Rundle Lounge - Afternoon Tea - Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time at the Banff Springs hotel: the room, the view, the service - all of it was amazing. Sad that they no longer bring around the tea cart like I had read in previous reviews, that would have been a real treat. Our server was very attentive and courteous which enhanced the experience. You can't beat the view, that was the icing on the cake.
Took 25 minutes after being seated to being spoken to by a server and I had to call them over. I specified 1 was to be vegetarian it came out all meat so it had to go back to the kitchen and although mentioned on the reservation it was not even mentioned by the server that we were celebrating a birthday. I understand I was on destinations but still no excuse for this service
Wanted to impress my girlfriend from New York with the best Canada has to offer - and the Banff Fairmont's high tea did the trick. The Rundle Lounge offers the perfect blend of Canadian history, Rocky Mountain majesty, and Fairmont fanciness. The tea service was a mix between traditional British thoroughfare of scones and tea sandwiches, with local highlights such as duck, saskatoon berry, and bison.
We went for the last seating of the day and were sat by the window overlooking the mountains. The last group left shortly after we arrived and we had the whole space to ourselves. Service was prompt, food and tea were delicious, and all for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this place.
It was a dream to take my daughter to an Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont. I truly have dreamt of taking her to experience what it would feel like to have a small taste of royalty and treat her like a princess. We were overwhelmed by the beautiful atmosphere, the snow covered Mountain View, the perfect tea and delicate tier of light sandwiches and deserts. It was a dream come true for a mom to watch her daughter take it all in. Absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience! Thankyou Rundle!
The only reason why i didnt give 5 stars is because the hostesses sucked. They were never there. They would great someone then dissapear for 10 minutes. Even though we had reservations our table wasnt ready. We had to wait for 15 minutes until they got organized. This happened to the people ahead of us as well.
The actual experience was aweaome. Our waiter was great and very knowledgeable. Tea and snacks were great. I didnt want it to end!
I would recommend the High Tea at the Banff Springs to everyone! It was so much fun with delicious sandwiches and mini desserts . There was plenty to eat, and to top it off a wrapped cookie treat to take home. The service was fantastic. They will accommodate any dietary restrictions, like gluten intolerance etc.. just give them a heads up. Most of all, you cannot beat the view,
Where else can you sit at the sight line of the magnificent Rocky Mountains, with a view of Rundle, Tunnel, and Cascade Mountain , the most photographed Mountain in the world!
The afternoon tea was average. For the cost $50/person it should have been #1-organic and all local #2- pretty spectacular food #3-authentic afternoon tea #4- presentation eg.Dainty English bone china tea service and cutlery(existing cups looked like coffee cups)napkins and table lay out.I found the table uninspiring and poorly set.No flowers or attractive tea service.Silverware non existant. No lace table cloth. When you go to tea it should be feminine and almost whimsical and the table should be a backdrop for excellent conversations and gossip as this is what afternoon tea is truly supposed to be about.I guess thats the apt words to describe the experience is BLAH and BLAND.
We had to wait 10 minutes for our reservation that we booked way ahead of time even though the table was ready, and I booked the afternoon tea which was supposed to be $49 a person and instead we got the Christmas tea and we're charged $65/person.
However the food was really good and it was a fun experience with a beautiful view but when people pay good money to dine there, the staff should be a it more professional.
Having high tea in the Rundle Lounge was on my bucket list. My sisters and I went there for my birthday lunch. It was beautiful. The food and the tea were amazing. The table was set beautifully. The views were outstanding. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants a nice relaxing place to unwind and enjoy yourself.
Megan provided fantastic service as we overlooked the golf course and admired the view of the mountains, the light changing every few minutes for a new take on a familiar view. The tea was delicious, the food presented wonderfully, and the experience completely and utterly relaxing. We cannot wait to return!
Was disappointed that I made res in advance and still waited 45 mins for food. Was told kitchen was behind, there were other's that came in after us and were served before we were.
Not happy that we had res and not a walk in that they were served before us. Won't do this again.
I went with my mom for her 70th birthday and we loved it. The food was very filling and I loved that we could take what we couldn't finish home. They could make a few improvements though. It would be nice if they had all the selections. I loved the scones and sandwiches. I liked that there was a variety of deserts, but would prefer different deserts than what was served. The view was amazing and such a beautiful hotel. I would recommend this to friends and look forward to trying this again.
