The food was great and the service was 5 stars also the overall restaurant experience was wonderful. We went on date night while we were in town on Saturday night.
Stellar. Everything was wonderful about this evening. Our servers were top notch and I couldn’t have asked for a better dinner
The service was impeccable and he food was even better. This was our 4th visit to Seagar’s and it never disappoints.
The food and service are always top notch. There has never been a time I've ever not fully enjoyed my meal.
First time at this restaurant...beautiful place. Traditional decor for a steakhouse....dark wood, etc. This hotel is in the Sandestin Hilton...there is no outdoor seating. Men must wear long slacks, collared shirt and closed toed shoes, which fits the ambience of the restaurant. Women are good with resort casual, or dressier.
We were early for our reservation, so stopped for a drink in the bar...French martini was very good as was the service.
The maitre’d and the Captain were very good, but our waiter, Joseph, was outstanding! Very personable and the right amount of attentive....the food, especially the steaks (filets) were excellent. Sides are meant to be shared and were excellent. We enjoyed the key lime tart for dessert.
A very good upscale dining experience in a sea of fast food and casual restaurants....
We would recommend this restaurant if you are in Destin/Sandestin.
Third time dining there, previous experiences were great. When they called to confirm the reservation they asked if it was a special occasion. I said we were celebrating my birthday. They said great, we would be getting a complimentary desert. We arrived about 5 mins early for our 6 PM reservation and sat immediately. However our waiter seemed to be new at this and distracted by a large party they sat in his area. Long story short I ordered a lobster bisque (yum!) and we both had salads. Took a long time for both. The salads were cleared at 6:55 and we waited for our entrees until about 7:30. They did end up not charging us for the steaks due to the wait but, not to sound ungrateful, we never received our promised desert or even any acknowledgement of the birthday. Great restaurant! But quite a slip on this evening.
Although a bit pricey but worth the cost; would readily recommend this location for a great dining experience. Service was excellent as was the food. All restaurant personnel, even those not assigned to our seating area, were immediately attentive to our needs. Menu provided a variety of choice selections for adult tastes; would not recommend for children as food serving proportions and prices are not child size and child selection appropriate. Overall experience was great. My only non supporting comment; wine selection, once opened and poured, was not left at our table; therefore had to gain the attention of service personnel for a glass refill. Would suggest that bottle be left at patron table for self service as are other restaurants we visit.
The food, service and ambiance were all outstanding. Overall, as fine a meal as any of us have had in some time. We highly recommend it and will return.
Great food and service.
FOOD AND SERVICE WAS GREAT...BEST MEAL I HAVE HAD IN QUITE A WHILE. Sommelier was very helpful
It was a very elegant restaurant. Very attentive to our needs. Beautiful place. The food was outstanding!
Fabulous ending to our family vacation. Romeo did a beautiful service job. A very special evening . Thank you Seagar’s.
Great food ( fresh, tasty, appetizing looking, hot, great condiments, great chef) and even the kids food was fresh not like most restaurants, Our waiter in top 1% we ever had: very knowledgeable, fast, extremely nice, perfect. Very bad are the 2 ladies that do the seating and the bread girl ( they are very rude, and they seem like we’re out of medications or worse).
First time for us, but certainly not the last! This is a hidden gem! Food was beautifully prepared and the service was exceptional. The wine selection is awesome, and the Captain was very knowledgeable and helpful. Brandi is a wonderful server! Very friendly atmosphere!
The service was amazing, and all of the food was delicious. Seagar's brought my girlfriend and I a cake for our anniversary.
Hands down best steaks I've ever had have been here, delicious every time with out failure.
Food quality and prep over the top. Service simply doting. Another great memory.
A five star experience and definitely a five star restaurant!
I have been going to Seagars for years....it has been a long time favorite of my wife and I. I ordered the porterhouse and it was awful. The steak was raw and so much gristle on the strip side I only had two bites and left the rest. It put a major damper on my plans to return after going there probably as long as they have been open especially when the bill came. I'm not a cost counter only when its uneatable.
We celebrated our anniversary at Seagar’s with family and we loved the ambiance. They had a piano player and the music was a really nice touch. The service was excellent and it is a true dining experience. The food was good,
but stay with the steak. They have seafood, but it’s not what they do best.
All was good until the time between when we finished our appetizers and the entrees came. That was over thirty minutes and closer to forty. Someone choked and lost track of us, more concerned about the table of seven near us. Even after I complained to TWO different servers at the thirty minute mark, no apologies, no sorry, and another ten minutes went by before the food came. And no offer to take this or that off the check or free dessert. Needless to say, you lose your dining momentum and joy when there is that kind of lapse and failure. They blew it on how long it took between courses AND not admitting the failure and making up for it. Hence the 12% tip.
Awesome Food! Awesome service! Will be back soon!
