Sale e Pepe - Marco Beach Ocean Resort Ratings and Reviews
Nice ambiance. Service was very good. The food was Fair to OK. I’d say 3 Star food at 5+ prices. Would not go back. Many other restaurants on the island with better food at half the price. FYI they add 18% gratuity . I’m OK with that but they should tell the customer rather than put it in SMALL print on the menu.
This was our 4th visit to Sale-e-Pepe and it was as great as our 1st! The service is impeccable with all staff willing and able to accommodate. Valentin was our waiter and provided great service and advice. The menu always has some unique entrees and the desserts are worth saving room for. Patio seating is tremendous for sunset dining and easy to request. This is our favorite ‘date night’ spot on Marco. Can’t wait for our next visit!!
This was absolutely perfect. Got there at 5 pm to enjoy Happy Hour. We stayed for a full meal thereafter. Gorgeous outside seating and fabulous views of the gulf. The service and meal were exceptional. It is not inexpensive; however, the value is worth the price.
Bar was lit up very brightly, as if it was closing time, not much ambience with that. Family with many children, being very loud, eating in bar. Bartenders were also talking to one another in loud voices. If you are charging $16 per cocktail plus 20% gratuity, I think you should provide some ambience.
Outdoor dining also had large tables of adults with large tables of children. We asked to be seated in a quieter area, but was told they were getting ready to leave. They were not ready to leave & were there for most of our dinner.
The food served was good, but it should be considering your prices.
I would go back for lunch, at least you have a lovely view. If I ever eat dinner there again it would have to be in the inside dining room, not bar.
Very good and still improving as the new chef gets his act going in the kitchen. Fortunately he in inherited a great front of the house with some seasoned women in key posts. Veal chop is not recommended until they either change the purveyor or the grade to prime of prime as it was tough and unedible on one occasion and very fatty on another. Could be they are merely not checking quality upon delivery very closely.
Pleasant but not perfect.... Service is always superb at Sale e Pepe, and the beachfront view is outstanding. I called ahead because I was concerned about a dress code, and found our casual attire (men in golf shorts) was acceptable outside or at tables near the bar. Valet parking was convenient and the attendant very friendly. The four of us enjoyed a fruity Sicilian white wine, while sharing delicious appetizers of butternut squash risotto and a fresh and tasty Caesar salad. The entrees were not as universally enjoyed. The salmon was quite good. Pasta with porcini mushrooms did not meet the al dente standards of my Italian husband. Our guest thought the sauce had an oddly sweet flavor, and upon tasting it I agreed. My turbot stuffed with rapini with a potato squid ink crust was the most unusual order. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but was disappointed to find it dry and flavorless. While we skipped a dessert order, the server brought us little biscotti and chocolates to end the meal.
5 stars would be excellent; however, there are some tables in dark spots, the fans were turned off and they add an automatic 18% gratuity :-(
If not automatically added they usually get more from me. Now the great stuff....special order of Cacio e Pepe was outstanding! Agnolotti was amazing! The Caprese was original, creative and awesome! The Chocolate Ganache Hazelnut crust dessert was out of this world!!!
We went to Sale e Pepe for the first night we arrived for our honeymoon stay at Marco Ocean Beach Resort. The food was top notch, amazing!!! The most delicious meal we have ever had!!! We highly recommend this restaurant if you wish to experience an elegant atmosphere, fantastic waitstaff, delicious food and the most beautiful view of the Gulf you have ever seen!! And make sure you order the tiramisu for dessert 😍😍😍
Very nice place. The food was good and different but overpriced. The service was over the top. To many people asking us to many times how everything was. Twice they asked us how the food was before we even had a chance to taste it. I didn’t know if I should rank the service as a 5 or a 2. Because they tried so hard I decided to give them a 5 and not a 2.
Fabulous meal with a new chef. This restaurant was closed since Hurricane Irma, and had just reopened 3 days prior. Dinner was fabulous, as was ambience and service was impeccable as well. The chef stopped at our table towards the end of our stay which was delightful. I has eaten here about 15 months prior, and I know why I loved this very unique experience!
