PRESS has 3 wonderful dining locations for private parties and events. The first is our Edge Hill room which accommodates 6 to 12 guests. This space is intimate and ideal for smaller parties. The second is our beautiful, outdoor patio. The patio is a perfect setting for a Napa Valley event with views of the sunset over the western hills and vineyards. The partially covered patio offers an outdoor fireplace, patio lounge with firepits and comfy couches, and optional heating. We would be happy to assist in arranging dinners for groups of 10 to 32 guests on our patio. Lastly, our Wine Cellar can be privately reserved for 10 to 20 guests. There is AV equipment available and a view of our collection of all Napa Valley Wines. Private party menus are custom, can include your favorite dishes from the regular menu, and dietary restrictions are easily accommodated. Had the prefix. Chicken was outstanding but had nothing with it. Mac and Cheese was great but over priced. The big letdown was the meatballs . Could not even eat them and I would think for that price, someone would have noticed. We sat at the bar and the staff was very nice. I had a great experience last time. Big let down this time. With so many choices in Napa , I don't think I'd go back.

There were 8 of us in our party and we picked a bad day to eat at Press. Those of us who got steaks (more than half of the group) were extremely disappointed. We ordered them medium to medium-rare. What we got was seriously charred black lumps that were cold and bloody inside. They kept taking them back to cook them more, but that made the overpowering burnt taste worse than it already was. They apologized profusely and did their best at service recovery with not charging for 2 of the steaks and providing dessert for the table. This was appreciated but did not make up for the fact that the steaks were just not tended to on the grill which heavily soured our overall experience...

Press is a high end food experience without feeling stuffy or too fancy. The restaurant has walls of windows on two sides which make the space feel open to the outdoors (you can see hills on one side and even some vineyards through the patio on the other side). The decor is simple (wood tables and chairs, white tablecloths) but the windows and view of the bar make it elegant and welcoming without becoming too noisy once it fills up.
The food is unabashedly steakhouse but with elements of surprise and depth to make it worthwhile for foodies. For example, the seasonal vegetables with emulsions (appetizer) was presented with whole small vegetables stuck in a garden of ice. We laughed because it was a little unexpected but really enjoyed dipping our vegetables in the emulsions (some mayo based, others more mustardy or tomato). We asked for a peanut sauce to be removed (allergy) and they brought us another sauce without being asked, very nice. We even prevented our waiter from clearing the emulsions so we could use our shoestring potato fries to finish them, they were so good. A more formal place probably wouldn't have allowed us to do that, but we felt comfortable enough at Press to have some fun. And our shared Côte de Bouef was just amazing. I usually have to ask for more salt in most restaurants for my steak dishes but the rub/seasoning was perfect. Memorable.
And the caramel popcorn ice cream was a wonderful way to end the meal - we really enjoyed Press and will return.

This restaurant was recommended by several people but we were not impressed. The building is pretty but that's about it. We had an 8:30pm reservation and didn't receive our main course until 10! Overall service was terrible! Not worth the money!

Press called me the day before our reservation to confirm. The day of the reservation they sent me an e-mail reminder then late in the day they sent me a text reminding me of my 6:00-7:30 reservation. Are you kidding me? What the hell ? The wine sommelier was so unhelpful I felt like not ordering wine. Food was very good but would not go back.

Wonderful night! We were out on the patio and it was beautiful, looking at the mountains. The inside was much louder than outside, but more vibrant than annoying. Very good food, a huge wine list yet quite pricey due to their focus on aged wines, and a very nice atmosphere. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Napa.

Absolutely incredible! Service was unlike anything we have had before. Charles was so attentive and made sure everything was just right! This is a must stop for any steak lover. We enjoyed the filet and the flat iron steaks. Make sure you add the chimichurri to your choice of steak-- it is to die for!

This place is wonderful! The food, atmosphere, and service are all top notch. We each has the filet mignon - I had hollandaise sauce and he got the au poivre. Both equally delicious. We also saved room for the chocolate soufflé which was absolutely worth it - just amazing. Will definitely hit again next time in Napa!

This was our first time eating at Press and it was excellent. I had the filet and it was probably one of the best stakes that I've ever had. Great wine list and good options for wine by the glass. The service was excellent and the dessert phenomenal. A great option for a special occasion.

PRESS came with get promise and exited with disappointment. The service and server were outstanding, so this would be not a knock on her. She was awesome. The Happy Hour appetizers were great, $1 oysters and their corn dogs with Wagye Hot Dogs were a huge hit. The dinner was quite disappointing, the salads were nice although again a bit over priced, salads as a starter were locally sourced and, but the pricing was $18-$20 for a starter. Clearly, their cooks are not skilled in steak preparation. Our table had 3 Tenderloins and each was not appropriately cooked, medium rare was effectively rare cold red center and medium was about the same. The chicken entree was dry, although jus served with the chicken was awesome. The side of Truffle Mac and Cheese was over cooked and the Frites were served lukewarm, but overcooked and soggy. My bet is the oil was not hot enough or they were sitting for a while. Either way a big no no for $14 fries. They are very proud of their wine list over 1000 Napa wines sourced and the pricing reflects their pride. Their Cabernet's from $100 to $140 were a good mix and one of their 2 sommelier can help, we chose a Seavy Cabernet which was $100 for about a $60.00 bottle. The selection under a $100 in Napa Valley was not even marginal. I would lose a sommelier and expand the wine list under $100.00 There is a pretty hefty corkage fee by Napa standards for the bring your own crowd, so be aware. Overall for the price and the value, there are many other places you can go in St. Helena and Napa... I would have the sous chef and executive chef take a more active role in the kitchen to a make sure the quality standards are being met. I would recommend that you check other places if you are looking for a fairly traditional steak establishment.

Press truly impressed us! Out of all the "must try" restaurants in Napa, this was by far the best in everything! Super cute restaurant at night, filled with light details, chandeliers, romance ambience, waiters who seem to be happy and proud to work there, they have their own housemade ale, housemade everything!
First off, if you are a meat lover - MUST TRY PRESS! Try the Cote de Beouf, its huge, but you can share it at least between 2-3 people. Its truly special and different, so flavorous, so huge, so amazing! Also try the truffle mac and cheese, amazing!
I went to Bouchon, Celadon and all those listed as Napas must try.....but this was by far the best experience. The price is OK, but when the staff is so nice, the food and the environment is perfect - its worth paying for the experience. If I knew PRESS was the true gem of Napa, I would have eaten there everyday!

We have been waiting to get into PRESS for a few years now and it was worth the wait. The food and service was great. We all had red meat with a fantastic older vintage bottle of Cabernet off their extensive wine list. It was a great experience!

Well, if you haven't been here, you'll have to come see for yourself. Expensive, but well worth it. Super great food, excellently prepared, the wait staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and amusing. We have been 4 times now, ordered different things each time and have been very happy. We will continue to return. Wine selection is good, but if you've been wine tasting all day, it's a great place to come for great food. Cocktail selections are exciting, bread selection when you sit down is delicious, appetizers don't disappoint (steak tartar is so good, crab cake is perfect), steaks are cooked to perfection (no extra sauce is needed, as the flavors are superb). Order the molten lava dessert right when you sit down, so it will be ready when you finish, save room for it, it makes the meal! Make your reservations early, we booked ours 3 weeks out.
