The ambiance was really neat and welcoming. The waitress was super nice and attentive. The food was amazing. Big portions and delicious. Our group had kids and adults and we all enjoyed the selection and variety of the breakfast menu.
Very pleasant experience. Never felt rushed. Great food!
Le service était vraiment pas bon. Malgré une facture sale de plus de 170$, on s’est fait pratiquement fête dehors une heure plus tôt que l’heure prévu de fermeture parce que c ‘était un soir tranquille
Food was just average, nothing special but not bad either. The service was terrible, from having our group of six seated at two separate tables, to asking our group to leave within an hour from the time we were seated because they had another reservation. Funny enough we we're there with a reservation and it wasn't like we had just dropped by! I have never been asked to leave a restaurant table in my life, let alone after only one hour of sitting!!
I will never go back and will tell everyone I know to avoid having an unpleasant experience by going to this Cafe!
Soup was cold and lamb was dry...very disappointing.
Lovely meal as always! Great service! Beautiful view!
Not only was the food a good taste of French “comfort food” and locally grown fare - we never felt rushed and we felt as if we were back in Europe out for a late dinner with good friends.
The food was excellent and the service was awesome! Thanks for looking after us.
We enjoyed a wonderful dining experience for our family’s celebration. Great food, selection, wines and service. Exceptional desserts. Thank you.
I recently took two of my clients to Promenade Cafe & Wine for dinner. We had the Bison Burger and the 100 Mile Chicken. My guest described his burger as, "the best burger in Winnipeg", and, "better than steak!" My other guest and I both had the 100 Mile Chicken and it was absolutely delicious - so flavourful and not overcooked. The service was friendly, efficient and very professional. I can always trust this restaurant to impress my guests. The great view of the CMHR and the Esplanade Bridge doesn't hurt, either.
Really lovely venue. Was seated in the wine room. Although it was partially empty and there were many spots open near the window, we were seated facing the wall a foot away from other occupied tables. I work in a restaurant so I understand why we were seated here, so I didn't mind at all. But definitely will request a seat by the window next time because the view is AMAZING! Overall excellent service and food was DELICIOUS! Will definitely be back for brunch. Made the trip to St. Boniface so worth it!
One never is disappointed going to Promenade. Food is excellent and Service is outstanding
Great atmosphere , great food, great service. Thank you!
We were seated, promptly our server was polite and efficient. The food came out quickly and the flavour, temperature and portion size were excellent. We’ll keep coming back again and again.
We have been there for Valentine's day! Everything was awsom. They had a menu for the night. A bit pricey though.
Our food was lovely and the server was excellent. On a cold winter night the room was not warm. I wore my winer coat over my sholuders most of the evening
Although the manager had requested that our party of 9 be set up by the door we requested to be moved into the dining area which was better. It was too cold by the door. Our waitress moved us without question. Our time was 4:30. All of our bills had to be redone because we were charged for after 5 prices. My Beef Bourgeois. was a bit chewy also. We had been there for brunch on Sat. so a bit disappointing as I had suggested the location after the theatre.
Quiche/salad, sandwich/salad-delicious with great dressing on salad. Fried chicken/waffle/frites-interesting flavors, but waffle very tough, hard to cut, dry.
Food was good. Ambience lovely. However they told us we had to leave after an hour and a half. We didn't even finish our dessert and they took the plate away.
While the food was delicious (went there for Fried Chicken Week), and the waitress was really friendly and knowledgeable, the food delivery was quite slow for a lunch time meal. We were there was almost 2 hours which is too long for a work day lunch. Would definitely go back when I’m not in a hurry. Really enjoyed the food and ambience.
Came for chicken fest (chicken and waffles). The chicken was delicious! However, the waffles were too dense. And the time it took for the food to arrive was at least an hour.
This has been my favourite restaurant for years, but we went the other night and the food was just terrible. I ordered the 100 Mile Poulet and received basically, boiled chicken breasts with some lumpy mashed potatoes. The dish was missing the listed puree and cheese. Very strange. I heard others complaining as well. I love good food but this was not good. I hope they can make some improvements in the kitchen because we've always loved everything about Promenade.
