold eggs benedict just do not taste awesome. My fiancé doesn’t complain and assumed that the runner just didn’t bring out our plates immediately. I didn’t complain as I didn’t want to be ‘that’ person. Meal was okay, I would wager that had the meals both been served when they were hot — our feedback would be better. I would be willing to give them a second try ... but may try another location first. I spent $50 and the best part of the meal was the bubbly berries.
We love Si Bon. Pretty decor, great service and wonderful food! We had omelettes for Sunday Brunch.
