About Red Fish Grill
Remember when Matt Dillon was eavesdropping on Cameron Diaz in the movie "There's Something About Mary"? They were at Red Fish Grill. And what a location! Whether dining outside under the Palms at the edge of Biscayne Bay or in the historic coral stone dining room, this restaurant is like nowhere else. It's a slice of Florida that disappeared long ago in most parts of Miami. But it's a lot more than atmosphere that brings in the locals and notables. The menu is dedicated to fresh local seafood, cooked with a gourmet twist, sometimes Caribbean... sometimes Asian. Please visit our website for further details.

Red Fish Grill Ratings and Reviews

Red Fish's view did not disappoint. The venue-gorgeous. The service was fine, light breeze, soft lighting outside. Only drawback is that we went during a king tide-high tide. The parking lot was quite flooded when we arrived and more so when we finished dining. I would recommend that they inform diners beforehand where best to park (highest ground possible), then have a shuttle to take them to their cars (an employee could do that-it wasn't that busy on a Thursday night) so they avoid wading through foot deep water. They kindly offered plastic trash bags to save my husbands shoes, but the bags ripped as he had quite a trek. Otherwise-excellent food-definitely I would go again and would recommend it.

This was our fourth visit. The first three times were very good, but this time it was bad from the start. We ordered a calimari to start, but we were told they were sold out even though the restarurant had only been open for an hour. I found that odd so I asked the manager who was a little more forthcoming about what happened (delivery issues). The bread they brought out was cold and hard. For our main course, we had to send one plate back, because it was just too raw to eat (requested well done from the start), and the other plate was just bland and tasteless. I ate it, but I really didn't like it. How can you make a tasteless shrimp scampi?! No salt, no seasoning on it at all, and I very rarely need to add salt to my food to begin with. The server was just okay. Not very attentive, not helpful at all. Just a mediocre dinner overall this time. We'll be taking a break for a while, if we go back....

First time at this restaurant. The food and service were fantastic. My wife had the Tuna and I had the Pork Chop. Both plates were tasteful and well balanced. The location could not get any better with the ocean and downtown Miami as a backdrop. I would recommend this place for any type of occasion.

This is the place we take everyone who comes to visit. The food is fabulous, the service impeccable and the views unmatchable in Miami. Situated in a state park on the bay, it is lively and yet intimate at the same time. The seafood is fresh and they have plenty of options for those who don't eat seafood too. I always try the specials but my husband loves their shrimp scampi.

The food was excellent. The indoor space is narrow and lined in coral rock so there is a party of 12 across from you with several people that don't use their indoor voice, normal conversion is a challenge. I would recommend that if you see large party inside you choose to eat outside.

That was my first time a Red Fish Grill and was a very nice one. The plase is awesome for a date or business dinner, the view is fantastic, the food was delicious and the service very professional and knowledgeable. I definitely will recommend this place to anyone.

Disappointed, soup was lukewarm, the snapper and the grouper from a Miami Spice menu completely tasteless. The ceviche was good and so was the key lime pie. A bit loud, we sat inside near the bar/kitchen pass through window, lots of foot traffic for the patrons inside and outside. Dinner was rushed, as if food was pre-cooked and just microwaved warm. Not going back

I'm sad to say that but the ceviche was the worst one in our life, the calamari was no crispy, the marinara sauce like regular ketchup and the grouper was watery. The service was great and the place spectacular.

I always enjoy the Red Fish. The food is usually very good and healthy. This time it was off a little. But, that's unusual. The Ambiance is always excellent. Only criticism, no bar. And seem to close earlier than most places in Miami. Especially for a Friday night.

Although it is not around the corner...unless you live in Old Cutler, the view of the bay is gorgeous and worth the drive. The food was delicious and proportioned. Service was excellent and selection of wine list was decent. Would definitely return to the restaurant.

We chose the "Miami Spice" menu and got to taste several different dishes, all of which were excellent. The ceviche had a sweet touch, which sets it apart from the usual citrus focus. I had a dish the chef was trying out -- parmesan-crusted black grouper -- and it was excellent. They had a kid's menus but my son had half-order of mussels and really liked them. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The setting is hard to beat in the middle of Matheson Hammock Park.

Typically this restaurant has amazing food on their regular menu. However, the Miami Spice menu compared to their regular menu was not very good. We understood that the quality would not be the same, but still we expected it to be decent which is not alot to ask. My wife and I ordered the Grouper and the Porkchop dish and unfortunately both of the plates were not very and the meats were over cooked beyond well done. Additionally, the desserts were also small and they did not taste the same as the last time we visited this venue. Final thought is, I would go there any other day and recommend ordering from the regular menu, but I do not recommend dinning there for Miami Spice.

My first visit to this legendary Dade County spot. Matheson Hammock is awesome all on its own. The restaurant has outstanding local seafood (tuna tartare; crab and corn chowder; fresh red snapper); a quiet atmosphere (we sat indoors); and friendly, knowledgeable, unintrusive staff. Every bit as romantic as promised. I would go back in a second.
