Argentineans enjoy dining in a generally relaxed atmosphere where conversation and gracious dining go hand-in-hand. Piropos Restaurant, on the hill in Briarcliff Village, offers a unique view, warm atmosphere and fresh foods prepared in the Argentinean style. ***PLEASE NOTE: WHEN MAKING RESERVATIONS PIROPOS CANNOT RESERVE WINDOW TABLES. Ambiance, food, service, location were good. I don't have any big complaint. I was a little underwhelmed with the food, as I had heard so many good things over the past many years. I was anxious to try. Food was good but I wasn't wowed. In hindsight, I wish I would have splurged on Capital Grille level for our 30th wedding anniversary.

Terrific birthday dinner at Piropos. Our waiter Sean was as great as the food. Our party of 4 started by sharing empanadas, then we each had our own appetizers and main courses. We all thought our food was superb. Piropos is pricey, but the view, if you're lucky enough to get a window seat, is fantastic.

When we arrived for our we ask for a table by a window and they put us in a separate room, there was a table by the window and I see this in the middle of the room. A little while later the room seemed a little stuffy so they propped the door open with a baby high chair now I'm sitting in a cold draft and when they brought my food it got cold extremely quick didn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. The wait staff was very helpful and attentive. The food was excellent although I feel a bit overpriced. The biggest amount of food on my plate was the rice that went with the dish, although it tasted very good I would think that was also the cheapest ingredients on the plate.

My husband and I went to Piropos for our Anniversary. We were initially sat in a room that had poor air conditioning, and our server quickly noticed our discomfort and offered to move us to another table in the other room with a working air conditioner. It took less than 10 minutes and we were seated at a much nicer table. I am pregnant, so our server suggested a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail for me. The service was very attentive, though not hovering over our table. My water glass was consistently being refilled, which I appreciate. The food was INCREDIBLE! My husband ordered the lobster, and I got the beef medallions/tiger shrimp dinner. The seasoning on the Shrimp was amazing, and the sauce drizzled on the beef medallions was perfection. Our server brought over a delicious churro and ice cream dessert for us, and we could have licked the plate clean, it was so so good! We had a wonderful time. My husband and I are looking forward to our next visit to Piropos!

Mashed potatoes were very dry and crumbly. Our waiter disappeared and didn't show up until about 45 minutes after we received our appetizers to take our entree order. It was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was not very crowded but the noise level was very high. Our waiter did give us a free dessert and didn't charge my wife for the second glass of wine she had with her meal. I think this is because she was not happy with the dish she had chosen.
My wife had really looked forward to dining at Piropos. We have been in this area for over three years now and finally made it to Piropos on our anniversary. I am sad to say that we probably won't be going back.

Beautiful restaurant! My husband and I went on a Wednesday evening , we started out with the bacon wrapped scallops- we loved them! My husband had the bone in ribeye with the peppercorn seasoning, I ordered the lobster tail- all we perfectly prepared and tasted amazing! Service was great and the owners even stopped by to check on us. Would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

Piropos is one of the greatest restaurants ever. If you're looking for a place to take your significant other out on a date or just dinner in general, Piropos is the place for you. The food was just amazing, customer service was phenomenal, just everything about this place was good. It may be a little pricey but it is worth every penny you spend. I can't wait to go again.

Just so-so. Food wasn't well-prepared. Wife's polenta tasted of old cheese and she spit it out and my $35 filet was poorly cooked. The seafood ceviche was a little fishy. Wife's rack of lamb was good. Server was very good(Mollie?)

What a lovely dinner. Our waiter guided us thru the menu and helped us with Argentinean wine. Empanadas were delicious and a nice appetizer. Next we had the scallop appetizer which were big, juicy and sweet--not overcooked like most restaurants. I had lamb with lingonberry/port sauce and my GF had halibut. Both were superb. This is the kind of service and food I expect from a nice restaurant but rarely get.

The food was excellent as was the ambiance. However, after our main course it took 25 minutes for our waiter to return with our dessert course and drinks which caused a little stress. But, overall, I enjoyed our time and the table that we had. We had a lovely view of the downtown area. Thanks.

Our server was less than enthusiastic when it came to servicing our table. I have a food allergy and it seemed like he couldn't have cared less about it and was not willing to ask the chef to rework some of the meals I was considering. It was disappointing - except for the flan, the flan was delicious.

As always, we each had a wonderful meal. Sean, our server, was also busy with a group but he worked very hard to treat us as if we were his only customers. My halibut and lobster risotto was served hot, delicious, and very generous. My wife said her grilled beef medallions were the best she has ever had. The prosecco was perfect, as were the churros and layered mousse cake for desserts. Piropos has never disappointed us. It is the ideal spot for a special occasion; not inexpensive but very worth it.

Service was just fair and especially slow considering the restaurant was only a quarter filled. Chicken dish, although very tasty was dry. Vegetables and mashed potatoes were cold. If we hadn't waited 30 minutes between courses , I would have sent it back. Every one in our foursome, all with different steak entrees agreed, tasty but cold and dry.
I have been coming to Piropos for over 1 ...
I have been coming to Piropos for over 10 years. Over the last 2-3 years the quality seems to consistently go down. On our most recent visit it was by far the most mediocre experience at this restaurant. The service was barely average at best, I've had much better service at a Chili's (10 minutes before a waiter acknowledged us at our table, 20 minutes to get a drink). The food on this visit was also mediocre, the quality of the ingredients was lacking and one of my side items and the same of my wife's tasted freezer burnt? The food also showed up to our table luke warm at best (this may be a direct result of the slow server). I've had similar experiences the last 2 times prior to this but not this bad. I've continued to give this restaurant a fair chance and it continues to not live up to its original quality. Unfortunately this will probably be our last visit. I know this restaurant receives strong reviews but if you are looking for a quality restaurant there are many better options in the KC metro.

We were celebrating my daughter's college graduation and had an extremely wonderful time! Our waiter was very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed. The wine list was excellent, including the sparkling wine selection. The rack of lamb as well as all of our meals was superb. We always go back to Piropos whenever we have something special to celebrate.

Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in. Care was taken to be sure we were happy and the timing of the food and service was perfect for a special night out. The food was delicious as were the craft cocktails.
Very disappointed for a second time... ...
Very disappointed for a second time... My husband and I celebrated my birthday here about 10 years ago and were disappointed in the food, especially for the price. Then a few months ago I met a friend here during the week. The waiter was awesome, the Manhattan was special and the food and presentation of the food was wonderful.
Then last Saturday, my same friend and our husbands met here for dinner. Her husband ordered his steak rare and it was way overcooked, pink in the middle. He was asked if he wanted a box to take the half he didn't eat home and he said no, it wasn't rare. There was no apology or anything. I had ordered the same dish I had the last time I was there and it came with the wrong vegetable and then I was given rice on the side, because they served it with potatoes rather then the rice it was supposed to come with. My friends meal was really good, she said, but my husband's steak was only OK. So, 3 out of 4 meals were disappointing and the cost is above average for what you get.