Special accommodations were made & appreciated.
The restaurant is beautiful, the food is amazing and the service superb!
Outstanding food. Bob, the Maitre d/sommelier, manager - keeps everything running smoothly.
He is on top of everything and is gifted at handling special occasions.
Excellent food. Enjoyable interaction with staff who are knowledgable about the food and preparation. Pricey. Nice for a special occasion.
Great food and atmosphere. The best fine dinning in all of Destin.
Ambiance, food , service, wine selections the absolute BEST.
My wife and I dined at Seagar's this past Saturday March 10th to celebrate our 34th Wedding Anniversary. We made reservations a couple of weeks in advance, with a couple of special requests. We were greeted with huge friendly smiles and treated like rock stars. Bob was kind enough to provide us a private dining room. One of our special requests was a personalized menu. We collect menus from various special occasions such as Anniversaries and Birthdays, have the event printed on the menu ("Happy 34th Anniversary Becky & David"), have the Chef sign it, and we have them framed. We have several decorating the walls of our kitchen, dining areas, and hallways. Seeing the menus from all over the world refreshes some great memories.
Point is, Seagar's had our menu ready and waiting for us, along with the flowers delivered the previous day on our table. We were highly impressed with the quality of the wait staff, their menu knowledge, and professional service. And the food quality....oh my, where should I begin. Just outstanding!!! This is a must visit restaurant for those who are looking for a memorable meal. Between the private room, the menu, the flowers and the rock-star service, my "husband brownie points" are met for at least for a couple of weeks....maybe. :>))
service was abysmal in a way I cannot describe. our server refused to pay us any mind at all, and when forced to (when I flagged down several different members of the service staff) he was terse, curt, uninterested, and not knowledgeable about anything I asked for. he never asked for our drink orders, never checked again, never informed us about desserts, never asked about the quality of the food, never inquired about dessert orders or dessert drinks, and, again, it took an embarrassing about of rubbernecking to even get the attention of the allegedly dedicated "captain." we have eaten here for years and years, and we shouldn't have to beg for service. (to be fair: the server seemed new and anxious, but it remains inexcusable, at this level.)
Well done. They graciously replaced a bottle of wine that
didn’t measure up to expectations. Food was excellent.
My wife and I look forward to dining here once a year when we are in town. If this was our first time visit, we would probably not be back.
It looked like they had 3 or 4 large groups and this greatly impacted the service and experience. The captain was not attentive, only spoke with him when he told us about the special and to bring the check.
Our normal captain, Scott, was unavailable due to the large groups and the experience suffered because of it. We always have a wonderful experience when Scott is in charge.
It got to the point of waiting for our dinner, that I was close to asking if it wasn’t prepared, to cancel and would have left. The server came by and said we were next up, so we waited.
The food was awesome as it normally is. No complaints there.
Nice environment, well dressed and effective staff. Provided focused support for the dining experience without being pushy or overly intrusive. Loud piano music.
Food presentation was timely and pleasant with appropriate portions. All the dishes were pleasant and tasteful but slightly underwhelming versus price. All in all, if entertaining/ trying to impress, this is a good option.
This is one of our absolute favorite restaurants! We ordered the crab cake and pork belly for appetizers, the 2 3/4 pound Maine Lobster and Prime Rib for our entrees, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, and truffle fries for sides, and the chocolate sufflee for dessert. Everything was outstanding! This restaurant is a fine dining restaurant and with that comes a pretty price tag but it is well worth every penny! We return every year on Valentine’s Day!
It was a very memorable experience by both my wife and I. Unique in many ways and a very impressive encounter.
We have dined there many times and always have good food and service. It varies by visit and who the Waite staff is but more good than bad.
New York strip this visit had a lot of gristle in it but the flavor was good.
Lobster tail was small for the price but favor and texture were good.
Good was use 4 times in this review and no excellent thus the 4 out of 5 review.
Everything was perfect, Paul was fantastic. ...again! We have him every year. But if I was going to mention something, the amount of casual dress for such a great place was subpar. I always wear a shirt and tie. Unfortunately, there was very little of that, this time. Made it seem "not as high class" as in the past, though everything else was perfect. I'm not wealthy, but I still went out and bought a nice shirt and a tie for $150 (didn't realize what I'd done walking into Brooks Brothers), but nevertheless, I got it done. Others should do the same. Had a great time though. A $300 meal warrants a dress code though. Just a thought.
Have been going to Seagar's for 15 years and have never been disappointed. Menu is extensive and portions large. The entire wait staff is outstanding. Men are expected to wear coats.
We were having a friends' get-together for a group of ten. Bob at Seegars arranged a lovely table for ten. The food, ambiance, and service, were impeccable.
Seagars didn't fail to impress. Wonderful ambiance. Impeccable service and of course the food was outstanding.