Very good meal mussels and lamb were excellent. Ambience was pleasant as was the location and service
reasonable prices breakfast. love the marmalade!
We had New Year's eve dinner with a set menu. We were happy with most of the meal but our entree was disappointing. My husband had the Prime Rib which was tough and chewy. I had the chicken which as dry.
The service and view was great.
Our New Year's eve began with a fabulous meal. A great glass of wine and we were thrilled to enjoy that evening in that way. Service was outstanding. The meal was beyond delicious. Our new "go to" place.
Fantastic service and the food is always great with a lot of Made in Manitoba choices.
Great food excellent service. The view s beautiful.
Unfortunately the building heater failed, they did move us from the windows.
Three onion soups was cold and sent back to reheat.
Overall experience was not well. We froze the whole time.
There was no heat in the Restaurant, but was not asked if we want to change seats to were it was warmer.
There was something wrong with the heater in the bigger dinning area. Two people kept there coats on while eating.
My feet were freezing.
Made for an uncomfortable atmosphere and everyone wanted to leave sooner than expected.
We made a reservation for four of us for Christmas dinner - especially for our little 95-year-old French lady. It was very special because we were early enough in the evening at the beginning of the week that we had the whole dining area to ourselves. So that made it unique, but such a blessing since my husband is deaf and noise can be very disturbing. Our waitress was super - joining us in laughter on occasion. It was a very special evening; thank you very much!
The food was excellent but....we booked a 12:00 noon time for a Sunday Brunch with friends, and we were quite surprised that they stopped serving their breakfast menu at noon. We had to order off the lunch menu, which was very good, but several people in our group were disappointed that they couldn't get eggs.
Fantastic meal and outstanding service, we will definitely be back!
The service was great. We ordered the coq au vin and it was just chicken on top of mashed potatoes . For such a nice restaurant, our meal being served in a skillet was not very desirable and coq au vin should not look like chicken stew.
I would go back for the atmosphere and the friendly service but I would ask more questions how the food is prepared.
Duck Confit was amazing! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Fantastic food and service. We were not rushed during the lunch hour or made to feel like we needed to hurry. Good place to catch up with a friend or family member just before the holidays. Portions were reasonable and not so ridiculously huge that there was no wasted extras on the place.
Great evening Lovely Birthday Dinner
Have been here many items in past and always enjoyed it, but was a bit disappointed this visit. Good ambiance and selection of dishes, nice quaint restaurant. However, my smoked salmon sandwich looked like it had been run over by a car and hardly had any salmon in it! Didn't feel it was good value for the money and presentation was lacking. When I mentioned to the server that my lunch was 'scant' she just asked me if I wanted a dessert...?!!? To be fair, I asked for a substitution - to have brown bread instead of a croissant - but I don't think that should have made a difference. That being said, everyone else's meals were good. Hoping this visit was just an anomaly...
Attractive decor and comfortable tables. Good, friendly service, but 3 out of 5 of us were disappointed in our meals. In particular, I would not recommend the lamb shank.
I made a reservation for 4 friends which included a toddler for a Christmas get together. We chose Promenade because it's quite a nice atmosphere and I've had enjoyable experiences here before. Unfortunately that was not the case on Sunday. While the restaurant was busy, it took 70 minutes for our food to arrive. After about 55 minutes, We asked our server to speak with a manager and were told no managers were on site that day and that the kitchen was very backed up. I pointed out to our server that a table of 4 ladies who had been seated after us had eaten, paid and already left the restaurant and we still had not received any food. The toddler in our party was starving and we had to request some bread and butter to tide her over. Our orders were all straight from the menu with zero substitutions. While our server wasn't rude, he was very unconcerned about the delay although he did end up comping all of our bills after 2 people at our table. It was also difficult to get coffee/water refills. I will not be going back to this restaurant anytime time soon l, if at all, because of this poor service and the extreme wait time for our food. I expected much better from a restaurant of this caliber.
