My friends & I really enjoyed eating out at Sansei. Great food & great service went well with many laughs and a friendly environment. Great selection on the menu for food & drinks for everybody and child & family friendly. I strongly would recommend Sansei to a friend.

Good food. Good service. Didn't like the fact there was an extremely loud and obnoxious woman at the bar who should have been cut off. She must have known the staff. She was walking around the restaurant yelling and laughing very loudly disrupting most patrons. Very annoying.

The food was average at best. My calamari tested like dried out leather, the sushi rolls looked and tasted like they were made from a cooking class. The Hamachi kama was ok.
I got sick later that evening as did my daughter. My mom was visiting wanted to try the place since she saw an ad for Sansei. I

Very fresh fish and the hamachi was outstanding. the simple rolls carry the best value for flavor, quality and cost. Service was quick and the two drinks we tried were very good. The two negatives would be the high prices and the cold air conditioning (reason we left early).

Awful! Went here based on the numerous positive reviews. Sushi was about the worst I've ever had, sushi rice was terrible, tuna roll was soggy, edamame tasted old. Nothing fresh about the place. Three babies crying (not the restaurant’s fault, but it’s evidentially just the the kind of place where people bring a lot of babies and children). We left hungry (because we just didn't want to finish), and very disappointed. There are much better places in Maui.

My husband and I were to Sansei for dinner on New Year's Eve. The place was packed, but we were able to get two seats at the bar. Our waitress was very friendly and seemed happy to answer our questions. The food was okay. The nigiri specials were not as fresh as we would have wanted. The oyster appetizers and sushi rolls were flavorful, but the combinations of elements were a bit off.

We've been patronizing this restaurant since opening on this night for the first time the quality has changed. Portions was much smaller on nigiri sushi, sauce for the Pablo crusted ahi was broken and did not taste the same at all. Not sure what happened and I was a little disappointed considering it was my family's Xmas dinner.

Sushi is much better at home. Small portions for the amount charged! A $14.95 roll was 1/2 the size of other places. We truly were shocked and disappointed. Sansei was great in its hay day but is no longer. Happy hour prices maybe acceptable if you can get in.

Sansei Kihei is a great place for Japanese food, Sushu and Sashimi. Creative, fresh and very well prepared. Great bar, wine, beer and sake lists. Really good desserts. Service is good, servers are friendly, helpful, and never rushed. Winner.

We really loved our hot sake with our sushi - we got some Unagi and also their tempura appetizers were great. We got there early so we missed the karaoke night. Crowded but not overwhelming -- more like busy because the food is good. I recommend booking a reservation ahead of time with open table.
