Reds Midtown Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Great Value for Food and Excellent Service
Our party of 4 dined at Reds on a Sunday evening and we all loved the dishes we ordered. We started with the Ahi Tuna Tostadas and the Calamari Fritti. The Ahi Tuna Tostadas were creatively presented and fresh. Three of our party ordered the Prime Rib and found it delicious. They especially liked that it came with Yorkshire Pudding, Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes which could be substituted with Fries. I ordered the Ravioli and Garlic Shrimp and it was creatively presented and delicious. Our server, Michael, was friendly, attentive and professional which enhanced our dining experience. Reds also has a Prix Fixe Menu (3 Courses for $35) as well as a Sharing Menu. Whether you try Reds Midtown for lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed. Thanks for another great dining experience.
We came for a late New Year’s Eve dinner, we had the shareable New York steak with 3 sides. Food was amazing, service was great and we really enjoyed the decor and ambiance. We were also really impressed with the create your own gin and tonic menu. Can’t wait to come back again!
Three of my friends and I came for a New Year's Eve dinner. The prix fixe was reasonably priced and they were accommodating of the vegetarians in our group. The food was very good and served quickly. Drinks are great too. Only down side is that it's a very noisy restaurant.
New Year's Eve dinner for four booked in advance. Arrived and watched the hostess seat 3 walk-ins without a reservation right at the front of the restaurant with a great view. We were brought to the VERY BACK of the restaurant in the corner. Not impressed. Downhill from there.
Waiter was not very accommodating. Any of the cocktails we ordered were "unavailable" and we could choose from the cocktail list. Honestly, what bar doesn't have orange juice for a vodka and OJ?
The food was probably the only redeeming part of the evening. Ate off the prix fixe menu and choices were decent. Will not be returning to this restaurant and I will not recommend it to my friends and colleagues in the area.
The table we were first seated at was right beside the front door. Not at all what I expected. I asked for another table, but there only tables next to where we were first seated. I little better but not great. A choice of tables on your booking site in future where be preferred.
Ordered from the tasting menu. Yorkies (appetizers) were good. Chicken carbonara (main) was meh - pasta was hard, chicken was dry, but the sauce was tasty. Chocolate chess pie (dessert) was inedible - the "pie" was super hard and I could barely bite into it. Service was a bit slow so it was a bit of a wait. Nice atmosphere and drinks, but the food ranges from mediocre to average.
Our waitress was so nice, and helpful too. I liked her a lot but I feel so bad because I can't remember her name! Well, in case someone from Red's Midtown is reading this, our waitress served us Friday evening between 5-7pm, she was a young lady in her 20s with long, light brown hair...she was great! Also, I really loved the food. 3/4 of us at our table ordered ribs and we all loved them so much. Anyway I'll definitely be back! Hopefully soon because I loved it. I'm thinking of returning for my birthday. Keep up the great work! Cheers.
Food and atmosphere were good, and our server Brad was excellent. The place was lively and on the loud side, but my friends and I had no trouble conversing without raising our voices (we were at a corner table, which may have helped). If you're in the neighbourhood, it's worth a visit.
I love Reds. I have been here many times and the food and service is usually great. This time was a disaster. Our server never showed up, and his assistant and the manager had to serve us. The food was cold and mediocre. We will try again, but I hope the owner takes notice that this should not become the norm.
Group went for burgers. We were all more than satisfied with their burger. Freshly ground and cooked perfect.
Unfortunately they had run out of certain beer on tap. Also ran out of Yorkshire pudding.
Server was on the slow side. At the end of the night she told us they just ran out of burgers.
Would go again for burgers.
We had a wonderful and helpful server and attentive wait staff. It has a fun, yet classy, atmosphere with windows overlooking the sidewalk. There are also tables outside next to the sidewalk. The food was delicious and the parmesan fries amazing. They have an extensive wine list and wonderful cocktails. The Amaro Lemonade cocktail was delicious and addictive. I will definitely go back.
Horrible waitress. Service otherwise was good. Didn't like it that they seated us upstairs when downstairs was more alive and plenty of open seats. Otherwise it was OK. If the waitress was more friendly and nicer then sitting upstairs would've made it btr. Overall it wasn't a good experience at this reds. Too bad. I was looking forward it!
Food is always good, albeit slightly too expensive. Service is great - with exception of checking in at the host stand. It is ALWAYS an ordeal. Host is typically on the phone, always has to click through way too many screens on the computer and the entire check-in process (regardless of whether I have a reservation or not) always just feels to complicated. I very often end up sitting down having just rolled my eyes at how overly-complicated it is. Your job in the restaurant industry is to make everything look effortless. Your bartenders and servers seem to be able to to do that, so why is it so hard to just get seated??
Came for Summerlicious... decent value but food was just average, nothing to write home about. I had higher expectations, and was hoping for slightly better quality than Jack Astors and other chains they own. It wasn't a bad experience, I was just hoping for more.
