North Beach Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Started with drinks in the bar -good live music. Got a Moscow mule, it was delicious. Moved to dining area, attentive service. Fried green tomato app was YUM. Prime rib sliders were good but not something I would return to restaurant to have again. Others in my party (got filet oscar and chicken dish) enjoyed their meals without complaint. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars.
I had shrimp scampi and the Pasta was overcooked there wasn't enough butter and garlic in the dish to make it very tasty .It was a little bit too tart. The dessert wasn't what I had expected either. We had the Georgia peach bread pudding the peaches really didn't have any taste.
This is a great go to restaurant, never been disappointed until this last Tuesday. We came in for the Kobe Burger Special on Tuesday. After making an inquiry about a cocktail, the waiter let me know if I made a change to the drink I would have to pay for the drink anyway ( understood ) when asked about the hummus our waiter informed us that it wasn't cost effective since we were only having a burger. Please don't advertise the special if you don't want customers to enjoy without being made to feel less than.
A small group of us came here for brunch for a birthday. The food was delicious, mimosas were great and it wasn't too pricey. They had good music playing but not too loud, and it wasn't packed so we were able to talk amongst ourselves. I would recommend coming here for brunch, and I am sure their lunch and dinner food is great too!
We decided to try this restaurant for dinner after a bad experience for Sunday Brunch a few weeks ago because of the good reviews. It was exactly the same really bad service and half the food had to be sent back. Here are some examples: at the bar we ordered drinks and a couple appetizers the waitress was at the bar, our drinks came out then our appetizers came out and she is still there waiting for 3-4 other tables drinks so she could bring them out all at once, really? Then in the dining room I had fish and chips the french fries were all little broken pieces not one whole fry? My wife had a flat bread that was not cooked at all, everything was raw, yea. In the dining room we had the same waitress as for Sunday Brunch and she was exactly the same walked by our table 3-4 times could not get her attention, it was like she had blinders, I had to get up and follow her to the kitchen. Pass on this place the reviews must be their friends.....
Sunday Brunch in the lounge area is always a great experience. Excellent service is consistently the norm, this time with Lavonda. Can't miss with the kobe burger with spicy ketchup. My wife enjoyed her mac and cheese which now comes in a smaller size. Eggs Benedict is our favorite from the brunch menu. Other meals we have enjoyed in the past include fish and chips, grilled chicken sandwich, and also the fish sandwich.
Although this has been one of our favorites over the years, we were disappointed on our last visit and decided that, if we ever go on a Tuesday, we'll have to have the burger. We ordered from the regular menu last Tuesday and our food seemed to have been neglected in the rush to get all the burgers out. My eggplant parm stack was soggy as if it had been sitting for quite a while. Also, when we preferred a booth, we were told that none were available and nor offered the waiting for one option even though one became available in a very few minutes.
First time dining here and the food was absolutely delicious. Celebrating Father's Day and my husband enjoyed his meal so much he couldn't stop sharing his experience. I had the 3 course special, surf and turf and the portions were perfect and really tasty. My husband had the fish and chips, which was cooked perfectly. Our children had the fish tacos and Mayport shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Not the best experience. Special request table reserved over two weeks in advance was not honored. In fact, we watched another party was sat there after we were seated, so our request could have been honored. Our request for a certain waitress was also not honored.
My boyfriend and I have heard a lot about this Tuesday night burger and beer special, so we decided to check it out. We sat on the patio which was nice, but pretty loud. The best part about the dinner was the beer. We both ordered burgers medium rare, but they came out very well done. We also paid extra to add fried eggs and clarified with the waitress to make sure the centers would be runny. Both our eggs were cooked all of the way through. Our waitress half apologized, then promptly left our table. When we received our check, we were charged extra for the eggs neither of us ate. Overall, we expected more.
I eat there regularly, and have entertained large groups of people. They always accommodate my needs, and the food, drinks, and service are excellent. Lavonda, my regular server, knows my likes and dislikes, and always makes me feel at home. North Beach Bistro is by far my favorite restaurant at the beaches!
A great spot-we have been customers for many years! One thing is troubling...the glare from the top windows in dining room is terrible. Cannot make out faces across the table! Suggest you install an adjustable shade at the top level...I ask that you sit there for an hour or so. I mentioned it Sunday and it was suggested sit in different spot-but that is not viable as someone will be facing the glare...
