Rx Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
RX is easily one of my favorite restaurants here. Every dish has been great. I ordered the Bill’s oysters, amazing! My husband and I shared the Ham and pimento starter which is always delicious. I had a yellowfin tuna entree; spinach, carrots, and red grits with a parsley purée and RX hot sauce drizzled on the plate. It was heaven.
My husband ordered the shrimp and grits—outstanding. The grits were hot and super tasty, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Then we finished with two beautiful desserts. My husband’s salted caramel pot de creme was garnished with caramel popcorn that made quite a presentation. He loved it. My apple almond galette was good but not outstanding. An amazing dinner that we both agreed was well worth every penny. A very special night out.
RX is an amazing place. I have the benefit of travelling frequently and visiting restaurants all around the world. One of my favorites is RX. The staff is fantastic and personable. The food is delicious and the drinks are spectacular. Great stuff! Never a disappointment.
My husband and I️ have been fans of Rx since their opening and more recently spent dinners visiting their Pembroke’s location because it was closer, until it closed and we found ourselves driven to Rx for to satisfy our craving for their smoky wings appetizer. We weren’t disappointed. Our server Amanda was wonderful and after we noshed on the wing appetizer and special cocktail “Fall out” which was holiday-in-a-glass fabulousness, we moved onto our entrees. Shrimp and grits for me and the hubby had the fried chicken with hot sauce and honey. Great dining and great service. We will be back soon!!
We were celebrating our anniversary along with our sons. Our server was abrupt, hurried and somewhat rude. He forgot things and when we asked, he seemed put out. Was at times overly cheerful and congratulatory. We would have preferred good, steady and calm service. (No one was waiting for a table!)
We have been patronizing Rx since it’s opening. Menu has not changed and seems unexciting to us now. We would recommend some newer entrees, especially in the fish department. Aldo the cheeses on our cheese plate were excellent, but the accompaniments uninspired, even tasteless. Our clam starter was lukewarm. All in all, a disappointing meal.
We hope things improve since this has been a favorite place!
An excellent dining experience. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. The food was the best we’ve had in Wilmington, true farm to table fresh ingredients served simply but attractively. A real gem. On the pricey side, but worth it. We’ll definitely be back.
This is the second year we have dined here on our Anniversary and we are always pleased with the service and attention we receive. The staff and sommelier are very attentive.
We recommend this venue to our friends any chance we get.
Thank you for a memorable evening.
We have eaten at Rx several times mainly for Sunday brunch. The menu has changed a bit and they could stand for a few more options. They feature pork as a meat entrée and there were no beef dishes. The sweet potatoe soup was good but we were both dissatisfied with our entrees.
RX has become our #1 choice for dinner out. We have tried many restaurants in Wilmington, liked quite a few but RX always rises to the top of the list. This was our first visit for brunch and it was different than others and fabulous. The food has never disappointed - from start to finish.
We really like the location and neighborhood where this restaurant is located. Very inviting former drugstore on the corner with windows to the street. Inside, it was busy but not too crowded. Two of us had eaten here before, and I must admit, I'm not a fan of the eclectic selection of the artwork - - it is a great space but I think it detracts from the ambience somewhat. The food was great. Our server was exceptional. So we'll be back. I would just rethink the décor a little and kick it up a notch or two.
Rx is always a great meal and offers a wide range of selections for everyone. Try several small plates and share. Friendly people who are happy to help you with your meal
Nice wine list and beers with tasty craft cocktails. Parking in back and on the street. Go and enjoy local farm and sea to table goodness. They also create personalized messages on your menus with advanced notice. A gem on the Wilmington NC dining scene.
We arrived at 6:30. Rx was about 1/2 full. I could hear everything a lady two table away was saying but couldn't hear the conversation at my table. As the place filled up the noise level rose accordingly. The soup was outstanding - worth the $8. There was one fish dish on the menu, shrimp and grits. The also was a meat special - pork chops which one member of our party said was excellent. I had duck - just OK. I expected better at Rx. With the noise level high and the menu limited - maybe the service would be good. Wasn't. Took 59 minutes for our meals to arrive. Yes, by then the place was packed. Without coffee and dessert our bill came to $180 for the 3 of us. For that kind of money I expected ambience, excellent food, a wider variety, and good service. Obviously, because it was packed it's someone's type of restaurant. It just isn't mine and my third visit will be my last for a while.
This was our second visit. We were not disappointed. The building itself, it's history, adds much to the overall experience. The food is excellent and very fresh. We appreciate the local farm to table approach. The wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable, warm, with good humor. Never pushy yet attentive. Yes, yes, yes. We will be back and have already talked it up to friends. Thanks for asking.
Phenomenal food and exceptional service. Visited three more upscale restaurants for our anniversary and noted it in each reservation. This was the only restaurant to congratulate us. Not only the hostess, but also our waitress congratulated us. The food itself is simple, but remarkable. Buffaloed pig ears. Never had a pig ear in my life, but loved them at first bite. That was just a taste of a seasonally rotating menu. I won’t go into more detail about every other amazing dish and the impeccable service we received. This place alone is worth making a day (or weekend) trip to Wilmington.
Entertained friends from Raleigh - they were blown away by how awesome RX is!
Intimate setting - Vincent, our server, was very knowledge about the offerings. Cheese board and pork riglettes as apps; entrees for four included faro, chicken, pork and wings. Everybody cleaned their plate! No room for dessert, so next time, we start with that.
Was our first time visiting Rx. We wanted to try it for my wife's birthday dinner. The staff personalized our menus with a birthday greeting for my wife. All the employees were very welcoming and extremely friendly. The cocktail menu was creative and interesting. There were plenty of menu items to choose from. The food was very good. The service was relaxed, efficient and friendly. Overall, a great evening.
The food at RX is probably the highest quality of any restaurant I have been to. There are choices for all tastes and they offer different types of foods. I love that they change the menu daily based on the local ingredients they get. We had appetizer, entree and desert and nothing disappointed us.
