We've always enjoyed our visits to Sassi and this was no exception. The menu is interesting and enjoyable and the views are beautiful. The service is always excellent and I recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet, lovely experience.

Food was very good. Ambience was outstanding. Service left a little to be desired. Our waiter stayed away for long periods of time and turns out the kitchen was backed up because of two big parties so the food was slow to come out.

I was just there on Saturday for the third time in as many months and I have to say that Sassi is quickly become a favorite of mine. The location, atmosphere, service and comfortable dining environment puts it near the top of my list for impeccable fine dining experiences. All the ambiance, comfort and culture of some of the over priced restaurants who survive mostly on name value alone, without all the pretentiousness that goes along with it. The menu is incredible and they keep it fresh and the wine selection is quite impressive. A real gem with nice ambiance and a better value in the otherwise "same old same old" fine dining options available in north Scottsdale. Highly recommended.

Excellence from start to finish; simply a classy place. The facility itself is impressive, the service is top notch, and the food is a step or two beyond superb. Highly recommend the octopus, gnocchi, and the scallops. Wine list is expansive and impressive, as is the wine knowledge of the servers. Expect to pay well for the above, but unlike a lot of pricey restaurants, Sassi is worth it!!

We come here every time we are in Scottsdale. It's the meal we look forward to most. Jimmy is the best waiter. He explains every item on the menu with the excitement that made us feel he was the chef. Go early. The crowd fills up then it's quite noisy. The gnocchi was better than I've ever had. So was the beet salad. And don't miss the cannolis!

Outstanding in every way...Maybe Scottsdale's finest. Incomparable setting, friendly and highly competent service...interesting menu.
Superb food ...try the corn ravioli filled with mascarpone as well as ricotta, with the
most tender lobster inalight broth-like sauce...as a small example . beware...
SASSI's can be addictive!

Great experience from beginning to end. The setting is bot to be believed ..Pinnacle Peak in the near background . Fabulous food & wonderful service...what a treasure !! Can not wait to be back in Scottsdale & return to Sassi!!!

Such a fantastic place, if off the beaten path a bit. Food was magnificent and the ambiance/setting of this place is as good as anywhere in the Phx/Scottsdale area. Only minor complaints were that our server was very new and very tentative - she'll get much better with time. And I would like to see a few more items on the menu.
But none of that diminished our experience at all - great food and beautiful restaurant.

We had a wonderful evening with girlfriends out on the patio. The service was attentive, the food was delicious and it reminded me what a great restaurant this is. I'm certainly going to be coming back far more regularly!

Had the most wonderful experience on Sunday night at Sassi. Tom waited on us as if we were his best friends (even though we just met) providing an extraordinary knowledge of the menu and spot-on recommendations. The hostess sat us in the perfect spot to see Pinnacle Peak at sunset and with Tom's suggestions, we had an amazing dinner, the perfect red wine, and a dessert to die for. We don't spend three hours often while dining out, but we did this time and it was because Sassi staff made us feel welcomed and appreciated and gave us top-notch service. And then the bill came and it was only $200 for four people including a bottle of wine, an appetizer, four entrees, four coffees and a dessert. We were quite pleased. Keep doing what you're doing Sassi. You are a complement to Scottsdale's fine dining choices.

We were completely pleased with our experience at Sassi's. We met with two couples from out of state for dinner, and they were equally as pleased. The service was impeccable. The meals were thoroughly enjoyed by each of us. We will definitely recommend Sassi to others and hope to return in the future.

Outstanding ambiance. Food and wine excellent. Service began excellent wine was decanted into carafe all excellent presentation. But then our server disappeared for large gaps of time, we were left to pour our wine ourselves. Guessing our server was attending tables in another room, as we were the only table in this room being served. Service was fine when she was around. Food was excellent , we did the special family style dinner, all good. We were entertaining an out of town friend, very enjoyable overall experience. We love Sassi !

the setting is gorgeous--outdoor dining a must in good weather though the several dining rooms are beautiful and promote a romantic atmosphere--the service was outstanding--attentive, helpful, not hovering but always available --the antipasti and primi were by far the better courses--and if you are lucky enough to have the sweet corn ravioli with lobster--you will think you have been transported to food heaven! the menu changes 3 or 4 times a year and a few specials are offered each evening--a genuine lovely experience

