Saranello's Ratings and Reviews

Always enjoy Saranellos. We did have a snafu whereby the maitreD said he did not have our reservation from Open Table. He tends to not be the nicest of gentleman. He blamed open table then seated us anyway. It's good that Open table knew we went. Food was very good and the time was lovely. Lasagna is great as is the banana tiramisu.

Still my favorite Italian place. Incredible value at lunch too. Four of us got 4 different entrees and we loved them all. From chicken parmigiana to shrimp diabolo and anything with their braised beef. Huge portions too. The only huge problem this time was the service. Or lack thereof on a Friday at 1:30 when our reservation was for. The hostess walked away as 3 of us walked in and seemed to not really want to be bothered. Our waitress was the bartender and by the time she finally moseyed over she didn't even ask if we wanted anything to drink. She never even asked as we ordered lunch. Someone brought our 3 salads and it took us 5 min to flag down the waitress for the 4th one's soup.

Service has been on the decline here for a while but tonight was the penultimate bad customer relations experience. Bus service terribly slow, the bus person turned away to avoid our eyes to refill water ( I just got up and did it myself). Our pleasant waitress kept doing it for the ineffectual bus person, WHEN ASKED, while bus person was loudly talking about football with another waiter, instead of taking care of our table...ALL NIGHT! Bad managerial supervisor, but nobody's perfect.
Well, after a call to the manager, AND a verbal reminder to the hostess, that we wanted a surprise dessert for the THREE birthday celebrants (I was clear I would pay for them), they still forgot to do it. We sang HBD to them over a glass of water, so the sweet waitress ran and brought us ONE piece of cake with a candle for our 3 birthday celebrants. Way to make us feel special, lettuce.
Btw, Saranello's has forgotten to surprise the birthday celebrant in our party before, but since we like the food we thought we'd give them another chance. Major fail!
Complained to the other manager (the one I spoke with had gone home...I know their names but am not publishing them), who repeated "What do you want me to do?" 3 or 4 times. I told him I would like him to rewind the evening to when we had called ahead, to when we snuck away to tell the hostess, & not screw up. No apology from anyone, we paid for the 3 birthday surprises they EVENTUALLY brought to the table. This restaurant has obviously sunk to pretty sub-LEY, sub-standard levels.
Terrible management. Told this story to a few people, they all agree that the service there has been atrocious for a while. This is an LEY restaurant? Really!!??

Very nice décor with an open floor plan. Excellent food with good sized portions. Very attentive wait staff. Always somewhere there if you needed anything at all. It was our anniversary and they recognized it nicely. Would recommend to anyone. We had a great time.

We had an excellent waiter (David) that was very attentive but gave us plenty of time and space to visit as well.
He paced our meal very well by having us order one course at a time. Most wait staff don't do this and often courses come too close together.

A wonderful dinner experience. Jake made everything special. We started with Minestrone soup and Beet salad. My husband had Mussels in a white wine gravy. He loved it. Our entrees were Chicken Parmigiana with Potato Gnocchi. Just delicious. We had Banana Tiramisu for dessert. Just a perfect evening at Saranello's.

Although we thoroughly the food and our waitperson, the wait for our food was almost 40 minutes from the time of ordering. This really was unacceptable for a LEYE location. In addition, it decreased turnover for the staff. We will probably return but will think twice.

Had not been to Saranello's for over a year but we will be back again soon. My husband had the short ribs over mashed potatoes-talk about melt in your mouth and the gravy was very flavorful. I had the spinach gnocchi with housemade chicken sausage & mushrooms - what a wonderful flavor combination. Our waitress was efficient, without pushing us out the door. Surprisingly it was very crowded for a Tuesday night.
The Lettuce restaurants know how to put out a consistently good product.

Wine glasses were dirty and had lipstick on them when we got them, they don't tell you there is an additional charge if you want a side salad or soup. I'm not cheap by any means but really 10 for a side salad. I probably won't go again. Stay at the hotel it's connected to pretty often but I'll go to Cooper's hawk instead and get my money's worth.

We have been here many times before, and the food is good as usual. However, this time the service was really terrible. They obviously did not have enough wait staff for a Saturday night, even though we were there early (5:45 pm). The waiter was friendly at first, but once it got busier, we never saw him again. We couldn't get our check when we needed to leave for the theater, and when the manager tried to help it just made it worse. The bus boy was also terrible - spilled things on me and on the floor, tried to take plates before we were finished. He needs better training.

We frequent this restaurant, and were looking forward to another good meal at Saranello's. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing. I needed to find a manager to finally get our meal after a 45 min wait. We understand that kitchens get backed up and busy and accept that unexpected delays happen. But our main complaint was the lack of acknowledgment once we complained. The manager never followed up, our server seemed to avoid us, coffee/dessert was never offered. I would have hoped that management would have found a way to offer us something for our inconvenience instead of ignoring us

Saranello's is the restaurant to go to for the best chicken parmigiana. Our friends had chicken with peppers that looked very good too. A side of pasta made our meals so good. Just another great meal at Saranello's .

Dining was great, the bar not so much. Server said we could take wine glasses with us since we had an event at the hotel. We returned the glasses when we came back for more glasses of wine. The bartenders would not serve the wine in glasses, only plastic cups, even though we were staying in the hotel. Some in our party went to a liquor store and returned with bottles of wine and plastic wine glasses. It ended up being a cheaper night of drinking. So maybe it was good that the bartenders would not let us reuse our wine glasses.
