We have been to Red Hook Grill several times and we come back for the food and friendly staff. The cocktails are inventive and the Caribbean inspired menu is always inviting.
Really enjoyed our first visit! Service was great, Red Hook Salad was excellent, Jambalaya was fantastic!
Red Hook grill was a great find! We truly enjoyed our delicious food and the service was excellent even though they were busy and one person was handling a lot of the dining room. She was friendly and efficient, and gave good suggestions. Our friend had the Vegan Sloppy Joe, which he said was delicious. Hubby and I had Mango Chicken and Mac and Cheese, both of which were very tasty. And I'm picky about Mac and Cheese but that was some of the best Mac and Cheese outside of my homemade version! Portions were generous and prices extremely reasonable. We will definitely go back!
Service was personable, and timely.
Restaurant is cozy, but can have an energetic vibe to it.
Food is perfectly priced for its value and sooooo tasty!
My wife and I love this place. Sean and Kathy (owners) are great people and mean to please. Always crowded - suggest reservations.
This is a nice, quiet little restaurant! They also have a nice selection of vegetarian and vegan options as well. We went to celebrate a birthday and will definitely go back!
We went for an early dinner after arriving from the airport. I eat vegan and the Red Hook has several good selections using ingredients that are locally sourced and crafted on site. I had the bean burger and it came with avocado, salsa and lettuce on a nice bun. One of the better bean burgers I have had. It also came with home fried potatoes that also had onion, and peppers and was delicious. Service was great and prices more than reasonable. Since I had a wine on the flight we did not order a drink but it had a nice cocktail and wine list at reasonable prices too. We will be back.
First time visitors. Everything was top notch. We felt like family.
Our second time there, just as good as the first. Great service, nice ambiance, owners are engaged the whole time. Can’t beat this place for the money or quality. Will be back for sure!
Always a pleasure to dine here; fantastic food and wonderful service!!
Perfect Valentine’s dinner for two. Great food and service. Good drinks. Good atmosphere.
Saw advertisement on the internet and wanted to try. Very pleasant setting with pictures from St. Thomas which we have visited twice. Ample portions for the money. Very good tasting food. Plan to go back.
This was our second Valentine's date at the restaurant. The food was just as great as we remembered we will be making the trip again next year, if not before.
My wife Sherrie and I had a great meal at the Red Hook. The owners were fantastic.
Have been to the Red Hook Grille many times. The food and service are always excellent. Another thing I like is that it doesn't get too loud, which is unusual for some of the local, trendy restaurants.
The food was great, the service was friendly. Great little restaurant gem
Great Gumbo. Great value. Excellent service
The menu has offerings for everybody. Original Marconi and Cheese to great Vegan items to some of the best Caribbean style food in Columbus. Services is first rate, prices are a great value. Try it once and you will be back for more.
Fantastic food and ambiance. Parking can be a challenge, since there are only a few spots in a very small lot.
The food is homemade and absolutely worth a visit.
Fantastic small cafe you might not even notice driving by, but stopping in is a great idea. Unique menu items that you don’t have to be a foodie to enjoy and that are well prepared, and excellent service by people who genuinely seem to care about their cafe and their customers. Check out the menu online and see if you don’t want to give it a try.
The ambiance was comfortable. Wait staff was welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. The food was wonderful, except for the chicken in the mango chicken was very dry, overdone. We will be back.
We have eaten here before and the food is good. Was disappointed in the fact that we were celebrating our 49th anniversary and mentioned it when I made the reservation but nothing was said to us.
Went for the vegan options, pleasantly surprised with the options. Vegan and non vegan multiple interesting choices. Underwhelming atmosphere more than made up by food and beverage quality. Met both owners, very accommodating!
We are going back next week!
We went to Red Hook for a ladies luncheon and were very pleased with the food and the service. The meals are fresh and the ingredients are top quality. Much nicer than a chain restaurant. Will definitely return.
Had out office Chistmas party there. Wanted something different than the usual and not to expensive. Island food that reminded me of my visits there even though it was below zero here. Good rum drinks according to the ladies, "pain killers" were good. Red stripe was good and cold too. Served 8 of us in a nice island time manner even though we got there late from the TSO concert. Plantain starters, both jerk and sweet were good. Special of the night was in a pineapple, with shrimp and pork. Very colorful and tasty. Tuna looked great and sandwiches were good. Mango chicken was flavorful as well. Would recommend to get your island fix.
We've now been to the Red Hook Grill twice. It is very quickly becoming our new favorite restaurant. Everyone we've been there with, and us, rave about the food. My mother-in-law flat out said that the burger she had there was the best burger she ever had.
I had the jambalaya on my first visit and the tilapia stuffed with crab my second. Both were excellent. I'm looking forward to my next visit to face the dilemma of whether to repeat one of my first two great choices or try something new.
ps. Both times we have had the smoked white fish appetizer. This we are definitely repeating on our next visit.
We visit Red Hook about once every other month for its unique Caribbean-themed menu and excellent food. It was a bit noisy this evening as a there was a group of eight having a particularly good time. Also a new bartender practicing - my wife had to send her drink back. Still, all in all a good visit. We will be back.
Not our first visit to Red Hook - great food, key lime pie is outstanding, service is excellent! We have never had a meal that wasn't great - from appetizers to desert - everything is great!
The food was great and the service excellent. It doesn't have the ambiance one might hope for because of the physical location, but that is fine by me. Just give me good food and service and I will keep coming back!
Wonderful place. Good food. We went before the theater. Fast service. We will return
Small place - reservations are a good idea. The owner used to live on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, and Red Hook is a community on St. Thomas. The restaurant has food that reminds you of what you might have enjoyed in the Virgin Islands, and pictures on the wall to help. Good variety on a fairly small menu. My wife and I had a hard time choosing among the offerings. I had crab stuffed fish. Small kitchen, cooked to order. Enjoyed it and the sides. Ample servings so we had to settle with splitting desert. Definitely plan to visit again.
This was our second try and again it was not good! For us it is two strikes and your out!
Always fantastic when we go to red hook grill, from service to the food.
I had not been to Red Hook for a few years and my husband had never been. Frankly, I'd forgotten about it. When a Groupon came through for it, I remembered that I enjoyed my meals there and decided to give it another try. We are glad we did! Red Hook serves Caribbean food in a nice setting with helpful staff. We were curious about the Caribbean bean soup and our waitress provided us a generous sample portion. I had gumbo, which was outstanding. We shared the Caribbean spiced plantains as an appetizer - excellent. My husband is still raving about his crab-stuffed tilapia. Unfortunately, we were too full to try their housemade desserts (key lime pie). The location of Red Hook is unusual as it's tucked within more industrial types of business. But don't let that scare you off. It's definitely a hidden gem.
First time visitors & we both left commenting on what a pleasant surprise it was. Will definitely return!
The food was amazing!!! We got the vegan potato skins !!! They were so delicious!!! The outside was crispy and crunchy and perfect!!! The inside was soft and so yummy!!! So fantastic!!! Service was absolutely incredible. They were so friendly and very attentive. They boxed up all our extras and even gave us to go cups for our water!!!
Kathy could not have been any friendlier. We will be going back
Service was excellent, good food and good value, we will be back!
We both enjoyed our meals and everything was prepared to our liking. The Chicken was tender and hot. The veggies were done and not over cooked. A Comfortable and easy place to enjoy a meal. The dining room is very comfortable but needs more lighting. Too dark.