We've been going to Sassi for a number of years. Beautiful rooms, great leather sofas in the bar and terrific food. Only minor issue is that the wait staff, always friendly, are not familiar with the wines and specialty drinks. Seems like they're making it up on the fly.
Other than that, wonderful pastas. Gnocchi light as a feather. Octupus is beyond compare.
BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT, BUT VERY AVERAGE ...
BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT, BUT VERY AVERAGE FOOD. WE HAD THE ITALIAN SHARED PLATE SPECIAL WHICH CONSISTED OF A GREEN SALAD, ROAST CHICKEN, HOUSE MADE SAUSAGE, AND SOME WARM OLIVES. THE OLIVES WERE PROBABLY THE BEST PART OF THE MEAL. THE BREAD WAS ALSO GOOD. THE CHICKEN WAS VERY AVERAGE. THE HOUSE MADE SAUSAGE NO BETTER THAN THE SAUSAGE AT WHOLE FOODS. THERE WAS ALMOST NO VEGETABLE WITH THE MEAL, SO I CANNOT COMMENT ON THE QUALITY. THE SALAD WAS JUST A SALAD, NOTHING SPECIAL. I THINK SASSI IS CATERING MOSTLY TO LARGE WEDDING PARTIES THAT DON'T CARE ABOUT THE COST OR THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD. THEY JUST WANT THE AMBIENCE OF THIS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND ROMANTIC PLACE.

From the moment we walked in , we could tell that Sassi was special. The ambiance, food and service did not disappoint. During cooler temps in AZ, the patio dining would be exceptional. Since it was a bit warm when we were there, the four of us chose to stay inside where it was quiet enough for conversation without much background noise. The food was terrific from appetizers through desert and the service was attentive without being intrusive. When we return to AZ, this place is on our do not miss list.

We are regulars at Sassi since we live in the neighborhood. This restaurant never disappoints. The food and service are excellent. The cocktails are generous and reasonably priced for their size. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm. The dining rooms are beautiful and comfortable.
Also, this is not your usual Italian food. The cuisine is creative, perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The chef spares no effort to provide you with a unique dining experience that will please your palate time and time again. There are a couple of dishes that we literally crave. My wife loves the Orecchiette, which is a perfect blend of ear shaped pasta, sausage, rapini, Pecorino cheese and red chiles. One of my favorites is the Saffron Cavatelli. It is small corkscrew shaped pasta with a spicy pork ragu, Pecorino cheese and hints of marjoram. For good measure, the chef includes a few chunks of very tender, delicious pork along with the ragu.
We nearly always have the Prosciutto di Parma appetizer with a warm grape salad. Yum! We have also had the grilled prime Flat Iron Steak and the wood grilled Branzino. Both are incredible. Visit this place. You cannot go wrong here...in fact, you will probably be hooked like us and come back again and again.

We had a fabulous birthday dinner at Sassi last Saturday which is my favorite place to celebrate any special occasion! We were greeted by Lauren, the reservation manager, who very kindly and graciously worked with me prior to our dinner to accommodate a special request and several changes to our reservation. Our server and the wine steward were terrific - very knowledgeable and attentive to our party of seven. The food, as always, was simply amazing! Most importantly, our friend whose birthday we were celebrating said she had a lovely evening and looks forward to coming back to Sassi again soon. Thank you to everyone at Sassi for a fabulous and very special evening!!

My fiance and I were celebrating our anniversary. We have always heard amazing things about Sassi and decided this was a perfect opportunity to try it. The food and wine were delicious-- we loved the asparagus and bruschetta appetizers! The service was wonderful and friendly, and the environment was quiet and romantic. Would highly recommend to everyone!

If you are looking for atmosphere, then this is the place! It is just beautiful on the inside and the outside. The staff is always pleasant. The food is good quality, a bit pricey, but it is a nice change from the typically fine dining restaurants in North Scottsdale.

My wife and I enjoyed a nice evening at the place we were married in 2008. Appetizers we phenomenal and the cocktails were tasty so we were all geared up for another outstanding meal at our special place. Unfortunately, we were left a little flat. The food was good, not great. It seemed to lack the flavor that dishes from Sassi are known for, so we were let down. Overall the experience, service and setting is completely worth the price of admission. We will continue to dine at Sassi because we know how amazing the food can be. We are hoping that we caught them on an off night