A little pricey, but service was exceptional and food was both delicious and different. Very elegant setting. Not your average Italian restaurant, and a menu with interesting and varied choices. The bread basket was to die for! It was an excellent dinner, perfect for a special night out.
Welcome back Sale E Pepe. We have missed you. We dined on their opening night and as usual staff were spot on. New Chef and new menu, can't wait to go back and try another entree. I had the sous vide beef cheeks and you could cut them with a feather. Cocktails are fairly priced and a good size. We love sitting on the patio and watching the sun go down, directly on the beach. The wine offerings are wonderful and the staff is very knowledgeable. One of our top go to restaurnats in SW Florida.
We went to Sale e Pepe for our first anniversary and it was perfect! They had a beautiful table for us with a great view of the water, wished us happy anniversary on arrival, and even brought out prosecco to toast us and gave us a gorgeous dessert. We each had a steak, split the tagliere appetizer, and ordered a bottle of wine-- it was the perfect romantic evening! We couldn't recommend this place more. Ask to sit outside if you can! And go grab a drink at the bar before the sun sets to catch the best view in Marco!
Nice surprise to learn they were offering a 3 course prix-fixe dinner option for $39. It was a great value. We tried the eggplant appetizer, the sea bass, the short rib with saffron ribbon pasta, and the orange, chocolate and guava gelato. From the regular menu we had the tuna tartare appetizer and the Australian lamb chops. Hands down the lamb chops were the favorite at our table. The pasta dish was flavorful and meaty. The fish was light and well presented. The chocolate gelato was just sinfully good. They had an excellent wine list. It was a very enjoyable and tasty birthday dinner. The decor reminded me of a castle. Romantic ambience. The wait staff was very attentive.
I had such high hopes for this dinner, it was recommended to us from a friend that lives in Marco. We went to celebrate my birthday. Although the waitstaff was kind, the food was beautiful but bland. We had a nice bottle of wine and cocktails, a cheese appetizer that could of included amazing Italian cheeses, or their sister domestic counterparts, and instead, it was Parm Reggiano, mozzarella and then the Sotto Cenre which was delicious. Rather than just critic each item we ordered, I would rather suggest, that the Chef taste his dishes prior to plating them. We had the lobster Cavatappi, and Bolognese... our server said they were the most popular. I had to request salt at the table, an Alessi brand salt grinder was put on the table we just bought the same one from Publix. I was embarrassed to even use it, because I didn't want to offend the Chef, but eventually had to. We just thought it was such a lovely setting, outdoors, the magnificent walk to the restaurant with the Italian columns and water -falls lead you to believe this is going to be the most exceptional meal on the Island.. Traditionally Italians pay attention to details.. We paid for details, but didn't receive them. The final thought was a very large happy birthday tray written in chocolate syrup, with 2 very small bite size biscotti, 1 dollup of whip cream and 1 raspberry. BUT it did have a candle.. and that was a wish I made for next time.. Ciao!
We arrived at Sale e Pepe and was seated immediately and handed menus. A server asked about our water preference but no one offered us a mixed drink. About 10 minutes later, our server, Mihaela came over and asked if we wanted a cocktail.Drinks took a long time to arrive. We noticed other tables with a different server receiving much more attention. We ordered the Burrata Stracciatelli which was good and then the Tagliatelle which was mediocre. Since it was our anniversary, the restaurant sent over a plate of biscotti and strawberries in whipped cream, but we had no utensils to eat the strawberries in whipped cream. About 15
minutes passed and our server stopped by to see if we liked the dessert. We had to ask her if we could please have a fork or spoon to eat the strawberries. The hostess came over and we complained and her comment was " I could offer that as a suggestion to management that we start serving this with a utensil to be able to eat it" . The sad part was that she was not kidding. We paid our bill and left very disappointed.
Went for happy hour and loved the vodka martini as large as a fish bowl and it was 2 for one. On the second drink had to switch to the house wine Wente Cab. Very nice. Finished with the early dining menu and had the best eggplant Parm ever. Second course was pasta also excellent. My wife had the bronzino and loved it. We will be back often before the island fills up with seasonal visitors. The staff was very well trained friendly, and attentive. Best restaurant on Marco
