Great Lunch and couldn't be anything wrong with food choice
An amazing experience. We had a very minor issue with the appetizers, (lobster bisque) not being hot enough. But they quickly rectified it and brought out fresh hot dishes. Our server, Brock was on point, and very patient on getting the orders correct within our party. I recommend this restaurant off you want a great meal and a good time.
Wonderful food and service. Staff is very friendly and prompt with service
Wonderful dinner! The lamb chops were excellent! Our server was knowledgeable, cordial, and attentive. My only complaint is that our table was very dark. We needed our phone flashlights to read the menu. Also I had trouble seeing my chips to cut them. We were in the back corner which seemed particularly dark.
The only thing worse than the service (over an hour’s wait) was the manager’s attitude.
Overall, a wonderful evening. We truly enjoyed dining experience with Ruth Chris.
Ruth's Chris was a great night out with friends and family. We added two people at the last minute and they were very accomodating. The only complaint is the difficulty with parking and getting inside the hotel to get to dinner. Traffic was atrocious and the parking was just as bad. We did not let that spoil the night. Our waitress was wonderfully patient and kind and there were no mistakes. We were a party of 12 and everyone walked away with a smile!
Wait wasn’t long as we had a reservation. Waiter was super nice and professional. Appetizers came out quickly but main meal took forever and one of the steaks was over cooked. Side dishes were excellent as well as dessert. No music playing so ambiance was definitely a little off. Waiter’s attitude made up for mishaps and overall was enjoyable.
Our first visit. Not sure it measured up to the hype, but it was quite good. Steak was tender and delicious. The server seemed a bit disinterested. The next night we visited a local spot that provided a more intimate experience. I would choose the small venue over the "name brand" but both were enjoyable.
They were very busy. We had to ask for everything twice, and they didn’t have the menu item I wanted.
Valentines Dinner while in San Antonio for a conference. Of course easy access from the convention center and consistent with other Ruth’s Chris restaurants.
The cuisine at Ruth Chris was beautiful and scrumptious, with much ambiance. Our waiter Nicholas was phenomenal! There was one discrepancy. The message on the Valentine Special menu communicating the price was $89-99 per person was VERY, VERY small and we did NOT notice it whatsoever. We thought that the $99 was for two people. Thus, there was confusion upon payment for the bill. Ethan, the Manager did talk to us, and explained, mentioning the small print, however, in a rather curt manner. I called him over a while later and expressed my displeasure, mixed with compliments regarding the meal. He was apologetic, and stated that he was misunderstood. We returned for brunch throughout our stay. I would say that Ruth Chris should be certain that stipulations about a meal are presented in bold, clear print from now on! Thank you.
Very romantic, perfect for a date night or special occasion. We were pleased with every bite, and the service was outstanding. Thank you.
Amazing place... the food was excellent and the service was great!
Birthday dinner ! It was a great experience! Will return !
We took our nephew to Ruth’s to celebrate his graduation from the Air Force basic training, excellent location on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. Restaurant was excellent and a nice atmosphere. Food and service was superb as expected! The beef filets were awesome, my mouth is watering just thinking back on the meal! Great place to celebrate life’s precious moments with family.
Perfect restaurant and delicious food (steak of course!) for a special occasion. Our waiter/bartender in the bar area was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Great service!
We were very disappointed with our dining experience. We picked Ruth's Chris because of their consistent food quality and service. We were disappointed with both at this location. Would not go back to this location.
Great food, great service. Good location. The only problem is that it gets loud when there are a lot of people in there, making conversation difficult.
Steaks were cooked perfectly. Irene made several great recommendations. Great location at Grand Hyatt at Riverwalk.
The service was very slow the server was rude food was fantastic as always
We had a reservation for 7:15
We arrived earlier, around 6:30 we let the hostess know that we were ready, she told me that I had to wait for my time.
We decide to go to the bar and order some drinks
We got seated at 7:30
Then everything was kind of late
The kitchen was very slow
Great place to eat with customers, they will love it. Our server was a little overloaded which made for slower service than normal. Besides that, it was a good dinner and we would go back for sure.
Enjoyed happy hour menu items: Ruth’s G&T that has a good strength, tasty ahi tuna with a kick in the sauce and delicious crab meat balls.
Not a good experience. Waitress seemed preoccupied.
My daughter took me here to celebrate my 60th birthday. Our waiter was Bruce. We ordered a bottle of wine, he poured and took our orders. The menu was a bit confusing and I attempted to order the Filet WITH the stuffed chicken breast. He nicely informed us that those were two separate items. I then chose the filet with shrimp. He asked my Daughter if she wanted the same, and she said no, she couldn't eat seafood, and ordered the filet with the pepper.
