Phenomenal all around! Can't go wrong with the menu and cocktails!
Have been there several times and never disappointed.
We had a young child with us and I was concerned about him being about to "adjust" to the atmosphere; allowing us to enjoy our gathering but not interfere with anyone else's night out. It worked out beautifully! Our server, Jake, was awesome and make great accommodations for our young dinner. We felt welcome and was able to enjoy a wonderful evening out! Our compliments to Jake!! He is a wonderful server.
Folks, Everything was great at this restaurant and everyone in my party really enjoyed the evening.
If you want my feedback and one suggestion; when you charge a corkage fee once I expect that charge to open my wine. But when I have a second bottle opened and receive a second corkage fee charge for the second bottle I think that’s a little much. Especially after we’ve spent several hundred dollars on food at your restaurant. If I return to this restaurant in the future I’ll only open one bottle of wine.
Another option is to go to other restaurants in town of the same caliber and pay one corkage fee for several bottles and one corkage fee or even no corkage fee.
You may want to rethink you policy especially when I offer my waiter a glass of wine he’s serving us.
First I have to mention that the food was excellent. A nice selection, expertly prepared, and beautifully plated. The service, however, left our stomachs a bit sour.
We had reservations, we arrived, and were seated in a nice booth. Then we waited for 15-20 minutes before I finally approached the hostess and let them know we had yet to see a server. They apologized and immediately sent someone over to fetch our drinks. The server was nice enough, but made excuses about how he wasn't sure if our table was in his section, which is a HUGE failure on the floor manager's part. Once we finally ordered our entrees, it took a estimated tortoise-life to receive them. It was actually about 30 minutes, but I know I had much longer, greyer hair by the time I was eating. As stated earlier, the food was amazing! Being gluttons for punishment, we hesitantly chose to order dessert. Again, in record-breaking, desert-crossing time, we received our deserts. I actually toned it and it took 22 minutes to plate up 2 desserts and shuttle them out to us.
The entire meal took almost two and a half hours, which was about an hour and a half longer than I was willing to invest in a meal.
Great food and a beautiful view. We were pleasantly surprised by our final bill.
Fantastic dinner and service!
Excellent service and great food, along with the general ambience made it a memorable experience.
Piropos is the very best elegant restaurant in North KC. Their service is second to none, and the wine selection is extensive. The appitizers are delicious.
Entres include great steak, seafood, and chicken selections with available seafood add-ons to the steaks as well. My wife and I truly enjoy this gem and will definately return.
Awesome my daughters 23 Birthday. Excellent steaks
Just the best place to take clients
Food and service was great. Would highly recommend the restaurant.
Our whole meal was perfect, Hector went above and beyond to make sure our anniversary was special!!!
Went here for our anniversary and the food was fantastic, the wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and polite. We will definitely be returning!
Birthday..it was a great meal and service was pretty good. Took a while to get drinks/refills. View wasn’t very good as we were in a booth, but food was yummy.
Our first time eating at Piropas. Food and service were excellent.
Excellent food and knowledgeable staff
My husband and I had a reservation for 8:30pm. Upon arrival, we were told that they were running a little behind, but we were welcome to have a drink at the bar while we wait. How kind, a drink on our own dime while we wait. We ended up not being seated until 9:15. We had to call our babysitter to let her know we would be later, as well as pay her for the extra time. We were hoping our experience would turn around once we were seated. Our waiter did not greet us or introduce himself. He abruptly asked if we knew what we wanted. His anxious demeanor definitely soured our already unsavory experience. We felt very rushed. We wanted to love Piropos, but it didn’t happen for us.
I have dined here and even taken out of town guest here, as well as the old location, but will never return again.
I booked my most recent reservation for Saturday, February 17th, and in advance on Open Table.
The restaurant way overbooked their reservations for the evening and lacked to provide adequate service for a number of guest, not just my reservation. I only hope many others give them a bad review as well.
They jammed additional seating which took away from the dining experience and blocked doorways as well, and the bar, downstairs and entire building were overcrowded. The Fire Marshall probably would have fined them it was that bad.
