The most delicious gnocchi I have ever experienced: light, fluffy, authentic. The lamb chops were exquisite: perfect flavor and tenderness, plus the meal comes with a hearty serving. The service was timely and polite. This is the best Italian restaurant in Carmel. We will definitely go back.

Wonderful creative food and presentation, but not over the top like Emeril. Linguine with mussels was actually loaded with mussels (as promised by our waitress, Emily)...at least one with every bite...unusual for such a dish at other restaurants...as in never. Mussels were plump and tasty; as good as the ones we had on Prince Edward Island. Loved the food and service. Great experience. A bit pricey, but worth it.

For the most part, the reviews are an accurate reflection of Roma. We had our first visit to Roma on Saturday 10/29/16. The restaurant is well appointed with an Italian grandmother's home decor. Our hostess and server were both great. I ordered a salad and the bolognese, both were excellent. The pappardelle pasta was perfectly cooked and the bolognese sauce while not the best that I've tasted was certainly well prepared. The wine we ordered - was superb Piedmont region of Italy so not widely popular but excellent. It had a healthy markup on price - which is to be expected but 3X is a little healthy but the wine was at least something that was not as easy to get in Indiana. My wife ordered the pasta special but asked if she could have shrimp on the side. Our server who was very good let us know that the chef would refuse because in a traditional Italian meal the pasta course is not served with meat. I am not sure if that is true or not but it certainly made the reviews on the unaccommodating chef more believable. My wife did enjoy the pasta. We had the Tiramisu for dessert - very good. Overall - great food, great service but a little noisy and an unaccommodating chef. I am not sure if we would revisit.

Such a great find. It's tucked away at the end of a strip mall type place -- don't let that keep you from going. The food is amazing -- the chef comes out to make sure you're happy with your food. The wait staff is friendly and very attentive. Ambiance is great -- lights down lower and nice low-volume music playing.
I've been here twice with my wife and it's quickly moved up toward the top of our favorite places to eat in the area.

The restaurant itself was very nice, neat with a friendly atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and helpful with the menu.
Food was good, but prices very high for what you get. Entrees did not come with salad, very limited soft drink menu and typical Italian food items were not on the menu.
The cost was too much for the experience.

Always a great dinner at Roma. Signor Romani works hard to give you authentic Italian cuisine. The calamari appetizer is delicious, as are the bacon-wrapped prunes. Freshly-made pasta, yummy entrees, fabulous tiramisu...and terrific service. No wonder we keep going back!

This was our first time here and we enjoyed it. The chef visited our table to get a specific food request from our 13 yr old daughter and accommodated her with the meal she was looking for not offered on the menu. We will be back.

We had a delightful pre-theatre dinner here. The pork chop special (huge pork chop stuffed with spinach and cheese) was especially delicious; the wine list wasn't huge but had a nice selection at reasonable prices. Our server was forthright and attentive. We'll be back.

The pastas were quite good and not the standard hum drum sauces. The service was friendly and efficient . The only negative is the insane noise level. My husband and I agreed that we would never come here with anyone else because there would be no point. We could not have a conversation. How about a little acoustic tile on the ceiling?

The food is always fresh (homemade pasta) and delicious. The quality of food is outstanding without being pretentious or overdone. The fig appetizer is excellent as are all the pasta dishes. The staff know the food well and make appropriate recommendations.

A really lovely meal. The lamb was beyond description....and that comes from someone in our party who knows good lamb. I so enjoyed the clams and zucchini. All the pastas are homemade and absolutely worth every calorie! The bolognese sauce was yummy too. Service was excellent, as it always has been before.

A friend and I tried Roma Ristorante for the first time. Set in a little strip mall, one doesn't assume that it will be very good, but we were very surprised and pleased. The server was friendly and efficient, and highly recommended their homemade pasta. The pasta with seafood and and pesto was delicious, and my friend thought his salmon was equally good. We will definitely go back!

Roma is our favorite Italian restaurant in our area. The food is always excellent no matter what we order. We like the small, quaint atmosphere and that we are starting to know the staff well because we visit regularly. We highly recommend Ristorante Roma.

From fresh fish to fresh handmade pasta to homemade gelato and cannolis - the quality of the food is amazing! The location, decor, and acoustics make this more of a fun casual place than a romantic date night setting.

It was so loud that you couldn't hear your own friends at your own table. The food was just average and definitely not worth the price. Would I go back? No. There are too many really reasonable and great places to go back to someplace that is mediocre and pricey on top of it. The four of us were unimpressed.
