Precinct Kitchen + Bar Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I had Brunch here before heading to a midday concert. The place was conveniently located, well decorated and very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was very comprehensive and well prepared. The service was fast and professional. Prices were very reasonable for Boston. Highly recommended.
I loved everything about my dining experience with the exception of the shared booth seats. The group behind both my date and myself were constantly bumping the seats quite hard. At one point the whole bench moved. Only reason i gave 2 stars for abiance. It was a 5 star review minus that.
I booked this and was then a bit concerned when I saw 3.5 star reviews on another site. We were pleased with our meals and the service was excellent! IWhile I wouldn't say the meals were exceptional, the value for the money was definitely there. Will definitely come back.
Did a last minute open table reservation and was pleasantly surprised! There were 4 of us and we all loved our meals. The service was great and the server very knowledgeable. It was a young, hip crowd on a Saturday night and the doors were open to the outside in mid October. Fun evening - I will be back!
We liked the warm, friendly vibe of Precinct but the food fell far short. Given the great reviews, it must have been an off night. The pan-fried Branzino was fried to a crisp such that it was very dry and not much meat left. The saving grace was that the clam chowder and salads were yummy, and the steak frites ordered by one of our party was very well prepared and tasty.
Fabulous for celiacs! The manager is great and very allergy conscious. All of the flour used in the restaurant is gluten free so people with a gluten allergy can enjoy everything from clam chowder to beignets. The food is excellent and very nicely prepared.
We had breakfast on a Saturday morning around 11am. Very cool atmosphere, staff was great! My 16 yr old daughter ordered pancakes and waitperson asked if she'd like the children's size which was 2 large as opposed to 3. We all appreciated it as she could barely finish 2! Great fresh oj, very good coffee and omelettes were great!
Weather was beautiful and we choose (as did all the other patrons that night!) to sit outside. After looking up at the impressive architecture of the hotel that the restaurant is housed in, my husband looked up the history of the building and discovered it was a former police precinct - hence the name! Loved our time in Boston and in this restaurant!
Second time got my breakfast order wrong Omelette was eggs instead of whites and no cheese. When I told waitress she brought me a side of cheese and said don't worry she wouldn't charge me for the cheese! Also forget to make my juice. Had to ask after 20 min after breakfast already served
Went to Precinct for my girlfriends birthday. Everything was perfect top to bottom. Made a reservation for 2 on OpenTable and we were even seated 5 minutes early at a table originally set for 4! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was amazing! We loved the salmon tartare and prosciutto wrapped dates. The coffee rubbed venison was cooked PERFECTLY. As for cocktails, their Old Fashioned was amazing. Their Food & Beverage Manager, Matt, even came over to check on everything and wish my girlfriend a Happy Birthday. We will definitely be back!
The music was good, but WAY TOO loud for dinner guests. Should have faced the amp to the bar people. Hard to have conversation.
While the veal entree was very good, and different, the chicken (although free range which I appreciate) was dry, and there was nothing special or interesting about it. I'm told the "lobster roll" was okay. I don't remember the 4th dish.
The desserts, both the chocolate mousse and the parfait were pretty disappointint.
Sorry. But you asked. Definitely not worth the price. And we go out a lot!!
We are visiting Boston from out of town and found this place on yelp. I didn't realize at first that it was part of a hotel. I loved the atmosphere, it was cozy and romantic. The food was also very good, big portion sizes. My boyfriend and I split the Caesar salad and they brought it out in 2 separate bowls and were big enough that I didn't feel like we split the salad. I ordered the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. The cocktails were great too. I would definitely return here if I came back to Boston.
This is now our favorite restaurant in Boston. It is particularly fabulous if you have a gluten allergy. Manager Matt Sentas is very allergy aware and now only uses GF flour in the kitchen, so those with a gluten allergy can eat everything from clam chowder to fried calamari to beignets! The entrees are excellent. We recently had the venison and the scallops and the preparations were very flavorful. A perfect spot if you are going to the Lyric Theater. The restaurant is in a hotel so serves all meals.
It is evident that Precinct has a strong focus on both excellent food and service. I was on the search for a great lobster roll and the Precinct's is one of the best I've had in three years of visits to Boston. Add one of their Bloody Mary's....will not disappoint. One of the best meals we had during our Boston visit!
Awful service and food. 5:30 reservation, only 2 tables seated when we were sat.
Confused as to who our server was - had 3 different males talking to us and talking orders.
25 minutes for first appetizers, oysters came out poorly shucked with bellies punctured, showed to person who delivered the food, indicated would get server, server never came. Ordered cheese plate, bread was cold and soaked in oil, blue cheese was just rind, showed to server and no response, walked from table, did come back with warm bread. Venison entrée ordered med-rare, came out well done, showed to server and again just walked away. Someone else came and took plates, entrée not touched, did not say anything. Server came back 20 min later and we asked for check as running late. Check had no comps - asked server about the Venison and he indicated could ask a manager. Never say or spoke to manager, after waiting another server grabbed check and ran credit card - never saw our server again.
Only good thing was wine selection. Total bill $199, left note on back of receipt with limited tip. Was there 2 hours.
Biggest complaint was that we were seated in middle of restaurant with clear view of the kitchen service bar. 2 chefs in white jackets at the bar, one was eating the entire time - eating nachos and talking to staff, handling food.
A group of my friends and I chose this place for dinner before going out on the town for the night. Our reservation was for 815 and we were sat within 15 minutes, which was fine. However, once we ordered our food it took about an hour if not longer to get our food. Our food was alright, 3 of us got a burger, none of them were cooked correctly. Two of my other friends got the mussel appetizer and scallop entree. I found our server to be extremely rude and unprofessional. Additionally, we asked for our bill and over half an hour by and it was never brought over. One of my friends went to find the server and he was outright rude to her asking "what do you want". Once again we asked for the bill, still nothing. For a second time my friend had to get up out of her seat to find him. And when she did he seemed annoyed and with force handed her our bill. We didn't leave the restaurant until 11:15 and at that point, our evening was ruined. I will never go back to this restaurant because of my experience, nor will my friends, nor will be recommending it to anyone else.
