Some friends and I had a birthday dinner, and as always it was the perfect experience. Our server Dean, was awesome. Very friendly, and professional and was able to answer any questions we had. I've been here several times and it's always been a wonderful experience. The food is always perfectly prepared. Ryan's is one of the best in Winston Salem.

We drove one hour to the restaurant in the rains from Hurricane Matthew and it was all well worth the drive and the dining experience. We had the Key West Grouper and the Chilean Sea Bass and we were excellently pleased with the presentation, the proportion and the quality of the food. We will make the 2 hrs round trip again.

In spite of a long standing reservation for a special occasion we were seated at table A1. This table is adjacent to the hostess desk and essentially in a hallway that connects to the main dining areas. We immediately asked the hostess for another of the MANY empty tables. She said they were serving over 400 people and couldnt possibly move us. Huh? What does that have to do with anything. Seat us somewhere else and put the next foursome to come in at that wonderful table.
The wedge salad was good. The waiter was fine. The fillets and prime rib were average for a steakhouse. Unfortunately, the non-stop noise and traffic past our table was completely unacceptable for a dinner in this price range. We won't be back.

We dined here while in town for wake forest's family weekend. My family of 5 enjoyed our time together and our delicious meal!
The kids enjoyed the pretzel bread, my husband and I enjoyed the she crab soup and the streaks were done to perfection!
I am sure that we will have many more dinners here over the next four years!

We travel to Winston-Salem a few times a year to visit doctors at Wake Forest. Each time we visit, we try another restaurant. We have now found our favorite! Fabulous food prepared expertly and served in a friendly efficient manner. The She Crab Soup is to die for! The Steak was SUPERB! We now have something to really look forward to on our next medical excursion.

I have not entertained Ryan's in quiet some time.
Quite frankly, I didn't know what to expect as far as food or ambience
I was pleasantly surprised w/ cuisine and the embodiment of the evening.
Our service was taken to another level when our server responded to request for service in a more expedient manner because of prior commitment and was met with time to spare.
Quite a memorable experience!

My husband and I went to Ryan's to celebrate our birthdays and wedding anniversary (all on the same day), and our experience from the minute we walked in the door until the minute we left was wonderful. The hostess wished us happy birthdays and anniversary immediately. Our server, Daniel, took excellent care of us throughout our whole time at the restaurant (almost 2 hours). Our food was superb, and the price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Then to top it off, after our meal, Daniel brought us a delicious large piece of chocolate cake to share and two glasses of champagne. By far, the best dining experience we've had in a very long time. I can't wait to go back!

Never disappointed with Ryan's. Went there with some friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. Food was great, service was as well. Everyone said there food was perfect and with a large party (6 at our table) that's rare when dining out.

We went for our wedding anniversary and were sat on the upper level next to the kitchen right by the stairs... We could barely concentrate due to the high traffic. The service was slow. The food was mediocre. Is it too much to ask for food to be seasoned? All a steak needs is salt and pepper. They were nice to give us dessert to go since it was our anniversary. This is the second time we've been and I don't think we're going back. When paying $100 for a meal for 2 people, is it too much to ask for the food to be good?

Awesome steak, definitely still lives up to the "best steak in Winston-Salem" nickname. My parents got engaged here back in 1983 and my family has been celebrating special occasions here for years. Highly recommend!

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I will be visiting again very soon. The setting looks like you are in the middle of a forest. The restaurant itself is charming. The staff look and act as if they truly enjoy their work and this is reflected in the quality of the service. Oh, and the food is exquisite, both in appearance and taste.

Asked for a window seat, they did put us in a back corner with just a side view, someone would have been facing a wall!! They moved us to a window that overlooked the brook, which I had asked for. Other than that the food was excellent and waitress very friendly.

Good and steady Ryan's never ceases to make me and those I take there happy. Classic late 70's-1980's speak house with good classic favorites like French Onion Soup, Shrimp Cocktail, wedge salad, etc. There's also lobster tails, crab cakes, you name it..a classic steakhouse. A little pricey if compared to the average family restaurant in the area but for me worth every penny.

Unfortunately, the tables are very close together. Our waitress could bot get to our table due to the large yable of eight that was set up beside us. I that this was a problem in most of the area.
I a steak to be cookex with no pink. Although the outside was burnt it was pink on the inside. Our took so long to return O that it worth the wait to send it back my was done with his food.
I impressed for my first and last visit.

My wife and I both had steaks and they were excellent. They were aged certified angus and came from the midwest where we both grew up and know that they grow the best beef in the county. Service was superb (I was impressed that our server knew the details of all the menu items and their ingredients..some of which were not familiar to me. We had excellent wine and cocktails. We will come back to this restaurant.

We went for my husband's birthday. From the time we arrived, the hostess wished him a happy birthday. Once seated, the waitress wished him a happy birthday. We did not have to wait at all. We had reservations for almost 45 minutes prior to our arrival so we had planned to go to the bar. The hostess went ahead and seated us a table. The service and food was outstanding. I highly recommend this place!
