Excellent service and absolutely delicious breakfast. Congratulated us on our honeymoon with pink grapefruit martini cocktails and hand made chocolates too. The best view have ever seen of the NY skyline. A must do.

My daughter and I visited the River Café for breakfast and it was the best meal we had during our 5 day stay in New York. I would highly recommend this to everyone. I am a seasoned traveller with work and so have eaten in many nice restaurants across the globe however this is one of the most memorable- definitely worthy of several Michelin stars.

I have been to the River Cafe several times for special occasions. It has never disappointed, offering up superior food with wonderful, attentive service. This restaurant has many famous patrons, but the staff is remarkable in that it manages to make everyone dining there feel special. I recommend it to everyone seeking a special, unforgettable dining experience in New York.

Beautiful spot with views to the city! A masterpiece of floral design creating a garden of beauty. The service and food were outstanding! I ate a late breakfast here after walking over the Brooklyn Bridge! Will definitely return.

We came across this little gem first in 2003 whilst visiting NY for my wife's birthday and promised to visit again when we returned to NY ever again.
We booked up in advance and enjoyed it just as much with excellent service, great food and stunning views over the Hudson, Manhatten skyline and Brooklyn Bridge!
A bit pricey, but worth it.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary on a Sunday evening. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and courteous, and the service and food were beyond excellent, and of course you couldn't beat the view. We only wished that the noise level was less than it was. We often wonder whatever happened to the quiet, intimate romantic dinner.

River Cafe's magic endures. One of the most beautiful spots--even without the amazing view of lower Manhattan. As someone who is gluten intolerant, I greatly appreciated the accommodations of the chef. Also noteworthy are the fabulous desserts--all gluten free. At brunch recently we enjoyed perfectly prepared pork belly served with poached duck egg (and gluten-free toast!) The salmon entree was cooked to medium and beautifully presented in a chard wrap (looked very much like a sushi roll). The mushroom consomme was fragrant and full of umami flavors. We are already planning our next visit. Thank you River Cafe.

Spectacularly wonderful springs to mind. I've been twice now during my annual jaunts to NYC, once for lunch and the second dinner.
The atmospheres are totally different - by day the views of Manhattan are stunning, the front gardens are lush with foliage and flowers - by night the gardens are magical with fairy lights and lanterns - and the view is spectacular, particularly if you have a window/window facing table. The staff are like no other - attentive, personable and make you feel special. . Even when selecting the cheapest wine on the menu the waiter congratulated my choice (which made me worry that I'd selected the wrong one)!
The venue itself is intimate and romantic, but also very comfortable if dining with a friend. The floral displays both in reception and on the tables are beautiful, crisp white table clothes and pure elegance (but not pretentious). There is a set menu and while it is rather pricey if you like excellent, good quality and beautifully presented food then it is value for money.
We had cocktail each, a bottle of white and the set menu and it came to $400 - so it's ideal for special occasions - like Fridays

We felt special or 'chosen' to be on this hystoric place, it breathes the wind of NYC, even of her immigrants. And 'our' former settlement.
Go on like this! we will send you more guests...

We loved the atmosphere in River Cafe and the splendid look on the Manhattan SkyLine. The decoration and flower arrangement in the restaurant was amazing, the service was outstanding. The food was good but largely overpriced. It was OK because we knew we were not paying for the food but for the view.

The River Cafe was recommended by a friend of my Mum's and we went there with a friend of mine for breakfast. We chose breakfast because the evening menu was quite restrictive - it was too pricey for my friend and my Mum could never manage 6 courses - if there was a more flexible option then we would have come for dinner but breakfast (more like brunch because it was 11ish) was absolutely perfect. The staff came across as very friendly, and were having jokes with us, which made the experience really enjoyable. The food was very good quality and a good size as we are from Europe and can't usually manage the large US portions. We also found the presentation and ambiance to be really professional and high quality but at the same time not pretentious, which I know is hard to manage so great work on this! I'd definitely go there again and I would recommend it to friends. It's also the first time that I've used open table since reading about it in Matchmakers - great service which I would also use again. Overall the whole experience from booking to leaving the restaurant was very pleasurable, thank you for all your hard work.
