The Loft at Traders Point Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was very crowded as it was Saturday of Memorial day Weekend and there was a large Yoga event going on at the same time. Parking was a little confusing but it all worked out. We had a nice table on the screened in porch as requested. Gabby was our server. We had some confusion as to what bread was gluten free and what was not and a member of our party ate the non gluten free bread and got sick. Also we ordered a bottle of Kombucha which was forgotten but it was on our bill. The hostess gave us her apologies and the meal for the sick person was removed as well as the Kombucha. We will return but it is our impression that the the servers appeared somewhat overwhelmed with the crowd.
Girlfriends dinner meet up on a Tuesday night, sat on the porch. Discount bottle of wine very welcome. Waiter very attentive, almost too much. Two of us had the 6-oz grass-fed ribeye, was prepared well but quite ordinary and not very flavorful. Accompanying potatoes and asparagus very good. The Camembert appetizer as suggested by the server was excellent. One friend not hungry hungry had the greens side and bread . Strawberry rhubarb crumble was good just a little overly sweet and friend enjoyed the Blackberry ice cream. Support staff to the server was excellent. Food was hot and presented nicely. Server was knowledgeable of food source and nice to have options offered of raw sugar and stevia for iced tea. Overall a very nice evening, bit pricey $160 with $40 tip, so would consider more for a special occasion.
The food was great. The atmosphere what you'd expect for a farm to table country / barn location. $40 for an"organic steak" was WAY overpriced. Trust me, I grew up on a farm and raised beef cows. Overall, I had a wonderful meal. But our bill for $ 250 for 4 people without wine was a bit ridiculous.
Family of four enjoyed a nice brunch on Mother's Day. The food, service and general ambiance were great. Only issue is that we were seated outside on a very warm day and it was crowded with little air movement. Not sure what they could do about this with the warm temps and crowded dining area but it did detract slightly from our dining experience. We will come back but will request inside seating during the warm weather.
We love The Loft! On Mother's Day, our service could have been better. We had to ask the hostess for our waitress after waiting for 20 minutes. The manager came by and offered free ice cream, so we allowed our kids to order some, only to be charged for it anyway. We love the food, that it's organic/pasture raised/local. We hope this was a one-time glitch!
I will not be recommending this restaurant. It was way overpriced. I had the haddock which tasted very good but the potatoes served underneath were burnt and I had to use a knife to cut them. Our reservation was at 6:45 on a Friday and we did not get our food until after 8:00. We declined to pay the $4 charge for bread and butter so we were very hungry by the time the food arrived. To their credit, they did give my friend a free scoop of ice cream for her birthday. However, by 12:30 a.m., I was sick in a way that I have not been sick since I had chemo. I won't be going back for dinner.
We celebrated our 5yr. old granddaughter's birthday, who was visiting from out of town with her family. The staff took excellent care of us, the food was all excellent, and our granddaughter was treated with chocolate ice cream for dessert. She felt very special, and the bonus was seeing the cows and chickens after dinner.
Overall our first visit to The Loft was great. We really enjoyed the cheese tray appetizer and the steaks were delicious. The salad was not our favorite as it didn't really include lettuce, but others might love the mix of every kind of pea imaginable. The only negatives were that the chairs were not very comfortable and that the cost was very high even compared to other very nice restaurants. We would still highly recommend it for special occasions.
Have eaten there numerous times and have never had a bad experience. The food was spot on delicious, served in a timely manner and was well plated. Will most definitely eat there again. Side note. I find it a poor practice to have an included tip for a party of six, especially when they mandate the tip at 20%! If a mandatory tip is mandated, they should make it 15%. Our server lost out on twenty five more dollars due to this practice. This will not however, stop me from going there again. The Loft is as good as it gets for organic, locally farmed fresh food!
This has been our family's favorite restaurant since moving to Indiana a year and a half ago. We were looking forward to Easter brunch today, and could not have been more disappointed. The lamb was dry, portions very small, the banana cream pie was served still frozen, and the cherry pie was inedible - cherries rubbery and crust burnt. The food was not even close to being worth the $200 spent.
The service was impeccable, informative and friendly. The food was perfect for our special occasion meal yet there were options available that was suitable for more of an every day choice. The best meal and dining experience we've had in a very long time. Top Chef quality.