As mentioned, I've been here many times in the past. But, never again.
They should remember as a finer dining establishment, the guest always come first.
If you can't service the guest, don't take the reservations.
I actually had Pierponts on the phone after a 45 minute wait with our reservation, and was ready to leave when we finally got seated.
Unfortunately, no apology or offer of cocktail or anything for waiting for our table.
Why make a reservation if they can't honor it.
Ate there Saturday evening. The food was excellent as usual. Disappointed in our server. He was not very personable and did not communicate very well if at all.
Food is good but the waitress and people that clean tables are all the time in a hurry. I don' even finish my food and they take my plate, nupken and do not like that. We pay a lot a money so we can stay until we want to go.
This was a higher cost venue, but the quality of food was excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant, the concept was interesting, and in 34 years of dining, our server Mark Palmer was in the top 5 best waiters I've ever had. The tables were full, yet my drink never got more than halfway down before he was on the refill, he was quick to figure out our Groupon, and he made our first visit there special with a dessert.
We actually tried 3 desserts (the flan, the 3-layer mousse chocolate cake, but the best by far was the bread pudding)!
Would not recommend the veal. It was terrible and the sauce bland. Not worth the price! The tenderloins were good and the empanadas so it’s surprising the veal is so awful. It really should be removed from the menu or updated so it’s better tasting.
My husband and I ate here for our anniversary. The view is amazing! The food was very good! We both had beef medallions and the meat was tender and well seasoned. The bread pudding is to die for!! We will be back!
Never dissapointed. Always a good experience and the food is awesome
Overly busy and that hurt the service but food was good
We reserved a table for Valentine's Day. Not only did we get in a little before our reservation time, but the server was attentive, and the food came quick enough for a FULL restaurant. The bread, appetizer, and dinner were all great.
Delicious food!! We went on Valentine’s Day and had an AMAZING server - he offered us dessert! Food was amazing, we had the lobster tail pasta and halibut, which were both sublime. Great (strong) cocktails and delicious wine. It was a perfect evening!
The only issue was that we made a reservation for 9pm and weren’t seated until around 9:15/9:20.
Valentine’s Day dinner, expected restaurant to be busy but we had a server that seemed to go missing. Ordered the grouper special and did not get the mushroom risotto. Waited for our server to check on us, did not. Stopped another server, instead of the mushroom risotto they brought a plate of mushrooms and another risotto. The food was good but felt like the staff wasn’t prepared for the evening.
Normally I love this restaurant. However, this particular visit had really terrible service. One of the dinners did not come out as ordered. Had to ask twice for the correct order....and when the missing item was finally delivered...we were already half finished with our meal. All the server said was "sorry". Also had to waive our server down several times for refills of water/tea. As we were entertaining first-time guests.....I was really embarrassed as I had talked this place up!
My wife and I went here for our Valentine Day celebration and were very pleased with food, service and ambiance! It is a great place to go for a special occasion!
We had early reservation but still were seated under the cow’s udder...no view whatsoever. My wife’s lobster was wonderful...my filet was ordered m well but came rare. I added shrimp but it was pretty much tasteless. Wife would rate her meal 9 and experience 8. I rate meal 5 and experience 6.
We love dining here! Great food. Great envirment. Great service.
We had an excellent evening with friends, sat in the bar for a cocktail before dinner. They seated us at the reservation time. Beautiful atmosphere, we had an excellent view by the window. THE SERVICE AND THE FOOD WERE EXCELENT.
Great food and excellent ambience. Would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Excellent service and very good food. You can tell they care
Food and service were very good, filet and osso bucco were both delicious and well presented. The only issue was that despite a reservation there was still a 30 minute wait for a table which seemed to be the norm for the night.
The food was good, service was ok, but quite impersonal—probably a result of how full the restaurant was. Unfortunately zero atmosphere. We were celebrating an anniversary, so it was a bit disappointing.
We sat right next to the fireplace. Was a little hot but we were able to move the table away from the fire and that helped. But I would have preferred another table. The food was outstanding.
We had a great evening. We do miss Fred. We loved his acknowledgement of us and how he made us feel special.