When our steaks arrived at the table, we both were served the filet and shrimp. She informed the young man (not Bruce) After approx. 15 min, Bruce walked past our table and stated "your steak will be right out", and kept walking. After an additional 10-15 min. the young man brought my daughters steak. Bruce never returned to apologize, or to inquire about our food, or to see if we needed anything. It was not busy. We poured our own wine and the young man brought the desserts we had ordered earlier. Still no Bruce.
We finished and sat there for awhile before Bruce walked by and dropped the check off on our table, never said a word and kept walking. He later returned to process the payment, and again, never said a word. Dropped it off and kept walking. We didn't see him again until we were leaving and observed him standing at the far end of the bar area.
There was no reason for horrible service, or lack of, service. An ordering error is not a major mistake and we were good natured. Waiting almost 30 minutes for the correct steak (a 6 oz. filet) was a fairly significant error, but the total rudeness of Bruce destroyed a special occasion dinner. My daughter, a college student, had been so proud to treat me to dinner. I KNOW she felt shortchanged and Bruce did absolutely NOTHING to attempt to salvage what was initially a minor mistake. He parlayed it into a total waste of time and money.
I have enjoyed dining at Ruth Chris in the past, and its a shame that one employee can destroy that.
2nd time here for us. Great service and food. We will be back.
Birthday dinner. I had called ahead to let restaurant know. We were told they would deco table and provide special dessert. Table was not done. Bone in Ribeye over cooked. Waiter did his best to try and get another steak out, however, rest of party was finished with their meal by time corrected steak came out. Awkward. We were not impressed.
Food was OK. Nothing special. Steak served before I had finished salad. Didn't see staff again. Sat for an hour with dirty dishes pushed aside and empty wine glass in front of me (I was reviewing work docs but obviously, at the bar, finished with the meal). I had to signal a waiter to get another glass of wine and more water. Had to ask busboy to send the manager out to get my bill despite the fact that I had stood up, put my coat on, and tapped my card on the bar. I certainly would not recommend.
Food was amazing and we had a great time. The only thing we weren’t happy with is that the fries we ordered for our kids were spicy. We ordered the kids grilled cheese with fries. The fries were too spicy and the kids couldn’t eat them.
My wife and had never been to a Ruth’s Chris before and had a gift card to try it out. We had an early dinner, so the restaurant was not busy at all. Our server, Dimas, was very prompt with everything and a very friendly person overall. The steaks, while expensive, were some of the most tender meat I have ever experienced. Seasoned with only salt, pepper, and butter, they needed no garish steak sauce to improve the flavor at all. The acorn squash bisque was nothing short of enchanting, and the sides of garlic roasted broccolini and wild mushroom couscous both left us wanting more, but alas, we still had dessert to come. The apple crumb cheesecake with vanilla ice cream was the perfect end to a perfect meal. While we can’t afford this for a regular meal, we will happily find a Ruth’s again for a special occasion.
Pedestrian - food was greasy. Service was initially attentive but after our order - our waiter was absent. He did not ask about coffee with dessert and we had to pour our own wine. Sub-par for a supposedly 5 star restaurant. Your sister restaurant in Seattle was amazing - in both food and service.
Superb staff from the very start. William was delightful and helpful with information about the restaurant and even the Riverwalk and downtown San Antonio, as well. Mary was professional and personable throughout the evening. The food was exceptional, and the portions were just right. Thank you for a memorable occasion.
The food was very good. The service was however not. The waitress and support staff provided much less than the level of service I have experienced at Ruth's Chris restaurants in other states.
Excellent bone in filet and masterful sides - roasted Brussel sprouts and asparagus . The steak was a little pricey for its size but was still amazing.
We pre gamed the Alamo bowl here at Ruth Chris and had a wonderful experience food and service were excellent.
My son's NY strip was too tough to enjoy despite being cooked medium rare. He barely ate any. The creme brulee was awful no vanilla bean and this terrible thick granulated crust. I ordered a Belvedere martini extra dirty With extra olives twice and both times it came back without any olive juice and only 2 olives. I was excited to take my son for the first time who loves steak and the two main things I wanted him to try the steak and Créme brulee were terrible. Well my steak was good but I got a filet. Very disappointing. I've been to many other locations and never had an experience like this.
Glasses were breaking all around us. Noise level awful. Waiter got several orders wrong. Did not make eye contact with guests. Did not acknowledge that she understood the order. Terrible Xmas dinner with family. So disappointed.
I had the worst experience here than any other Ruth Chris. Always have had wonderful service and food in all others I have visited. Service was absolutely terrible, even after I notified the manager. My advice is to stay away from this one.
