What a lovely spot, over the water in DUMBO looking at lower Manhattan, and including the Statue of Liberty! We went for Sunday brunch, and could not have been more pleased. The service was old-fashioned but not stuffy or intrusive, and superb. The food was excellent, including our Wagyu steak tartare, scallops cerviche, Lobster and crabmeat dish and branzino. Cannot recommend too highly.

Beautiful ambiance with views of the river and Brooklyn bridge and even Statue of liberty.
Service was excellent.
Cocktails - French 77 was exotic and one of the best I have had.
Food on the other hand was good but not great.
Would definitely recommend for a special evening out

It is a very special place -we can't imagine a trip to NYC and not going - although it is an expensive treat!!

one of the best meals in a long time....
it seemed that truly elegant dining--with discreet, attentive, careful, knowledgeable service people, a beautiful ambiance, and excellent food--had disappeared along with the charles masson era at la grenouille, but it still lives in brooklyn heights at the river cafe. a very nice surprise, and a very special treat. (only an occasional one, however; be aware that in the evening one has a choice only of a $125 prix fixe or an even more expensive tasting menu. so with wine and coffee, a meal is north of $150pp.)
if the tariff isn't a disincentive, this is a nice meal-stop before the nearest neighborhood distraction--st. ann's warehouse theater. the river cafe was considerate enough to allow us to leave our car at the restaurant while we went to the theater--a real boon in a hard-to-park-in area.
except for the shock of the prix fixe (i shd have checked...but who does prix fixe anymore anyway?), the experience cd hardly have been better....

Wonderful venue for a last night in NYC. Server was delightful girl trying to get a part in a show. Food was worth the price just for the presentation. Will be back. Make sure you can help your Uber driver find it.

Went for anniversary date night. Food is not worth the cost at all and felt like they were just trying to upsell us. Have had much better meals for less. View isn't good unless you are seated right by the window (which is cold). Can't hear piano unless you're right next to it. Ambiance is stuffy, i.e. asked someone to take a picture and were told they could do it in 5-10 minutes. Wouldn't recommend.
