We visited Porter's for a meal with friends on New Year's Eve. It was my first time there and I was looking forward to having a great meal based on recommendations. The kitchen seemed to be having a rough night and only 1 of the 4 dishes came out satisfactory. My steak had to be prepared twice and I actually didn't get to eat my meal till the next day. The manager did comp a portion of the meal. However, we traveled over 50 miles each way to get there and I wouldn't visit again based on my first experience and the distance.

Have been to Porters frequently for Christmas eve. Lovely place to dine especially for a special night. Our waiter, I believe his name was Matt, was absolutely the best. Made the dining experience that much better.

Once again this restaurant delivered. I went with a group of 6, we sat at a round table, perfect for talking and sharing bottles of wine. Our food was excellent. Save room for dessert, the best chocolate cake my husband has ever had. I think the carrot is better. Fabulous steaks, incredible wine list - though I do miss Jeffrey.

The service made the night. Chris H. And Manny took care of our table all night and Chris took pride and care in everything he did... He made our dining experience even better. He is the reason I will be back and tell people about this great Steakhouse.

Porters has always been a very upscale restaurant with attention to detail and well above average service. My last visit was just so-so in terms of service. Sat at a table next to an employee who was dumping out buckets of ice. Didn't get to see the meat tray or hear the explanation of the different cuts of meat which is always enjoyable. The fish special was diver scallops and I'm not expert, but they didn't look like diver scallops to me.....pretty small. The food was very good and my guests were pleased. I would go back, but definitely seemed to be missing the small details....maybe it was a slow night.

Made reservations through Open Table on the Wednesday before Sunday for 10 people. Wanted 6:30 reservations, but said none available except 5:30 or 9pm. We took the 5:30 reservation, but the restaurant was empty through out our dinner. I wonder if I could have gotten a later reservation if I had called instead of booking through Open Table?
We were seated in a private room which was great. The food was wonderful and the service excellent.

Very poor, inattentive service. Food is adequate but very overpriced. Decor and ambience are nice but we could see dust-covered cobwebs that had obviously been ignored for some time. The manager on duty was disinterested at best and we were told to call back the next day and speak with the daytime manager. Porter's may consider themselves to be a high end establishment. But to us, it is quite the opposite. We will not return and will not recommend it to anyone.

Great food as expected. Outstanding service from not just our server, but from everyone on the floor at the time. Since it was our anniversary, we enjoyed a complimentary serving of their most delicious Carrot Cake. We've ordered and enjoyed it many times before.

Porter's is one of our favorite restaurants. I made reservations for our anniversary (even though it was a few days past the actual date). Everyone that we interacted with wished us "Happy Anniversary". The food was amazing as always, I've never had anything but excellent food and service anytime we've dined here. At the end of our meal, our server brought us the dessert menu and told us "Happy Anniversary, dessert is on us". Since we were so full from our delicious meal, our server boxed our dessert to go and we enjoyed it at home a couple of hours later with a cup of coffee & Bailey's. I always recommend Porter's when asked for my opinion on a good restaurant. Many thanks to everyone for a wonderful evening! We are already looking forward to our next dining experience with you!

The prices were high but the food and service was very good. It's not someplace I would go on a regular basis, but a nice place for a special occasion. Didn't like the fact that with 6 people, it automatically added a 20% gratuity. I can see adding gratuity, but felt it should have been 15% and allow customers to add more.

Beautiful, modern, and classy restaurant with cozy areas for large private groups. This is a pricier restaurant, nice for special occasions but too expensive for everyday.
Although our waiter was very pleasant, he was not attentive and we waited long amounts of time for simple things (getting our salad and bill).
There are many other better choices of the same quality/price range in the St. Louis area.

Waiters were great and so was he house special tenderloin.i am taking stars off because the meal comes with only one side. For 50 bucks a plate,I would expect a salad and also a veggie to go with he meat and potatoes .

We were staying at the hotel, but made it a point to dine at Porter's. Their signature pepperloin was flavorful and tender. Service was friendly with a touch of upscale attentiveness. A nice place for a nice dinner whether you are hotel patrons or not.

I chose Porters based on other reviews and I was not disappointed. It was a perfect setting for my wife's birthday. The wine list is outstanding. The appetisers are delicious and the portions substantial . Our next visit will be more casual; with friends sharing appetisers and some fantastic wines.

The steak tasted like steak. Nothing special. A little under cooked, when ordered medium well it had a little blood on the plate. Service was excellent and was sat right away. I'll go to another place if I just have a craving for steak.
